Wemby developing his jumper this early on in his career is definitely better for him. Having a jumper is less wear-and-tear to his lower extremities (especially his knees) in the long run. Also, atp Wemby is still too skinny and him camping out on the paint on both sides of the court for an 82-game season is not just sustainable for the meantime. Wemby already roams so much on the paint on the defensive side of the court, so I can understand why the Spurs wants him to be more of a perimeter player on the offensive side even if it’s just for injury prevention. Their team is just in year 2 rebuild with him and they’re not yet real contenders especially in the loaded West so I think it’s smart for them to keep developing their young core. Their team still needs a lot of quality pieces in order to contend for real (for example, another 3nD wing and another defensive minded back-up big). But this young core is definitely promising and Wemby certainly is elite. Praying for Wemby to have a long, healthy, and successful career. 🙏🏼
@abdesselemelhassouni281 I think this early on, you can already spot some of the pieces they need like another 3nD wing and a defensive back-up center. I’m not sure if Castle will really be the future PG of the Spurs for when CP3 leaves or if they’ll get another PG. Castle is doing great btw, he definitely could become the legit PG for Wemby and the Spurs.
Currently shooting 36% overall. It would have been higher but his % is affected by his 3pt-shooting percentage in October at 24%. But In November, he shot at 37% and currently shooting at 39% in December. All these while also having a 4 BPG overall, and 7.5 blocks in the past few games.
Wembys character is to strong to turn him into the new fanboy lebron. Wemby is a good soul and thats not what corporations wanna push. They want weak men that can be bought and do what they say.
People want him to get in the paint more because a skilled 7'5" guy is unstoppable and unlockable down there.... Guess what, a skilled 7' 5" guy is unstoppable and unlockable from three too. 😁 Imagine if Steph Curry didn't have to ever think about getting blocked and could just step into his motion and let it fly... If Wemby reaches even 75% of Steph's shooting technique consistency, it's over for the rest of the league. I love the plan for his development, there's a good chance to create something even more unprecedented here.
Not even related to his game but all those 3s are gonna prolong his career. Less wear and tear over 70+ games per year will pay dividends in the future. People that tall are so incredibly injury prone but if all he’s doing is shooting efficient 3s hopefully he won’t experience the same lower body injuries as everyone else.
And it’s not like he’s out there shooting 20% from 3. Don’t get me wrong some of those 3s are ill advised but in general he’s taking good shots on good efficiency.
@@minovictor Exactly. Chris Paul didn't forget how to throw risky lobs or over the top entry passes all of a sudden. They're playing it safe with Wemby, that's a one of a kind body type.
Spurs fan since 1984, we have had the basketball gods bless us with some of the best players to ever play the game. David Robinson was a freak of nature and truly underrated athletic and strong as fu+×. Tim Duncan complete player big fundamental best powerforawd to ever play the game and my opinion only second to jordan for best player ever facts over feelings. TP & Manu would have been #1 options on any other team back in the day. Now Victor Wembanyama, the extraterrestrial, never seen anything like him second year and already top 5 in the league, no doubt about that. If he stays healthy throughout his career, he will go down as best ever to play the game book it.
wemby can't even buy alcohol yet lol 5 years he will be absolutely dominating
He is French unwritten role is you can drink at the first weeding you are old enough to attend 😂
NBA ratings are down because of the many streaming sites and subscriptions a consumer has to have in order to just follow one team.

I think that the GM still has to figure out what will be Wemby in 2 years to spot the missing pieces.

Future goat, best Defender ever, best 3pter ever,....
Cm on tell me im a fool before hé makes it!!
😏
Saying he is making nearly 35% from three isnt an honest description.
Since november first he is shooting 38% on 10 attempts per game.
atm he's at 35.6% at 3P (3.3/9.3)

New sub I love Wemby I was criticizing him with the 3 but i don’t no more next 3 years nba is his lol
He also takes some of the hardest shots in the nba, he ranks in the sop 25% in shot difficulty and is still putting up decent shooting splits.
