I love my Tucson. I got mine back in September. I purchased the value edition so I don't have all the things this one has, but I'm happy with my decision. I love it and I feel extremely safe in it. I also have a 10yr old who constantly gets car sick, but oddly in this vehicle she doesn't get sick. She falls asleep in it and loves going for rides.
The Tucson is just a little smaller than most in this class. But I think some people will appreciate that. It is a bit cheaper, more nimble and easier to park than some others.

I did a long 4k miles trip between highway, mountains, etc, and I can say it was really good and smooth. I agree with everything you said, the infotainment maybe not the greatest looking, but it works every time. Great video Joe
Wife had two Toyota RAV-4. Did some research on 2019 RAV-4 and was not impressed. Went to check out Tucson and a limited edition, gemstone red with cream/grey interior caught my eye. Really pretty inside and out very much unlike the one in Raiti's review. Fit and trim inside and out is very impressive and it drives nicely. Bought it, took it home, and my wife loved it!

This car is the best bang for the buck, I been driving Subaru's for 20 years (my last one "Crosstrek" was a service nightmare). Hyundai wins out in all phases of value, quietness, power, technology, comfort, it's well built (solid) and uses a real transmission instead of a noisy, dangerous, confused CVT. For the few times I need all wheel drive it does a good job in bad weather (I can manually lock the AWD to 50/50 by pressing a button, and get out of trouble). Overall its a real nice crossover/SUV.
Good point about black interiors in other vehicles being too dark. I love the Hyundai dash displays, they are practical and not too busy. The Tucson covers a lot of bases, excellent cargo area, decent acceleration, everything within reach. As always once you've bought a vehicle you can get used to quirks like the rear view mirror. Excellent detailed review as always!

I Agree with just about all of it because you seem to be fair & impartial when it comes to your car review's unlike some others here on UA-cam!...I was actually looking at this vehicle since this refresh came out for the 2019 MY, and decided to purchase it. "dusk blue". rides heavy and feels secure when you drive it. paid $25,500 for it. i got a thousand bucks off the initial cost because i am a veteran, had to show them my honorable discharge papers. glad we bought it.
Thank you for your service. I got my 3 weeks ago. It had one previous owner who only put about 3000 miles on it. I think they knocked down the price from 23k to 18k because my dad bought three SUVs from them recently and they also gave me $1000 for my 08 Pontiac G5 when it was only worth about $600
Great review. I like how you point out the design nuances. I observed the same things about the lines. My wife has been driving Santa Fe's since they first arrived in America. Your issue with the dark interior only applies to the Limited models with the black leather interior. The ones with the beige leather interior are two-tone and brighten up the passenger area substantially. On a side note, your video of the Night Edition sparked my interest in the Tucson and resulted in me purchasing the Limited trim. Thank you.
I bought this exact SUV a few weeks ago to replace my third sedan because I'm fed up with trying to drive in the snow. It replaced a 2008 Pontiac G5 (two-door sedan).
Only thing I don’t like about these SUVs is that all the companies are putting that flat unpainted plastic around the wheels n bumpers. After a couple years in the sun it will be faded and discolored.
Just bought a 2020 Ultimate (wanted the panoramic roof) yesterday. Because of the color (Dusk Blue) it has a beige/gray interior which is much better looking than the all gray. Only complaint would be is that when using the backup camera at night it is almost useless. The clarity is bad and the red/backup lights blur it even more. Other than that I love this car for the money ($37k. I opted for the GAP insurance which covers everything for the course of the payment plan.)
It's a beautifully made vehicle, like the brown exterior and interior. Hope it comes with the light beige/tan leather interior which is my favorite to go with the darker exterior. I like the belt-line around the vehicle, good full visibility, negligent front blind-spots. The noise decibels of outside traffic was minimal. I need to look at the Santa Fe and compare it with Mazda CX-5. Peace
@Steve Robertson yea I noticed that too today I had a interview and when I was headed back to my car I seen a Tucson in that light blue color from the back I couldn't help but to stare at it for a while almost wanted to take a pic gotta get me one for sure after I build my credit

The Tucson Ultimate has the ventilated seats.... I had to go up a trim to get them. (Basically the Limited does NOT have the panoramic sunroof, Ventilated seats, larger screen or the Nav.)
I am surprised this one had the smaller touchscreen- in the UK the SE Nav (mid range) has the larger display with more buttons. Also, the manual with the electronic parking brake has a better centre console design I feel.
Another great video. The design of the headlights as well as the fog lights reminds me of the Ford Edge. Hyundai is doing a great job with offering affordable vehicles with some style.

