Work to remove Ferragudo stranded boat continues

A 35-metre-long boat stranded at Ferragudo’s Praia Grande is proving more challenging to remove than first thought.
The boat washed up on the beach on January 17 and, soon after, a specialist company was hired by the boat’s owner to prepare the craft for its removal. But on February 14, a team was still busy at the beach working out the best way to remove it.
Two other smaller sailboats remain stranded at Praia Grande but are also expected to be removed soon, according to local parish council president Luís Alberto.
