The Chalet-des-Enfants is a public park in Switzerland. It is a special place in the middle of the woods of Jorat, a place where city dwellers rediscover their peasant roots, where children play next to pastures where cows graze, where cyclists and riders have put down their respective mounts to take a good time. But it is above all a place with a history of more than six hundred years.
an area in the municipality of Lausanne, between Le Mont-sur-Lausanne and Le Chalet-à-Gobet, at 843 meters above sea level, in the bois du Jorat.
A former agricultural estate, the place has been inhabited since the 14th century and bears the name of Chalet-des-Enfants from the 17th century. Formerly owned by René Auberjonois, the estate was sold by the painter to the city of Lausanne in 1917 for the sum of 65,700 francs.
