Are you running fiberglass fenders or still metal? Your absolutely right about the price for wilwood brakes. When I wanted disc brakes for my 1st gen firebird, it seemed a no brainer. I bought front and rear for just a little more than what stock disc would have cost me. It stops way better, weights a lot less, and looks better too.
My 67 drag car has steel fenders and front end but my 69 street car has VFN fiber glass fenders, header panel, lower valance, core support and hood. I know it should be the other way around but the 67 is still super light at 2,700 lbs. Yes, the Wilwoods are the best way to go imo Jason. Thanks for checking out my video too 👍🏻
Hello Freddie, I did not weigh the difference between components but the weight savings was quite significant. My intention is to weigh the total package once all mods have been completed. The car weighed an even 3,020 pre modifications so I’m predicting it will be in the 2,850-2,900 range next time to the scales.
What rack did you use? I’m thinking of doing a rack and pinion conversion to my 68 and was wondering what the rack pivot-to-pivot and overall width dimensions should be.
@@stibiumev1586 ahh, ok. I just spoke to my buddy that owns GoFast Productions. The rack that I bought is a Flaming River. These are basically Ford Pinto racks just so you know. I believe Summit Racing sells them also. Let me know if you have more questions 👍🏻
Thank you Chuck, that’s very cool and much appreciated. I’m hoping to grow the channel so this really helps man ❤️ Building a car channel is not the same as building a Pool channel. This is way way more labor intensive. Today, I’m shooting the middle part of my next video where I’m fixing a water leak on my 67. This video will take a few days to complete which is very different than the 6-8 hours the Pool channel requires 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks again Chuck 👍🏻❤️👍🏻
@@ronsmusclecargarage4060 yeah man you can promote your channel and download any video you want in the promoter content section. Any videos even the ones about your hot rods.
fellow Michigander just amazing work hope to be that good someday
Thanks man 👍🏻
Had to learn as much as possible to do my own work. Been burned many times through the early years 🤷🏻♂️

How weight did you save with the manual rack & pinion steering

Are you in West Michigan?
Btw, I’m reaching out to GoFast Productions (where I bought it from) to get the actual name of the manufacturer for you so hang tight.
@@ronsmusclecargarage4060 I’m not. I’m down in SC.

@@backyardbilliards101 I did not know that 🤔 thanks for letting me know Chuck ❤️
I think the price difference is just economy of scale.
That’s probably it 🤷🏻♂️
Did you ever regret not holding onto the 69 SS you mentioned?
@@ronsmusclecargarage4060 Always it would have lasted much longer than she did.
@@ronsmusclecargarage4060 Actually if I am thinking of moving. If I get enough garage I may look for one as a project.
