Good machine. Just got mine a week ago. Got it all the way down to the frame. I am repainting it (keeping it gray and black) and putting new tires and engine in. Got it for $30 without an engine and broken steering. Just need to be painted and put back together. It is a vertical 14hp, engine mower but I got a 16hp engine going in from the one my grandpa had 10 years ago. No deck but I intend for it to be utility and some off roading adventures. Already got 3 other machines for mowing anyway. :) P.S. I took mine apart because I wanted to clean and repaint so that way it won't rust out on me within the next 10 or 20 years.
Have an older version of the gt6000 craftsman mower, mine is in the process of getting converted to a mud mower, mine has the 20hp twin cylinder kohler commander and love the transmission gears the high and low is great for playing in the mud.
Any chance the deck will fit back on if you wanted to mow with it? I am wanting to put on ATV rear tires on my GT6000 for mowing traction. Thinking of 25x10-12 ATV tires, but not sure if my mower deck will fit, I do have 2" wheel spacers on as well for stability on hills.
That's a fine way to talk about a neighbor that is trying to be nice to you by giving you some spare parts. You'll be old and annoying one of these days and folks will be talking the same BEHIND your back.
I ain't doing all that stuff to mine i don't care about having all that just enough to mow grass and the womans field if i need to then i can. and i put a brush bumper i put on my newer old craftsmen i thought it would look nice an all that shit being on the mower but its in my way so i might just take it back off and leave it off What it needs is a more comfortable seat it takes me 4 hours doing the womans field sitting on that little hard seat then the springs don't do nothing

Next up I’m going to try to fab up a foot throttle. Should help to be able to push it past the governor when needed.

Happy to report that the deck still fits and is currently installed. I mowed with it Thursday 😂

Thanks! 19x7-8 in the front. 26x11-12 in the rear. I did have to trim front and rear to fit them.

Where did you get the lights
The bulbs I got from Oriellys and I just cleaned up the lenses with simple green and a good scrubbing and they came out nice.

Thats got to much oil in it or has a leak but looks like to much oil it'll burn it off though

The seat from Northern Tool is a big upgrade over the original hard plastic.
