    I think that solution 2 would work better. This way there's no point in using the sword guys, if he doesn't have more hp. And I think this would add a lot more depth to the combat, if all the characters are balanced. But other than that, this system seems very unique, and exciting.

    i really like all of the unique aspects of your game so far!! one thing i will say is the character swapping feels like it doesn’t fit at all especially since it’s just swapping how they look and the weapons which could easily just be fixed by having 1 player that can use all of the weapons but that would have some draw backs as well so it’s a hard spot to balance. i’d say maybe add characters that follow you and attack on their own however AI like that can be really hard and it’s your game man so keep up the great work!!

      I plan on adding an actual animation for switching which should make this better, I also have thought about ai characters and responded to a previous suggestion with this, which I'm just going to insert here:
      I feel that doing this would make the game really cluttered, and also, I've played some RPGs which do similar things to this, and it can be frustrating making it so that the other characters can die out of your control, which can make you lose battles, but doing the inverse and making them dodge every bullet or not take damage or whatever feels cheaty and also you could switch characters to escape from damage if this was the case.
      But I will keep all these things in mind as I continue, thanks for the feedback and support!

      IDK about how long it'll take, my original plans were very ambitions and if I follow them it will be many years (like 5 at least) so for now I'm just going to make a mini-version of the game and then go from there

    Look really good! About the snail enemy, it looks like a slot machine, but it shoots cards, shouldnt it shoot coins?

      Its sort of casino themed in general, I had more ideas for card projectiles then coin ones, although maybe some coins in a different attack would be a good idea. Also the name slow roller kind of sounds like a slots thing but is actually a poker term, which sorta connects the concepts I think

    I feel like it’s a little unfair to the enemies that you can switch between players is over powered, you should pick which play you want to use before going into the bullet hell version of the fight

    I think you need Megaman Battle Network's Gauge system
    So you'll have a time to change strat per turn

    why not make it to where you can swap character like old lego games and the un controlled characters can use ai to follow and attack

      Definitely considered this, but the issue is this isn't a Lego game, its a bullet hell. I feel that doing this would make the game really cluttered, and also, I've played some RPGs which do similar things to this, and it can be frustrating making it so that the other characters can die out of your control, which can make you lose battles, but doing the inverse and making them dodge every bullet or not take damage or whatever feels cheaty and also you could switch characters to escape from damage if this was the case. So I'm going to continue with this, but I want to try to add some animations to switching and also a decent length cooldown.

    sorry but you went with the worst option regarding the combat- the second option would make the game way more fun, and the first option kinda babies it up and makes it generic-

      We'll see, right now I don't want to over complicate everything, but if you are right and this decision noticeably makes the game worse, then I'll try out the other options.
