- An original member of The New Seekers, Marty Kristian fronted the bend, even having his name as 'featuring Marty Kristian' for a period. His tales from his first cruise to the UK and playing with Bowie before either was famous make for a very interesting interview in the uCruise Doris Visits cruise podcast.
The second formation of the band with Lyn Paul, Peter Doyle and Paul Layton is the one that everyone knows. They taught the world to sing and drink coke after the big hit of Look What They've Done To My Song Ma, which was actually recorded by the original line up; Laurie Heath, Chris Barrington, Marty Kristian, Eve Graham and Sally Graham (girls not related).
He has many stories to tell.

Met Marty and the group when they were in Sligo back in the mid 70's. Highlight of my teenage years 🎉🙏
Loved The New Seekers saw them many times in concert. Marty was my heartthrob back in the day. Still a good looking guy.

Fantastic interview with Marty, thanks 👍First band I ever saw live were The New Seekers at a sat matinee at The Fiesta in Sheffield , that made me want to play and I’ve played in bands ever since , great memories x.
I was lucky enough to see the New Seekers play at Chatham Central Hall in Kent my first pip concert something I will never forget being age 11 I was mesmerised.💕

My first ever concert I saw was The New Seekers at The Royal Albert Hall. My mum wasn’t sure as I was quite young but it was great x.

Marty is a very good speaker, interesting to hear some of his stories. I would have preferred to have had more of this time of thing in the recent NS book, it was rather bland. I was hoping for more behind the scenes stories like these. I actually saw the NS at Great Yarmouth during that summer season, we always used to go there for our summer holidays and we went to a different show every night. I probably still have the program somewhere as I always used to collect them.
