They aren't stopping her from getting down, she doesn't want to get down. She's been reared by humans for nine months she needs a bit of time to adjust.

I am cracking up about all the suggestions on how Sumomo should be raised& what her development should be at this time.I think her family knows best and I trust the keepers[who by the way saved both Momoko's life and Sumomo's too].I try to just observe and enjoy the gorillas.Happy Gorilla Watching to us all!😉💖🦍💝💐
I’ve laughed too. As I’d humans would know what’s best for a gorilla, nor they what to do with a human baby. We just all need to watch and learn. I love they all love her so much. ❤️❤️

I remember Momoka and Komomo jealous of each other, whoever had, Riki when he was a baby. One day, Haoko kidnaps tiny Riki, and everyone was mad and chasing after him, 😆. Now Riki wants Sumomo to himself. ❤

Who is nursing her? Her nose is dry and she should be far more active than she is...she almost 1 yr old. She should be walking and climbing and exploring. 🙏🦍💜
Renee Moreno-she is being fed a bottle in the closed quarters away from public cameras.this is only 15 mins in her 24hrs.
Sumomo is receiving bottles of milk from the keepers. When she goes inside she is fed by the keepers on the other side of the metal bars. I am sure that Sumomo explores while she is inside, but her family love her so much that they all want to be child minder. Bear in mind that they will relax more as the days go on the Sumomo will have the opportunity to explore then.

This is not her Mama. This female gorilla is her 13 year old sister Komomo who is the child minder for most of the time along with Momoko (who you do not see in this video) . Her big sister wants the baby all to herself and does a good job, but I think that baby Sumomo sleeps with her bio mother at night. Also Momoko is old and has just recovered from anemia and is more than happy that the others can be trusted to care for Sumomo.
You are correct, Momoko tried to get her at one point and was fended off by one of the kids
If Momoko really wanted to get Sumomo away from the other kids, she would. She’s no shrinking violet. 😂
Momoko often let Komomo take care of Momoka and especially Riki,when they were babies.She trusts her completely as her eldest,more experienced daughter. Natural behavior in gorillas. Momoko gets her baby if she wants her.

The baby is going to be slow in developing. She never gets put down so she can learn how to explore Her surroundings
See the thing with Momoko is that she would and wants to breastfeed her child but can't . All the other stuff Sumomo siblings can teach her . Momoko is still paying attention to everything . But she is feeling a little cheated . I don't blame her . .
I liked everything about this video except the music. I find it repetitive and distracting…I resolve this by turning the sound off because I know others like it. I would just prefer natural sound.

A linda Sumomo precisa ficar mais tempo com a Momoko, nada de Riki ou Momoka, ela não anda, Kintaro no tamanho dela era muito ativo, a Genki deixava ele no chão na palha, Riki quer morder, Momoka segura a Sumomo de cabeça para baixo, a Sumomo me parece assustada, ela precisa da sensação de segurança, ela precisa ficar mais tempo com Momoko.
