- In this video we travel 219 miles to spend 3 nights at Concierge Camping near Chichester. We've watched many video's and read all of the reviews on this place and we wondered 'is it all it's cracked up to be or just clever marketing'?

Great review Dave and Helen, not our cup of tea but I guess there must demand. We have had great nights on CLs and CSs for £10 a night! Stayed at a site in Holland a couple of weeks ago, amazing facilities, superb showers with towels provided for less than £20 a night!

We have just bought a caravan after trying holidays under canvas. Enjoyed your assessment of the more upmarket side of campsites but in spite of what you said I don't think I would pay as much for three days. Keep up the good work!

(saving up my pennies lol) Wd love it if you cd mention how far the local pubs are when you do a site review..cheeky request but vital info I reckon lol. We’re just back from our second visit. We were about three pitches back from you. Our pitch was quite wide as our van is 8ft and we had the same canopy on and we had lots of space. However last time we stayed on pitch number 1 and our canopy was up to the pitch edge. It’s great for a once of year treat. The bar area has a lovely ambience and the Japanese street food is lovely. I wear earplugs to sleep so I don’t hear the news.

Our old stomping ground Chichester and surrounding area for weekends in our caravans when we lived in London. Wow ramraid in sleepy old Bosham.

Great stuff! Like the outside seating area and food, but for that price I think I'd expect them to come and service my loo before washing it and returning it, same with the pooch! (collection & delivery)! 🙃
Needless to say, a bit overkill for us, especially as we're going more certified sites these days.

Beautiful place guys we’ve yet to stay in one of those places , id want a massage and a hot tub on one of those emperor pitches! Immaculately kept though , can’t believe a cop chase went pretty much past your van 😂

I found it quite easy to get up there from the main road….it wasn’t a scary caravan ride..

Hello Dave and Helen. The swift caravan you are looking at is very similar to our 2022 Coachman VIP 575 in layout. The fridge opening on 2 sides is just a gimmick! Not really of any use! The other major consideration is the fridge external vents. If like us you like the caravan door left open in good weather the door opens onto the external fridge vent causing the fridge not to cool properly. If fact we had to throw food away last summer, due to the fridge being too warm! Also check out if you have a bedside knicker drawer!! On the thin wardrobe side our coachman does not! Not the end of the world but inconvenient!😂Our advice is... If it isn’t broken don’t fix it! Yes you would have a shiny new van.. but not necessarily a better time away! Keep up the good work! Hi, thanks for watching, you pitch your own van at Concierge. It’s Bath Chew Valley that pitch your van. We didn’t like it there, but Concierge was great 👍
Well Dave and Helen we’ve never seen anything quite like it. It’s really very nice and very posh with lots of thoughtful touches. They really have thought of everything apart from hardstanding pitch width, but the privacy hedges and total pitch width is excellent. Safari tent pitches perhaps not for us but agree with you about being handy for families. You certainly get what you pay for here and the facility block is like a ⭐classy hotel ⭐. The cassette cleaning machine is spot on and I would like to try one. Would like to try the Japanese food too, being a fan. Bella seemed to enjoy her shower, she takes it all in her stride and never batted an eye lid bless her. We enjoyed the tour very much and would like to try this site one day. Hello again Rob & Gail, we were very pleased with our stay and the Concierge team were excellent. Not something we would do regularly but would certainly go again for a treat. We visited this site Christmas 2017 and paid£55 per night. One very important thing we found. You have to remember that no matter how good the site is, no matter how well the site is cared for there is no accounting for who you are sharing the facilities with! We found poo on the toilet seat most days! This was absolutely no reflection on the owner’s. They can’t run in every time someone has used. You would hope that spending £55 a night would give you a better experience but don’t be fooled! I now carry Dettol wipes in my toiletries.. as you never know when you will need them!

Looks a lovely site, bit more than what we want to pay as we don't do less than 7 days.
One site we love not cheap but a price we are willing to pay and that's old Oaks in Somerset. Brilliant takeaway every night if you want it. All fully serviced and the area is fantastic, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge not far away.
Guess what they also have a cassette cleaning machine as well.

For your gray wast piping you can cut a selection of Y shaped sticks from the hedge rows get you or of a problem 👍🏻

Having just returned from a two week French road trip normal UK sites are way over priced for what you get. This one is just crazy money.

