Slow clocks are the most important ones on this list.
I tend use use the slower clocks more too.
@@cubeprospector An observer pointed at a copper block is a good timer for a farmer build, although it's not perpetual. you occassionally have to scrape the copper block with an axe.
@@walterbunn280 you can wax the copper to negate that problem :)
@@luischaboii8990but then the clock wouldn’t work and the whole point of him saying this would be stupid. Hope this helps!
@@walterbunn280can you put an axe in a dispenser on a slow clock slowly scraping it?
The dispenser/observer clock is super helpful for getting rid of the bows from a skeleton spawner. Great video, checking the newer one out right after.
Yes! So many bows to get rid of in those farms.
I'm still surprised you're still replying till this day. I'll be saving this video for any future projects. Thanks for the info! 👍
I’m happy people are enjoying the video so I’m happy to comment back in the comments!
very interesting, 4:27 i did not know that could happen, i also know that zerotick clocks were removed a while back. As for for a redstone clock that is very simple and only needs 2 redstone is a boat pressure plate clock, this clock is very good for iron farms for skyblock or any other map where redstone is hard to come by, very cheep and you can get redstone by killing witches
A boat pressure plate clock. I’ve got to look that one up. Interesting!
Will definitely be referring to this video in the future! I suck at clocks and this made it a whole lot more understandable.
Thanks! I like having these documented for reference because I never remember them all. 😂
@@cubeprospector good thinking!
Also you can create sculk sensor and trapdoor clock! Maybe little bit noisy but still usable
I need to play more with Sculk. Good recommendation.
Oh nice! I like the variety of dispenser clocks!
Ya, I thought I’d always just use one dispenser clock but then I find myself ‘squeezing’ them in the craziest spaces.
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I REALLY needed a repeating signal for a fireworks show I wanted to throw for my friend whose out-of-country for the 4th of july and having multiple options to work with was a god send!!!
Yay! Glad it could help and that sounds like such a fun thing to do for your friend!!
12:44 exactly what i was looking for, thank you.
Yay! Glad I could help.
What’re you using it for? Just curious because I’ve been slowly trying to get better at red stone and want more ideas no matter what they are
@@cubeprospector how can i stack and autorepeat this
For the first one, just place a piston under the redstone torch to insta break it
Good tip. I’ll have to try that one.
thank you so much for the dispenser ones. i now dont have to shuffle through and dump the armor out of my skeleton farm anymore!!!!
Yes! Those are great for that purpose. Glad it helps.
Thank you! It gives me many ideas to my systems.
Yay! Glad it can help.
the video i was looking for, thank u so much
Yay! So glad you were able to find it and it was helpful.
This was very useful, i just came back from redstone and minecraft retirement, thanks ❤
Yay! Welcome back. Redstone can be so fun and challenging.
I remember when Etho (EthosLab) first put out his hopper clock video. I've never known him to steal other people's designs, especially without credit. The design is definitely his.
Ya, that hopper clock has been around for so long and still works amazingly.
@@cubeprospector And you stole it without giving him credit
Was mentioning him as the one who created it not giving him credit? 🤔
@@cubeprospector Of course it was. You were just not sure, and I offered some historical confirmation.
@greybeardmc I was meaning Travis’s comment.
Thanks for the video, very entertaining
Glad you enjoyed it
How would you extend a the time of an on off signal in and out timmer. I have a large multi item storage that needs the clock to continue for awhile after the last item goes into that portion of the soarter.
In the past I had a similar problem and I used a ‘one-time’ hooper clock that was triggered when an input chest became empty. I have a tutorial for the different hopper clocks if you haven’t seen the one-time kind. ua-cam.com/video/jrMVuKe1ynk/v-deo.htmlsi=G7_quFSpz-y3aunm
@@cubeprospector thanks for that link. i have literally no idea how you made it activate on an empty chest that already ahs items going in and out of it. not sure where to even put a device like that. I am using the latest multi item storage from silentwisperer that has an auto on that I would think I could link to some how and make the torch stay on longer after the last item goes though but im really bad with redstone haha. thanks for your response
The 5 minute one helped me, thanks
Yay! Glad it was helpful!!
