I'm an LG fan for life for several reasons. I love the back power button. I wish they continued putting the volume buttons in the back as well, but at least you won't turn off the phone by mistake in the middle of a high stakes game! Knock on/off is also a big draw for me (and the reason why I prefer not to have an alternate launcher). Then there's the very simple feature of having a video button right on the camera screen instead of hidden in a menu (looking at you, Motorola). I don't want to have to do two additional actions every time I switch between photo and video. I want to be able to point the phone at the subject and take photos and videos without fiddling with settings. Quick memo is very useful, especially with the Stylo phones, and the selfie "flash" which is just a bright frame of white on the screen, is brilliant. I will look through your other suggestions just to see how they stack up to the K20 Plus. I have the G6 and my kids have the G3, but I'm looking out for possible replacements for when their phones stop working well.
I've now had this LG K20 Plus for 3 months, what I can say is it's better than a iPhone. I had it on me 2 weeks ago and it had dropped out of my pocket and into the mud, I didn't realize it was gone and had also accidentally ran over it, and when I noticed its disappearance ( note it was also heavily raining ), I went in search of it and called the phone itself to find it face down and vibrating in the mud, I picked it up and just rubbed all the dirt off of it with a towel, still works great to this day with 0 hiccups.
Donovan im not a fan of LG fan either but my Son Love's LG and Sony's me not so much. I have to say not bad for the price. I also agree with Honor 6. I will have to keep this in mind if he crashes his phone he has now. I think this Awesome for the price.Love that you guys are not bias and Review all Phone's keep up with the great finds really enjoyed this Deb.👍
Most people wind up with the cell phone unit they are spoon-fed by their carrier/provide. It never is determined by a cost comparison of some phone your carrier does not even offer.
Watching on my LG K20 plus cell phone right now, and personally I love it!Everything I need or do it's on this phone and it's fast and I can Facebook and get on the Gram & UA-cam of course.. and the camera is great, and for the security it has a fingerprint scannerand yes it works good as well I did a test with my daughter and my wife and it would not read their fingerprints only mine. And that is a good price only a hundred$👌 I got lucky and bought mine for 25 bucks because a friend just needed the money so I got it for the cheap cheap 💯🔥🔥🔥
im watching this on my k20 plus, have this phone for a couple days overall its a decent phone but theres some downsides, theres no fast charging and the phone takes a long time to charge. the k20 is only 720p for watching videos
Anyone using the LG K20 Plus in 2022? I'm using it with Olauncher, Opera and Adguard. The only downside is that it sometimes buffers UA-cam videos due to its weak processor. I wish so badly that there was another lightweight, five-inch-screen Android phone out there, but with excellent specs! Just like the iPhone Mini but for Android. There was a smartwatch CEO guy trying to pitch the idea, he called it "Pebble" "Basically, he wants a flagship that’s the size and shape of the iPhone Mini but running stock Android."
Just got this phone today. It's really a pretty decent phone for the price ($99 thru Metro), but the only gripe I have with this is the display. It's very dull. The colors are not vibrant and washed out. The Aristo, which is only $50, has a much better display. It's really the only thing that hampers this phone. And like in the video, it's not bright at all. On the ZTE Zmax Pro you can very clearly see everything at about 20% brightness, with 20% brightness on this you can barely see anything. Still a good phone otherwise, and has good battery life (mainly because of its cheap display).
+phaze wilson yeah, those were my same thoughts. So weird how the Aristo comes with a significantly better display considering the price difference. Not that the K20 has a terrible display, it's just not as vibrant.
Donavon Hornbeck Yeah, it's gonna take some getting used to. Love the phone otherwise though. The battery life is excellent and it's actually faster than my ZMAX Pro. The screen is small but adequate. Charging time is decent with a quick charger (about 2% every few minutes). Really satisfied with it so far.
This looks like a solid phone. No quick charge is a bummer though. Would you recommend this phone over the Motorola E/G series? Just got to the end where you mention the g5 plus.