If the headlights were in a high position, I would have to go for the larger (safer) Santa Fe. My Hyundai Tuscon does pick up a lot of road noise and when Im driving on the freeway, it is impossible to hear the radio or telephone over the car speakers and there at 10 speakers! that is even with all windows rolled up completely. Does the new Hyundai have better road noise insulation?? Can you actually hear the radio or phone when driving at highway speeds? Your demo didn't show anything with radio or speaker sound.
5:40....There is no more 1.6T in the US. There is only a 2L and 2.4L NA engine. It's a shame really, because that torquey 1.6T was really good in this car. We still get it in Korea though!
John Holst they still have it in Europe too. I have it in my 2018 Limited Tucson and it’s a great engine. I don’t understand why it’s not an option in the US anymore.
Lee G nope, no issues at all. It’s just because of marketing. The 1.6T DCT is still sold in the rest of the world. The only country in which they stopped it is the US. That’s all. And that’s because Americans prefer torque converter while Europeans and other countries in the world prefer DCTs.
I'm digging the refresh, although Hyundai's again copying the European car designs, and in this case it's the Audi, like other's before me have commented. I was really impressed with the size & handsome looks until you had to go & spoil it for me with your steering response comment! Hyundai can try & steal Audi's sexy looks, but they have a long ways to go when it comes to matching the driving experience i guess. Btw, I viewed the new 2020 Ford Explorer ST last night, & Joe, that puppy is Smoking Hot! Definitely not a chick's SUV, that's for sure!! Can't wait for you to get your hands on one & tell us what you think!
Greg Holman you do know why "Hyundai steals from Audi" right? Hyundai hired away Audi’s head of design Peter Shreyer in 2006. Now he consults for Hyundai/Kia while he has been replaced by a former VW Group designer named Luc Donckerwolke. So the German inspiration runs deep.
@@monaharp783 Yes i was aware of Peter Shreyer but not the other gentleman you mentioned. But they had to do something, I'm old enough to remember back in the day when Hyundai came onto the scene & their top speed was 80 mph ( I'm sure you recall Rodney King & how he put Hyundais on the map with his infamous police chase back in 1991-92 & he couldn't go faster than 80 mph), & they were also unreliable pieces of crap that only poor people with bad credit purchased. (I know because I happened to be one of them at the time). But that all changed suddenly when the Koreans came to their senses, cut their loses & approached a German engineer to join their company. I have to tip my hat to them for making a such a brilliant business decision. I'm reminded of the old saying; "If you can't beat them join them")!!
Unfortunately the current Tucson doesn’t offer the 1.6t only the 2.4 it’s the only engine from the Hyundai group that I dislike but luckily if you want turbo power you can check out its sibling the Kia Sportage
Hyundai's and Kia's cant be unreliable with the warranty they offer. If they were unreliable they would be out of business! Good luck with you Audi or Volkswagen! Haha. You need to do some research my friend!
You made a mistake!! You say that the engine choice is between a 2.4 and 1.6 turbo. WRONG! The 1.6 turbo mated to the dual clutch 7 speeds has been scrapped. They changed it to a 2.0 naturally aspirated. If you’re gonna do reviews, at least check your facts. Not very professional...
Ben Boleyn the escape gets horrible reviews and full of cheap plastic and cheap parts like all other domestics. Poor fit & finish and will be redesigned soon. That would be an awful choice and an unreliable barf box at 100,000 miles not to mention it’s crappy warranty and hard seats.
Mona Harp got 200,000 miles on the wife’s 2008 Escape and put very little money in maintenance, yes there is a lot of plastic but I am looking for a car made in America and I don’t want to spend a ton of money on it or buy 93 octane gas either.
I'm waiting for the 2020, will likely see it this week at MN state fair. Ford brings all the new ones to event. Problem is they won't have any discounts on them til next year. 2019's are deeply discounts Ben.
@@RaitisRides Thank you for taking care of comments. I am sorry I didn't address your top-notch professionalism. Your approach on exterior and interior review of the car, it was so detailed and it was awesome. Great job.
@@christianmarcel7766 it's shorter. With a premium interior. If it has the same cargo room as the CX5 ,(at least 50 cubic ft) I will probably buy one. So...
Gregory Merritt the CX30 is really smaller, it can’t have the same cargo volume, in fact, it’s 430dm3 while the CX5 506dm3 and the Tucson 513. I don’t like the CX30 exterior design but that’s personal.
@@christianmarcel7766 I already know it won't have the same cargo room as the CX5. All I need is 50 cu. Ft. The Mazda interior and safety features will steal sales from Hyundai and many others. I'm not too excited about the styling but it's good enough for me. Not a huge deal.
The Tucson honestly seems the least impressive of all the Hyundai SUVs. It feels cheap for the Limited trim. It’s like Hyundai put all their eggs in for the Santa Fe & even more effort put into the Kona
Looks great just wish they would stop charging for safety features such as Lane keep assist pedestrian alarm stop cruise control with auto braking heated mirrors and heated seats LED lights these are all being sold his options you used to sell your backup cameras is options until the feds said that this had to be a standard stop waiting for the feds and be a responsible concerned for safety company this way you can post that you truly have the safest vehicles on the road if you sell safety as an option it only says you care more about money and less about the actual overall safety of your consumers that is distasteful and in my opinion Criminal
Hyundai is better than toyota and honda dont get me wrong i still love honda and toyota but look hyundai has better warrantee better design and better futures and better sound system
The "dumb paddles" that you continually reference in most of your reviews only serves to discredit your opinion. Some drivers not only like the paddle shifters, they seek them, and for good reason. Your reviews are comprehensive. Unfortunately, they are a bit too judgemental IMO.
Don't like the color...black or white perhaps ...still don't want the neighbor's to see it in my driveway..unless the H is for Honda...You compared this suv to about half a dozen other cars....so I'll just call it "Frankinstucson"and get rid of the iPad in the middle of the dash....Missed the price..but 30-35 k seems fair..less buy it...more I'll pass 181 HP...on a 3600 plus suv...wow...no skimping there...this is a starter SUV...not to bad. Lee G nope, no issues at all. It’s just because of marketing. The 1.6T DCT is still sold in the rest of the world. The only country in which they stopped it is the US. That’s all. And that’s because Americans prefer torque converter while Europeans and other countries in the world prefer DCTs.
What amazing video
They no longer have the turbo. Just 2 in line 4s. The bigger has 181hp.
I'm reminded of the old saying; "If you can't beat them join them")!!
very Audi design, because they hired that audi designer. that's started the new looks of hyundai and kia
No moonroof for the limited?
Nope, you have to goo ultimate.
Jae, you can get the huge glass roof as an option on the Limited, you do NOT have to go with the top of the line Ultimate.
@@ofcbob6391 no you can't on 2019.
thank you
You are so very welcome.
A good looker.
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
I believe Nissan seat are good too!
What is this color called?
Sage Brown!
No Turbo this year. 2.0L
HUH?
Unfortunately the current Tucson doesn’t offer the 1.6t only the 2.4 it’s the only engine from the Hyundai group that I dislike but luckily if you want turbo power you can check out its sibling the Kia Sportage
I have the UK 2019 - Come look at mine !!It is - Urm confusing
P.s We have the top model (( not owned - we wish but on hire purchase )
big guns is GOD!
ummm, how am I not supposed to say that this is the Santa Fe sport, renamed to be the tucson?
Not true
Does the Hyundai Tucson have Remote Start?
Yes
Raiti's Rides Thank you! I couldn’t find a video that said whether it has it or not
@@Asmodeus092 Through the app only. Not on the key fob.
Looked at a 2019 model yesterday but not sure how reliable the hyundai brand are....... Thinking AUDI VW SEAT MAZDA all better options
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you so much for watching!
Hyundai's and Kia's cant be unreliable with the warranty they offer. If they were unreliable they would be out of business! Good luck with you Audi or Volkswagen! Haha. You need to do some research my friend!
Nice car 👌
Can you review the new 2019 Jeep Renegade??
Yes, I will get that together for you!
Raiti's Rides thank you! I’m considering getting it
Who drives a Tucson and lives in Tucson?
Joe just so you I swear I said Audish before you!!!! LOL
Does anyone else find the steering terrifying?
I'd get the cx-5 or equinox , too underpowered for the price Imo.
Get a Audi R8 v10 plus if you want power
no power...…….in the 2.4...…...bring it in the 3.3...…...
I should say I said it before I heard you say it.......lol
You made a mistake!! You say that the engine choice is between a 2.4 and 1.6 turbo. WRONG! The 1.6 turbo mated to the dual clutch 7 speeds has been scrapped. They changed it to a 2.0 naturally aspirated. If you’re gonna do reviews, at least check your facts. Not very professional...
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
Barf bag lol
Thinking of getting an escape for the wife would love to see you review one!
Joe reviewed the 2020 already. Look for that one. Looks a lot different than the 2019.

