i cant get over how much i love my 2024 yz450, only thing i say i wouldnt mind being different are the buttons the mapping, besides the placement the fact there is just a light on or off is the only thing that tells you what mapping its on, of course its setup for the phone app but still, i also hate the stock blue rims so i had to get the 50th edition
Man i just got one of these and broke it in last weekend, and its crazy how well they do everything. Especially compared to my 1999 YZ250, although my 250 is pretty nice. You would easily be top 20 on one of these.

I notice many riders seems to let off the throttle when approaching jumps , what happens if you pin it ? You could probably clear a few tall trees on that thing if you pin it over a big jump.

Also about the problem with the 2019 KX450 you currently have, check the thickness of the gasket that's between the case and the clutch slave cylinder. Make sure it is the correct thickness. Having a gasket that is too this will make the clutch act like it is slipping because basically it's like having the clutch lever pulled in a little bit all the time. I know this is a problem on the KTMs not sure if it will apply to the Kawi. Good luck and hope to see you on your own YZ450 soon. Also don't know if you have a lubricant sponsor but I've been seeing a new company called BLUD Lubricants sponsoring privateer riders and UA-cam channels. Check them out, maybe you could work out a sponsorship deal with them. God bless you brother!!!

Fuck yea dude, glad you liked that thing, i knew you would be pleased even compared to the 2t, that bike just turns, im having issues fitting on mine still at 6'2 but im thinking a bar change and some pegs will get me into the position i need to be. You can race that thing stock, truly it is an incredible jump forwards from the 22 which i wouldnt touch with a 10 ft pole compared to my 300 2t or your yz250. I think that if you end up going that route that 4t is going to help keep you in the game so you can let your training do the rest of the work. I love the 2t but for short moto sprints your showin up to the OK corral with a bowie knife. 2t is better suited to WORCS or NGPC where the weight will show late in the race.

I have a 22 yz450. I so badly want to love the bike but ive been on it 1.5yrs and still struggle on it. I switched to yamaha from kawi and i think im gonna go back to my kawi. I cant corner this 22 at all. Its so frustrating. Maybe its bike set up or maybe i just suck but i struggle on it for sure. I was High B low A class 8 yrs ago. I took 7 years off and ive struggled so much on this 22 that im still a vet C rider. Its robbed all my confidence
The 23 you think where you want to go and it does it. If handling on the 22 is your issue you try a 23 before going back to green. A lot of your parts will transfer over and you won’t have to get used to a totally different motor and suspension feel.
That was cool, looked really comfortable. Be sick to do a break down of the bike's you tried for a comparison. Think how good it would be with mapping and suspension.🏁🤙

That bike off the showroom floor is going to be far from ideal , most every shootout said you need to break it in correctly and tune it to your preferences .

The yz feels so much lighter than the yzf its crazy. i know it is lighter and a smaller motor but the difference in feel and nimbleness is insane

It’s like you’re doing a different sport going from the 22 to the 23, incredible difference, everything is easier on the 23-24

Since your trying new bikes i recommend trying the 23 or newer crf450r works or base crf450r.
The CRF models came in 5th place in all the shootouts .

This new YZ450F is known for not needing to shift nearly as much as other 450's . 2nd gear pulls to the moon .
I actually only shifted this thing a few times per lap, the motor is insane!

@@mattburkeen820 well it’s frustrating, to an extent. My favorite dirt bike I’ve ever owned was my 03 rm250 with very little work done to it. And like most kids I grew up on an rm80. It’s just like they quite after Ryan dungey left for ktm lol

Serious question: Dont you think you would do better in the 250 class on a 250f? I never understood that process.
Id figure, youd dominate and do really well, vs struggling every race to keep up with 450s on the 2 smoke.
Im a 125 guy, pretty much ONLY. so i dont have any relation to your situation of that level of riding.

I think if I were going to get on equal equipment it’d be one of these Yamaha 450s
I just rode a new kx250F , compared to Yz 250 I was not liking the lack of quick power, really have to wind them up .

the left t urn after the triple looks super tight. I cringe every time (thinking about me being the rider at your speed 😄).
It was tough to make that inside but this bike made it kinda easier than it should’ve been!
That bike off the showroom floor is going to be far from ideal , most every shootout said you need to break it in correctly and tune it to your preferences .