It looks exactly like my current lg k20. Is there a difference between the lg k20 and the lg k20 plus? Im looking for a better camera then what i have currently (lg k20)
Yeah, what's really amazing is that for about a month this phone was free with a port-in to metroPCS. Now it's back up to $129 on metro, but still a great value for the money.
Hi can you tell me how to find the casting or mirroring to connect to the tv. I see the casting icon on apps like youtube but i want watch other videos from my phone using other apps on the phone without using a chromecaster or other devices. I have morpheus on my phone an love that app however cant get it to mirror or cast to my roku tv. Thanks
I got 2 lg k20 for free porting from cricket. I've had a lot of phones in the past, and to be honest this phone is actually a really good device. I love it.
Both Honor and ZTE have pretty good customer service in the U.S. The best way to get either of them to respond is to tag them in a tweet on Twitter, because they respond almost immediately that way.
That price for the Honor 6X is killing me lol. I have never used either device, but obviously at that price, the Honor 6X is hands down the better buy.
I think battery life is horrible on this phone. Within 45 minutes mine has gone from 100% to 80%. I have nothing running on this phone. The few apps I have are all updated. Brightness is at 42%. Basically all I've done is Google and this video. Mine is thru Verizon $7 a month.
I do manual labor and my phone gets his a lot. Which one would you recommend for toughest screen to take the most bumps? Motorola for the gorilla glass?
+Gabriel Torres yeah, and for my personal preference, Motorola is simply making the best budget friendly and mid-range devices. If you get a Moto G5 Plus I'm pretty certain that you won't be dissapointed.
+Jason Fahs I like the ZTE Zmax Pro personally. It might be worth waiting a few days though if you can, because Metro will be getting a new phone soon called the ZTE Blade Z Max, which is basically an updated Zmax Pro for $129.
+Richard Blancas if you want a good camera at a very reasonable price check out the Honor 6X or the Moto G5 Plus. The Honor 8 also has a fantastic camera and can be found at $250 to $300. The LG K20 Plus is a good phone, but I would recommend and of those 3 phones over it.
Donavon Hornbeck Thanks! i already had the moto x pure and really did not like it....it could not read alot of my files i had on sd card like movies and somethings would take a long time to load...every worked fine on my galaxy s3 and lg g3 put for some reason not my moto x pure...
Osha'love Lowery no, but it depends on how much pictures and apps you have on it, currently I've had this phone for at least 4 months, and I have lots of pictures, and only half the storage is full
After my daily driver iphone 6S outright died on me yesteday, and considering I could probably get 3 cheap but decent androids for the price it would cost to fix, if not more, I've been considering some of these slightly older budget androids that still have a fingerprint sensor. Currently daily driving a budget Moto E4 but despite only 2gb ram and 1.4ghz quadcore cpu, it remains pretty smooth thanks to the vanilla android I'm assuming. I actually used to daily drive an Honor 6X but had lots of glitches and hitches and lag in the end just doing daily tasks, despite an octa core in-house kirin cpu that people swore was way better than snapdragon cpu, and 3gb ram, it was less consistent than my $40 Moto E4 due to the Honor using a really heavy skin/overlay I'm assuming, heard the same story for the newer Honor 7x except later on the Oreo update supposedly fixed that phone's problems but the 6X kinda burnt me on Honor, as well as what another user said in the comments here, it's going to be hard to sell it since it's a niche chinese phone that not many people have even heard of honestly. I was lucky to sell mine online last year for what I could...it was forever stuck on 7.0 even though china got Oreo, I wasn't holding my breath on it ever coming to the US. Just weighing my options...I've seen used Moto G5 Plus for around the same price this K20 Plus goes for, I'm assuming the G5 Plus would be a hell of a lot better phone? The combo of octa core cpu and vanilla android seems like a nice pairing in the G5 Plus.