Thank you for taking care of comments. I am sorry I didn't address your top-notch professionalism. Your approach on exterior and interior review of the car, it was so detailed and it was awesome. Great job.
Even though it's the perfect size, it's not my favorite. The new Mazda CX30 is going to kill this thing.
AGREED!
The CX30 is very small. Not the same category. So no, it’s not going to kill the Tucson. The CX5 is its competitor.
Very good points James!
You don’t like periods do you!? Lmao

A transmission that uses belts instead of gears!

Hyundai is better than toyota and honda dont get me wrong i still love honda and toyota but look hyundai has better warrantee better design and better futures and better sound system
Saad Malik Check out the KIA’s. They’re moved way up the ranks of CR’s reliability and customer satisfaction surveys. Always within the top 5 brands.
Would that include better re sale too? Do me a favour look up engine recalls hyundai vs a Rav 4
ask Scotty Kilmer
Looks a little Audish !!!!
The "dumb paddles" that you continually reference in most of your reviews only serves to discredit your opinion. Some drivers not only like the paddle shifters, they seek them, and for good reason.
Your reviews are comprehensive. Unfortunately, they are a bit too judgemental IMO.
Had to dislike this video. No key fob,MSRP, MPG. And Poor lighting.
I really appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you so much for watching!
To answer your opening question, absolutely nothing. They all look the same to me!
Don't like the color...black or white perhaps ...still don't want the neighbor's to see it in my driveway..unless the H is for Honda...You compared this suv to about half a dozen other cars....so I'll just call it "Frankinstucson"and get rid of the iPad in the middle of the dash....Missed the price..but 30-35 k seems fair..less buy it...more I'll pass
181 HP...on a 3600 plus suv...wow...no skimping there...this is a starter SUV...not to bad. Could be better ..
