This is chapter 10 of NCERT History Class 6 Textbook titled New Empires and Kingdoms where first I have started with understanding the Prashastis of rulers which are written in the praise of kings. The prashasti of Samudragupta was composed by Harishena. The areas under the control of Samudragupta have been understood through maps.Important rulers of Gupta dynasty have also been discussed. Then the rule of Harshavardhana has been briefly described alongwith the accounts of Banabhatta and Xuan Zang. The Pallavas, Chalukyas has been discussed. Also the hereditary nature of offices at those times has been talked about. What was Samanta and how assemblies in South India operated has also been provided. Watch the video for more details.