What a great tutorial. Thanks.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
I have question for clock at 7:00
This might sound like a dumb question, but how come both piston not pushing agains each other when both hopper has the same amount of item?
Like example hopper A has 64 item so it pushes the piston since the signal is stronger, but when hopper A has less than 32 item why the piston from hopper B not pushing back since now B side has stronger signal?
Is it just the design of the piston that it cannot push another activated piston and can only wait for the other piston to deactivate
Great question. Since both are pushing, one will only retract when its hopper is completely empty.
Not all clocks, but nice set. The first one should be mentioned as bad design. Everyone should go 4th design for simple clocks. As it never burnout and can be turned off easily. And it is cheaper in resources. You don't actually need second repeater. Only if you want to lengthen the period.
The design of long clocks is funny. But it can be done without pistons at all. So it will be quite.
Ya, it’s crazy how many different clocks you can actually make in Minecraft. I bet I could make a second video with all the ones I didn’t cover and have almost the same amount again.
What’s the ratio of blocks to time for the etho clock? How many items would I need for 25 seconds?
A hopper passes an item every 0.4 seconds. So that’s roughly 62.5. Unfortunately you can’t get exactly timing with anything hopper related.
The five minute timer was instrumental in both Deck Out 1 and 2
I didn’t know that. I should go look deeper into what he did there.
@@cubeprospector he used it to make sure noone could enter before items had despawned after a death in the dungeoun
That’s a great idea!!
@@cubeprospector Yeah, Tango is pretty smart
@@cubeprospector OH, by the way. I haven't thanked you. I needed a clock for my flower farm and you really delivered. Thanks!
What texture pack do you have
I built my own pack to texture crimson wood products to be a grayscale version of the spruce products for my AchromatiCraft series (it’s all gray).
Can we make a clock without repeater
Just redstone dust and redstone torch, 🤔
Possible? 😅
You bet. You’ll need two redstone torches, two blocks, and some redstone dust. Put one block down and put a torch on the side. Next to the torch run a couple redstone dust in a line. Place a block at the end with a redstone torch on the side and then redstone dust on the side of that torch running back into the side of the original block to form a loop. The two torches basically turn each other on and off. You can make the loop as big or small as you need it, just don’t let the two redstone dust paths connect. Hope that makes sense.
Those are awesome. I have to try them
Yes! There are so many different ones to use. Let me know how you use them!
Love the Video
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
at 5:49 did you mean etho bot like the youtuber?
Yes, EthosLab on UA-cam. He designed this a long time ago and people reference them by his name to give him credit.
Ok
Thank you very much
Thanks for watching. Hope it helps.
THANK YOU, I OWE YOU MY LIFE
Glad this can help!
i love it
Yay!!
Well, I have another clock in Minecraft so you are wrong about all clocks in Minecraft here buddy sorry but I have to do one more clock. It does probably cost the most, but it is worth it to see the man of folk on this clock. I have no idea what I just meant by manifold but yeah.
😢
There are so many clocks. I’ll definitely have to do a part two for this video. Would love to hear what your clock looks like.
is there anyway to do it underground? i didnt do it above in my server
These will work anywhere there is room for you to build it. Keep in mind that you have to be ‘in the area’ for them to be running. (Like if you put it on a farm)
increíble, muy útil gracias
Thank you for watching!
is there a dispenser clock that doesnt need side access ? so it can go directly behind ?
I use the sticky piston version. Or did you mean something different?
@@cubeprospectoryeah it’s all good mate I have used ur piston one and edited it to make it fit thanks for the tutorial 👍🏻
I dont know if it still works but you could make a boat clock
I’ll have to try that one. I’m not familiar with it
Wait u really reply to every people comment on ur video?
