  • Millions of Images (William S. Burroughs & Gus Van Sant)
...from the record "The Elvis of Letters" (1985).
An old collaboration between film director Gus Van Sant and William S. Burroughs. Copies seem to have been dug up in a warehouse somewhere...
Van Sant, best known for his work behind the lens rather than on the strings, plays guitar and drum machines, and then Burroughs lends his characteristic ramblings to proceedings, allowing his voice to be chopped and screwed accordingly.

Once got drunk with my friends in the woods the night I found this on CD. It was kinda pricey, with its "out of print" sticker. Well, that's the last time I ever got to listen to this on CD. Never found the thing. It must be in the dirt out there, somewhere. Thanks for uploading it.

damn....that sucks. I used to have this on 45rpm vinyl, lost it somewhere during the interim. Thanks for putting this up, it had been a while since I had heard it.
Another one I'd love to hear again was WSB with Sonny Sharrock doing a piece entitled "Soul Killer"........haven't heard that one in a while, either.

So did the uploader make this video? I think it's great, there's some amazing photos that i hadn't seen and I fancy myself as a bit of a "self-styled" Burroughs authority....really good work, anyways. loved looking at the Life (or was it Time?!?) article photos where he's wearing the jewellers loup, looking at the Gysin paintings...Great stuff!

This "song" still gives me goose-pimples...."I got orgasms I got screams"....Burroughs was a True Genius.
That's some cool-ass jazz guitar on this, too.

This was released on a 45 rpm, do yourself a favour if you can and listen to it at 33 rpm'.

"hipster bebop junkie" and "ah pook the destroyer" keep getting taken down by the twat of a copyright holder.. they pop up now and again though, the Burroughs stuff that I have up is blocked in Germany for some stupid copyright reason.

Late reply but Burroughs was more than a nodding acquaintance with "the etherial" mate, just saying 😊
