Man... I have missed you Ben. The world could really use a heavy dose of what you give through music right now.
I’m reminded of a quote of yours from way back when I first discovered your songs, I’d like to share it here: “Music is the last true voice of the human spirit. It can go beyond language, beyond age, and beyond color straight to the mind and heart of all people.”
My sister dropped Live from Mars on me when I was about 15. It made me pick up a guitar. I’m 36 now, and I’ve never stopped playing. I’ve been to every PERTH Australia performance of yours. I’d really like you to know you were the sole spark of influence I needed back then to tap into my creative mind. I’ve kept it with me ever since. And I’m thankful... because music has always been there for me to play, create, mimic, be inspired, or inspire others. It has never let me down. When it’s just me and a guitar, no matter what I’m feeling I can transpose that feeling into music. I owe you credit as the catalyst for this Ben.
Man, your story is mine too. i'm 35, discovered him at 16 with live from Mars, started to learn guitar and still playing now.. he opened a whole new world to me, inspired me in every moments of my life... Good to share similar feelings while listenning this new song, even thoug being thousands of miles away. i'm French and based now in reland.;take care, mate.

43 yrs young here too boys...and wow did BH have an impact on me growing up and playing the git. Welcome To The Cruel World was for sure one of my fondest memories of playing with my older brother.
The way Ben writes inspired me to play and write as well. Music is now how I make a living. These amazing songwriters who are willing to bare their soul help us all through tough moments. Here I am again leaning on a Ben Harper song for some feeling of connection that someone understands the emotions that are passing through me.

this term "underrated" is used all the time, it´s an inflation. Why? Who is underrating artists of his kind? When is such an artist not underrated? When he is known by everyone, playing in huge venues, selling billions of records? Do you want this? Ben Harper is not underrated. Neither by his listeners nor by the journalists or music industry. He is having constant success and has a large variety of styles and is still loved by all of his fans. Noone is underrating Ben Harper.

This mans music is on a different level then everyone else , always has been! I saw him live in the 90's . It only gets better as you get older kids.
I discovered Ben years ago, when I went to see Pearl Jam in San Jose, during their boycotting of Ticket Master era.
Ben opened for them.
From that moment on, I knew I was witnessing greatness. As far as I'm concerned, he is in the top 3 all time greatest musicians ♡

Look up T. Hardy Morris another great underrated musician I discovered them around the same time when I was a teen definitely two of my faves since and at the time Hardy fronted a band called Dead Confederate they're really good too.