I try to reply to as many as I can but I’m not perfect at it. Thanks for noticing. 😄
Bedrock?
Most, if not all, should work on bedrock. There are some behaviors that change in bedrock but most of these are simple enough that they should work.
@@cubeprospector never expected you to comment but thanks!
6:00
Etho hopper clock. Love using those.
Can I show you what I am building?
I’d love to see what you are building. Do you have a video or images on social media somewhere?
@@cubeprospector oh I was trying to build a sugarcane farm from 1.7.10 but the redstone clock was a bit confusing because I did not know where to connect the redstone
wow, I didn't realize there were these many clock types. I normally use the same one and it doesn't always fit. So glad you created this video!
Ya, there are so many and I’m sure there are even more that I missed.
Excellent!
Big fan of the hopper clock, especially for dinging note blocks in allay farms. That way, it only dings about every 40 sec or so, instead of a constant noise from faster clocks.
Ya, I end up using a lot more hopper clocks than I thought I would. They come in real handy.
Same bro , infact I am building an allay clock right now
6:00 Hopper Timer Start
6:46 Hopper Timer Finished
Your video is easier to understand than that of most other Minecraft UA-camrs!
Fewer 'useless digression', and a cozy voice makes my watching experience even better.
Thanks for the kind words! Would love to hear any other topics you think I should cover?
This video helped me imensely, I used it to fix some farms that weren't working properly. Cheers mate, great video!!
Glad it was helpful!
You missed the very simplest clock, which also happens to be the simplest slow clock - a daylight detector.
Good call out. They are a great 10 minute timer due to the day/night cycle. Gets a little tricky when you sleep but for most things you’d use it for it, it wouldn’t be a problem. Great call out. Thanks!
Why does the first one doesent work on bedrock when i try to break the torch even if i do it in a second it just looses all signal
The first one isn’t great on bedrock or java. Good to go with another version.
my clock doesnt work what do i do
Which clock are you trying to use?
Obrigado. conseguir resolver meu problema de forma simple por cousa do seu video.!
Fico feliz que este vídeo tenha ajudado. (Google Translated - Original: I'm glad this video was able to help.)
I’m making a simple auto bamboo wood farm but no nether so no quarts for observers. Therefor I watch this video to learn slow clock. Mostly commenting for algorithm. Thanks man
Thanks for watching. I love those bamboo farms. What kind of a harvester are you building?
@@cubeprospector no water because some of the dropped bamboo would stick on the ledge of the dirt block. I do a line of dirt with bamboo on, then behind that I do a block, then a piston and then an observer(observer has red stone behind). Then under that I have a rail cart loop with a mine cart hopper which picks up thru floor and puts into chest.
What a great and easy to follow video! I will definitely be using these clocks now that I better understand them. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
This video really helped me alot! Thank you so much!!
Yay! Glad it was helpful.
You have no idea how many videos I had to look through to find one that worked, thank you
Yay! Glad you found this video.
thanks you helped my build
Yay! Glad it helped.
Do you know how to make a 6 minute clock? Im desperately searching rn xd
That’s a good question. Let me see if I can think of something easy. Normally I’d say chain a couple of the longer ones together but that can get complicated.
@@cubeprospectori chained 2 hopper clocks but i dont know how much items to put in there
Hey, I figured out how to make a six minute timer. I’ve got a tutorial coming out on Monday.
The chicken will spawn an egg doesent this egg trigger the plate?
Great question. If it’s wood everything will trigger it (eggs will trigger it). If it’s stone only mobs and players will trigger it.
Ty
Your first repeater clock is really fast. By connecting both sides to a dropper, it drops 5 items/second. The double observer clock is only 3.32 items/second. This repeater clock can easily be started with an observer. It is possible to connect both sides using diodes (more repeaters, half slabs, ect...) to combine the signal. The combined signal has the appearance of never turning off but it works.
Wow, that’s some great technical detail. Thanks!
So many clocks, and I still didn't find the one I need.
