lol…been there so many times with the return spring on the needle valve. Got it down to a science now. Easiest to put the spring in, then put the needle and arm on the spring and slightly compress with your thumb. Then, put the rod through and again hold it with the thumb and put the screw in. Believe me, it took quite a few carbs to figure out that trick!
Hahaha!! I had such a laugh when it happened because I was just saying how I've lost a bunch of tiny springs like that, by them doing what they did. Oh the irony!! 😂 The springs like that I've lost, was working on vintage cameras, and lenses.. you don't expect a spring and.. "welp, this was an experience!" Heh. Thank you! It was a really exciting moment when the engine fired off.. I don't think there's a clutch on this particular model, as the head even turns when just pulling the cord, and springs back when turning it by hand .

Honestly, no. The issue was actually that the line I used was just simply too small, so I changed to a larger diameter fuel line.
