    Great documentary, good research- the only thing I’d like to point out; Goff AND Brady were struggling during SuperBowl 53
    That was a tough game, nobody could get anything going; Brady played slightly better, but not much better. They both threw 1 interception, pass percentages were not great, nether threw a touchdown. That game was only won by the run game

    I don’t think he was a complete bust with the rams, he made the pro bowl 2x with the rams and led them to the Super Bowl, the most success the rams have seen since the Greatest Show on Turf. He just didn’t fit what McVay wanted and the rams were treadmilling, so they traded him and all their picks to go all in for Stafford who clearly fit the McVay system better and they got a ring out of it. The lions used those picks to get Jahmyr Gibbs, LaPorta, Jamo, Josh Pascal and Ifeatu, all starters/stars on this current lions team. If and probably when the lions win the SB this will be the definition of a win-win.

      Fair point. I think many in the media after that first year with Detroit were quick to say he was a bust for the number one pick. He was successful in LA for the most part, but most gave the praise to the coach rather than the player. Hence why many were quick to call a bust after struggling the first year with Detroit

      Agreed! One of my fav games ever was Rams vs Chiefs on MNF. It was a total shootout between Goff and Mahomes! McVay inherited Goff too and like you said, he just didn't fit McVay's system.

      @ true, especially because the rams won a Super Bowl the year Goff left while Detroit went 3-13-1 then started the next year 1-6. Crazy what having a good team does to a QB, there’s a reason the Rams picked him 1st overall.

    You forgot to mention in the Seattle game he was the first QB to throw a perfect game in history.

    Calling Jared Goff a bust is like calling water dry. He was a very good QB with the Rams. Wow

    He never was considered a bust. The only year he struggled was his rookie year under Jeff Fisher.

    He wasn’t a bust lol. I like the guy and he’s definitely made a great comeback in Detroit but he wasn’t a bust. He had good seasons with the rams, was a pro bowler twice, and brought them to the superbowl. But he had a slump and didn’t fit with Mcvay and so the rams decided they needed to make a move now and traded a lot for Stafford. The rams got a ring and the lions got a number of picks that transformed into multiple players who’ve made it big in Detroit. While Goff has seen a great turnaround and been an excellent QB who’s earned Detroit’s love and respect. But he was never a bust.
    I know he’s not an MVP but baker mayfield would be a better fit for such a title given how his career seemed dead and now he’s doing pretty darn ok in Tampa Bay despite needing to fill the shoes of Tom Brady.

    Bust? Idk how you can call him a bust with Rams but ok.

    • @MetroStoriesYT
      @MetroStoriesYT  23 дні тому +1

      Many considered him a “bust” after year 1 with Detroit, and many considered him to be product of McVays system

      @ that 1st year Lions team was known well beforehand they were going to suck. Us fans knew it. New coach, new management, players, whole 9 yards. So for those to call him a bust is weird.

      @michaelbreaks331 it was the MEDIA who said he was bust, especially the trade with the picks. The casual thought he was a bust and that was general thought. They changed their tune since then.
      He wasn't a bust.