I need a long duration clock (1 minute) but it needs to get back to its starting state as quickly as possible. An etho hopper clock can take up to 30 seconds to reset when it's set to 1 minute cycles, so that one doesn't suit my needs. And the other ones are too fast or have other issues :(
Let me see if I can come up with something!
THANK YOU I REALLY NEED THIS
Yay! Glad it helped!!
You forgot the simplest clock: just a comparator. But it's a real fast clock. Just take the output of the comparator and plug it into the side in subtraction mode.
Good to know.
great vid! thank you!
has anyone ever told you that you sound EXACTLY like Josh Clark from the "Stuff You Should Know" podcast?
Really?! I haven’t heard that before. I’m looking up that podcast right now!
when i say that this video has helped me alot, i mean ALOT. it explains well and shows how it works, something i cant really find in other redstone videos, i finally understand the mechanics, thank you so much!
Yay! So glad to hear it was helpful. Redstone can be tricky to learn so I’m glad this could help
Don't use the dispenser in the dispenser clocks, use the dropmer
Good call out!!
I love dropmers
With the sticky piston item dispenser clock, is it normal for the piston to constantly flip on and off if items are being fed into the dropper from a hopper? If so, is there a method to feed items into the dispenser fast enough to not toggle off in-between each item?
Great question. Let me look into that one.
Can't believe you didn't do the one that just has a powered comparator feeding in to its own side in subtract mode for a super fast clock.
That’s another great clock! So many clocks I might have to do a part two.
Tip for the first two. If you put a redstone block with a one block gap between it and the redstone dust, and then put the redstone torch on the block it will lit up just enough to activate the clock
That’s a great tip. I wasn’t aware of that method. Thanks for sharing!!
Totally not planning out how to blow up a server, what do you meaaaaan? I'm just seeing how long an etho hopper clock lasts
lol… I won’t tell anyone. 😅
Can someone link a video that explains why the observer based dropper emptying clock works? I don’t understand how it fires the dropper despite sending a signal into the air above. Does the air become a powered block?
Oddly the air becomes powered which in turn powers the blocks around it.
@@cubeprospector Thank you!
ty man we all needed this video!!
Glad you found it helpful!
Great Video. Really helped me with my redstone builds. I would have just one question. Is it possible to make the Etho clock toggleable? It would be the perfect clock for my current build but i need a toggleable clock
Yes you can! My latest redstone tutorial about hipper clocks has it included. You can check out my video list to find it or here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/jrMVuKe1ynk/v-deo.htmlsi=5Ymlz1185wy5vkvN
@@cubeprospector Thank you
Wow, I had no idea Redstone torches could even burn out
Ya, it’s a fun little mechanic to play with.
Now we’re going to place a repeater on both sides *places a comparator on both sides*
Oops. 😬
THANK YOU!!
You're welcome!
More clocks
So many clocks!
I'm gonna try to implement a flip flop in minecraft after seeing this video
Yay! Let me know how it works.
why does my clock just stop after 3 -4 seconds
Which clock is it?
🎊 600th subscriber 🎊and thank you for the tutorial
Yay! Thank you for becoming my 600th subscriber!! And glad the tutorial was helpful.
The simple Y clock will not work on Xbox. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately there are some redstone differences between the two versions. Bedrock redstone doesn’t always power through blocks like on Java. I hope they fix that difference. Try double checking your repeater on different ticks. If it’s not that then it’s probably the way blocks power other redstone and you’ll need another clock type.
Nice tutorial. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
the dispenser clock doesnt work for me at all, it sends the signal but the dispenser doesnt dispense
Hmm… are you on bedrock or java?
Thanks!!!!
Hope it helped!
@@cubeprospector it very much did!

What is the purpose of the block at 2:44 ?
It helps power and unpower the redstone torch to make the loop continue to work.
I wanna have something that gives a Redstone signal every 30 minutes, do you know one?
Hmmm… I don’t have anything off hand. But I’ll see if I can think of something.
