I have heard this piece or song so many many years ago as a young child growing up in the Philippines, as my father used to sing it. I have been away from the Philippines for 60 years and I am now 80 years old. As I still hear it being played, I remember my parents who have now passed away. They loved these music as I do. It gives encouragement, inspiration and love.

Heard this for the first time as intermission music during a tango event my buddy was dancing at. I though wow, but I could not find out the name of it til now. All I could remember was the tune was close to Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, now, ten years later, I finally found out the name of the tune and am enjoying it again and again. This happened with another instrumental I heard on a film some years ago, but could not figure out the name, finally found out that instrumental name was The Swan by Saint Seins.
