I have both Asad & Savauge Elixir. They are close enough for me. I sprayed 2 test strips its not much difference in the 2 to complain about. I also have Zanzibar, I really like it

I keep trying to like this more than I do. I'm getting something a bit medicinal. Kind of spicy menthol-ish, if that makes any sense. There is something in here that I wish was toned down so it was fresher. It is also noticeable to me in Oud for Glory. I havent smelled Sauvage Elixir, only the EDP. But this seems much harsher to my nose. I can tell it smells better in the air than up close but that kind of sucks. Anyway, not terrible or anything, just not as big of a fan as others seem to be. Dedrick, if you want to look more boss, turn the tester strip around. The part you’re smelling from is called “the handle” that’s actually the part you hold. You’re suppose to smell from the smaller end. Anyway, thanks for the review👍 👌🤜

I am pretty sure it needs to be macerated to get rid of the alcohol smell and unbalanced oil notes, i didn't have that problem with Alhambra TM line but i have it with Lattafa ana abiyedh and kismet Moscow, with Moscow its just too much alcohol and unbalanced, Rasasi hawas late 2022 batch i didn't smell anything i was so disappointed when i first got it, it's been macerating for a month now and huge difference but i guess they need more time 2-4 months, which now made me focus on looking into more of the Winter fragrances and let it macerate till winter instead of not enjoying fragrance in summer, i guess because i didn't know about that whole maceration process so i might just invest in a designer fragrance for now since they are already macerated
@@dedrickhicksjr hey brother thanks for the response, I'm from the Middle East, and i noticed many westerners on UA-cam look for clones which is excellent but ignore the original, i highly recommend you checking out Ajmal Shams (the OG) from the early 2000s when ysl M7 came out here people ignored it because it's a westernized Oud fragrance, Ajmal Shams was so hyped out to the point everyone bought it, the thing is with Arabian/Eastern houses the Oud in the fragrance is specified for example Old aged Indian oud is not the same as a Cambodian Oud, same with Musk and florals variety it's whole different market, But the majority of the new generation of Arabs now focus on designer and niche, the thing is there's so much of original here that are level of MFK or FM quality but waaaaay cheaper, i do have one fragrance that made me lucky with the lady's and lord have mercy the temptation it's like having Satan himself as a co pilot whispering to them lonely souls to sniff that man it works magic, unfortunately that fragrance I'll take to my grave LMAO and I don't know anyone who wears it and it never got reviewed, that's on you reviewers to figure out for me personally it got me lucky DAMN it's just not fair what it does to them poor thirsty souls MERCY
@@rakinchowdhury194 yes, I'm getting my Asad in couple of hours, I don't know how it smells like I don't know sauvage exiler but if the majority like it there's a huge chance I'll like it too, plus it's only 18usd, so what i learned from others about maceration is you spray 4 to 10 sprays and let it sit for 3-6 months or more pretty sure on the 4th month it'll be ready, some people don't put the cap on while its macerating, for me i cap it, i advice you to look into maceration, me personally when I'll get mine today, I'll shake spray shake spray shake spray, 7 to 10 times, then I'll leave it in the closet till winter every couple of weeks I'll shake it, and since the weather is hot I'll be getting winter clones like the OG M7 2002 and Versace man cologne and some lattafa and armaf and just let it sit and macerate till winter and when winter comes I'll get summer fragrances and let it macerate till next summer, clones are affordable and only price you pay is patience
I own Sauvage Elixir, beautiful, hands down the closest and best quality clone of this is Armaf Ventana, Beast mode and to my nose 95% replica of Elixir, give it a go.
Finally go my Lattafa Nebras Gold. It's so dam good 💯🔥👌. Thank you my good sir for telling about that one. Smell good fam, get it ✌️, thank him later 😁 Also got Paris corner killer oud midnight ecstasy. 🔥🔥🔥💯

My Asad bottle macerated for a while. Afterwards, that harsh alcohol opening died down and is no longer present.
