We did the race on a J/105. We randomly had dinner at the table immediately beside the two couples that chartered this boat (I see them here and there in the footage). This was the evening immediately after the awards ceremony. They were super interested in how we could "survive" that race on only 34 foot of boat when it was so rough for them. The gem of the evening, when they were at our table asking about the race... A crew wife from our boat askes them "Did you eat freeze-dried food, too?" (she had no idea the scale of Columbia at that time) "No. We had chef... but, he was dismissed." LOL I was hoping for some footage of them eating "not-freeze-dried" food. I'm sure below decks is grand.
@@adrienblanc2688 Hey Adrien! I was on your boat and Peter Becker was on ours. I saw you on the dock (I think) stuffing a torn spinnaker into a bag. It was pretty good. Despite a lot of chatter about it being a hard race when it was over, the conditions were much milder than I feared (and experienced in 2016).