+Luis Yi they are so different it's kind of hard to say. It may be worth it to either get the Stylo 3 Plus or wait for the Zmax Pro. If I had to choose between the Zmax Pro and the LG K20 Plus, then I would personally go with the Zmax Pro. Definitely try the phone out in hand at the store firdt though, because it is definitely not a small phone.
LG k20 T-mobile WIFI calling yes. Honor 6X T-mobile WIFI calling NO ZTE Blade V8 T-mobile WIFI calling NO Which phone would you chose, if there cell network?
notice how his battery went down 3% in 9 minutes? and he was barely doing anything with it. no games, videos, music or social network apps. his bluetooth, gps, wifi, rotate all turned off. his screen brightness was only at 82%. doing the math, you will probably get about 5 or 6 hours of usage. when you look at the timetamp 5:24, you see the phone has been on for less than 5 hours and it has drained by 82% (strange coincidence). all in all, this phone is power hungry. be ready to have a charger wherever you go
Anthony Lopez Really? I just got the LG Aristo so I may just take this back and get the LG K20. I had an iphone 5s and just wanted to try android again. If I dont like the k20 I'll go back to iphone until I can afford a no more expensive android.
+Karina Sanchez i just use a different texting app. You can download any number of messaging apps in the Google Play Store. I personally use Google Messenger myself.
+jason200912 I won't disagree with you on the screen resolution, but the faster processor can make a big difference in the overall smoothness of your experience on a phone.
What else can you ask for a budget phone. ?? Now, if you want more features you have to pay more. It's like when you go to the hookers if you want more you pay more Lol
Both the LG K20 Plus and the LG Stylo3 Plus have a dim screen when viewed straight on. When viewed at an angle it's EXTREMELY DIM, just pure sht! Very annoying! Put it side by side with the $40 Verizon Moto E4 or $100 E4 Plus budget phones and you'll see that the Motos are so much brighter and more vibrant, it's a HUGE difference. That said, the K20 Plus is a pretty good budget phone otherwise.
yeah, I'm not a huge fan of LG screens honestly. It looks like they will finally up the game on the V30 with an OLED screen, but yeah, the K20 Plus and the Stylo 3 Plus are pretty dim screens.
+Gam Crazy it takes good photos in good lighting, but low light photos aren't all that great. You might also be the only person that thinks this camera is better than the iPhone 7's camera.
As much as I agree with you..Keep in mind that a good camera isn't always about the megapixels. But about the sensors. I really hate apple and IPhones. But IPhones have amazing sensors on their cameras (of course theres better) but since we're mentioning the IPhone 7. No. LGK20 plus has an okay camera but it doesn't beat the IPhone's camera
Why do so many of you people use a cell phone for your activity instead of a laptop?? What the fck are you thinking? The age in technology and you get duped into utilizing the wrong ass device to access the most awesome internet resource ever in history. What a massive social deception because I know so many people settle for this substandard setup to actually interface with when everyone could have a laptop. And please do not suggest the portability convenience of a cell phone over laptops is your reason because I get that but you nuts know you do most of your interfacing while you are at home. So at the very best, even though you carry your cell phone everywhere and you should (I do), the instant you arrive home you should drop this peon devise and advance yourself into the current century. Can you imagine walking into your friend's room and noticing a tiny small TV mounted to his wall bout the size of a cell phone? Well, you are that person with the tiny smart TV on the wall every time you reach format damn cell phone to do anything internet related when you're at home. If you don't have home internet, get the smallest plan available for your phone, and with the money you save there, it will pay the 30 bucks to have wifi at home. You will find yourself waiting till you get home to do many things on the net because the laptop is such a more advanced world IF YOU EVER WAKE UP TO THIS NONSENSE ABOUT USING DAMN CELL PHONE AS A PRIMARY INTERNET INTERFACE. PS by the way cell phones have a practical top-out value of about $275. TOPS. A dime spent over that for any walk-around cell device is a stupid waste of money and would be much better spent on a laptop upgrade or purchase. STRAIGHT-UP FACT. If you have spent 600 on a phone ever, you might be a moron.