It certainly does look fantastic but, you definitely need to get across to France for starters. You will find equally fantastic sites for at least a third of the price you paid here. We paid 27 Euros per night on a site in Brittany in June 22, which included our own private washroom with shower and toilet which wouldn’t have been out of place in a top quality hotel. Towing in France is a piece of cake too, as drivers tend to be more disciplined and less aggressive than here in the UK.

Immaculate site but a tad gimmicky and must be one of the most expensive sites in the country. However the sites we know of but have yet to stay on eg: trethem mill, carnon downs( now m and c club site) , carnyvick, tregarton park, trevalgan, gwinear and Padstow holiday village and 5 star sites at less than half the price. And the ones we have visited ie: polmanter, Lincoln farm park, Ross park and our favourite ' Dornafield in South Devon are brilliantly immaculate sites for less than £45 a night in peak season. Our local site lakeside park in Lincolnshire is now £75 for Bank holidays per night so we no longer visit.
Hi Tracey, easily the dearest campsite we have stayed on but also for us the best by a country mile. TBH though, it’s not the sort of campsite we would visit regularly, as you point out, there are some great value top notch sites and we have found many of the CL’s and private sites offer great value and lots of unique, personal touches. Have used a couple of sites in that area that suited us better as Concierge is not for us, regardless of price, undoubtedly it could be justified for a special occasion. Having said that, we have used the Goodwood campsite a few times for the Festival of Speed and it is more costly TBH, but then probably to be expected. I guess you did not get to the Tangmere museum, well worth a visit and as you say Portsmouth is nearby with some great attractions. Maybe one day we will be tempted, I know someone who has a taste for Champers……

I like your videos of Norfolk they are very useful with good camp site information. We live in West Norfolk next year we are looking plan a 3 week tour of Norfolk and Suffolk could you recommend a site in the Woodbridge area please?
Hi Rod, many thanks, that’s kind of you to say. There are some lovely Norfolk/Suffolk sites. We’ve stayed at 2 sites near Woodbridge. Run Cottage (a little further out and a little more remote but a short drive to Woodbridge (I’ve done a video on that) and The Moon and Sixpence which is much closer to town, shops, restaurants etc. both really nice places. If you think this site is nice you need to go to the old Oakes at Glastonbury. It’s the best site I’ve been on in 32 years of caravanning followed by eye kettleby lakes near melton Mowbray. You get what you pay for I don’t mind paying those prices as CL sites don’t interest me. But each to their own. Looks a lovely site though and I must try it. Good video. People moan about prices but you have a choice and motohome owners amaze me they pay £60k plus then moan about paying £20/£30 plus a night so they wild camp. But again each to their own
Hi there, wish I had found Old Oakes at Glastonbury before we headed to Bath Chew which wasn't a great experience for us. I completely agree with your views around pricing though, in the great scheme of things it's not a lot to pay, even for the best sites and I've always said exactly the same as you about Motorhomes. They do offer more flexibility as to where they can pitch but paying all that money to then pitch off grid in a school playground seems odd! Thanks for watching. ATB Dave & Helen

Try Old Oaks Glastonbury, you'll be shocked at how much better it is and for much less. No road noise either.
On your walk you found that little hut with nothing in it. You can use it to go in quietly with your visa receipt and hit yourself repeatedly over the head with a car jack and repeat, “l must not have these periods where I pay this much money per night and then have to have therapy for months afterwards because I have lost the plot”. Yo need to get to Melton Mowbray to find the perfect site.

It’s a expensive place I dont think I would pay that amount for 3 nights you can get support pegs for the colapz pipes I should have pulled up today you could have cleaned my motorhome after you did your caravan while I was on my way to hemsby

Concierge Camping is hugely overrated in my opinion, owing to it being noisy as a motorways service station from the A-road - from 5-a.m until past midnight (audible in your video as always), also feels like a dangerous lack of railings at the showers, which weren't especially clean at any time during our week's visit (dirty mop etc. left inside/cleaner needs re-training), and just absolutely absurdly ambishous prices. Good touring base, but I've seen luxury done far better at 35% less - and without the constant noise.

Tell me the sites that are luxury and cheaper than this….i want to go there too…mostplaces i go to are awful….spitting and hawking phlegm in the showers, then it drifts over the floor into my cubicle..mucky toilets ,rude territorial campers..concierge is the best I’ve seen..
@@griswald7156 Try Old Oaks in Glastonbury. The facilities are far-far better than concierge, it's very much cheaper and there is zero noise. If you do try it I would suggest stay in walnut circle as it is the best part of the site. Trust me, there's better for less out there.
Personally i think the colapz are utter garbage ! all have mine have split, even the ones they replaced.