@@grayeagle1000 I really appreciate your excellent analysis. So many people think to themselves "ah, I'll buy a $700 phone every two years" but never really examine precisely why they choose to spend so much money. For example Tracfone has the Samsung Galaxy A01 for $14.99, you could just pair that with their $14.99 a month plan and save so much money each year. Of course, some people have a surplus of income anyway, but it's surprising how many people willingly choose a $60 per month plan paired with an absurdly expensive phone that they most likely drop and screen-shatter anyway lol. Another interesting point is using a Chromebook instead of a normal laptop, so many chromebooks are getting clearanced for $99 lately, and they can do basically 90% of normal functions of a laptop. Chromebooks and Android phones pair together really well too, since they're essentially the same platform.

Yeah, for $80 this phone is a no brainer. Still wish it had a nicer screen though.
Nabeel Khan you got a 50 dollar plane included with your phone? Hell I need to know where I can get a plan like that ✈ ✈
Before we even start, where did you get that icon pack??
It's free right now for metro. What icon pack and theme are you using for the phone it looks really nice and they are spaced properly.
I bought the phone from offer up for $80 they were originally selling for $120

+jason200912 I won't disagree with you on the screen resolution, but the faster processor can make a big difference in the overall smoothness of your experience on a phone.
When ppl come high res 1080 screens there is a difference.
Why would you want a 720p screen... it's so outdated and ugly.
I want my icons to look like his. I downloaded the nova program, anyone have any idea how to get those icons?
+Syd S you have to download an icon pack called DarkMatter Vintage. It is .99 on the Play Store.
Donavon Hornbeck thank you
What else can you ask for a budget phone. ?? Now, if you want more features you have to pay more. It's like when you go to the hookers if you want more you pay more Lol
it depends on the hookers and the locations you go too haha
can it hold a 64gb
Yes it can.
Is tue k20 waterproof
Definitely not, the back is removable, so water can easily get in.
what launcher is that?
kamellion77 probably Nova prime
thanks a lot..
what Icon pack is this?
+Maniac5900 it is called Darkmatter Vintage. I believe that I paid $.99 for it in the Google Play Store.
Every budget phone has it's own good things about it that others won't that's how they sell... there smart ha
I dont have nova launcher on mines
Nova launcher has an action built in for knock off now!
Good to know. I will have to try that out.
I think its a galaxy I like it very much
im watching this on my lg k20
hey i bet your running nova launcher but i could be wrong
Yes, yes I am. It's pretty normal for me to run Nova Launcher on a LG phone, because I'm really not a huge fan of the LG software.
I have no idea what you guys are talking about
Me to
My lgk20 plus used to lag all the damn time after like 8 months of owning it
This shit fukin suks foo
This shit cracks easily
thanks bro nice review
+Estevan romero you bet. Hopefully it helps you out!
I got the lg k20 plus but got it for $175 not $200
+XDragon Gaming yeah, the price went down almost immediately after the phone was released
Don't think the K20 Plus has the SD435 8-core cpu you stated. It has the SD425 4-core cpu, which has much lower multi-core performance.
would you say 119 is worth the price?
For $119 I would say yes, but at T-Mobile I paid $200, and for that I would say no.
its a very cool phone
the speaker and pictures from your hike??
my metro pcs uses t mobile towers
That's what MetroPCS uses everywhere.
90 bucks in metro
+Rich Dead yeah, that's a sweet deal IMO.
This phone has a 13 mp camera... wot u mean it won't wow u, this phones camera is almost twice as good as the iPhone 7s
PLUS Phones are tracking devices majorly way more than a laptop any day.
I had that phone and it sucks lol
Lol my screen time plus 5 hours
Is it just me or did he download a skin?
Yeah he did. The base screen is very beautiful actually
phone sucks when back to Samsung.
Which Samsung phone did you go with?
"Micro SD" lol
I want the lg k 20 plus if you give me it I will give you money forever
