I am an intruding outsider. The people here seem pleasant. But is the lack of argument a testament to their, and perhaps your, tenderness or a reflection of the lack of reason to quarrel?
What even is there for the dark academia community to argue about?
Because people who are into this kind of music are more sensitive, intelligent, deep and they do not care for shallow topics or drama in general. They do not want to be part of that shallow and selfish world.

POV:
You fell asleep while reading a Jane Austen book. When you wake up, you're in a strange room with mint-colored wallpapers. A weird noise comes from the window. When you check what it is, it's a boy, calling you.
You don't know him. But he seems to know you a lot. He asks that you go down. There is nobody else in the strange house. You realize you have gotten back in time. There are no phones, no TV. 1900s? No, it must be earlier than that. 1800s maybe. Only now do you realize that you are wearing a very thick, pink gown.
"Miss Olivia!" The boy calls you. "You seem to have missed our gathering at home? Although I am certain that I have not forgotten to send you an invitation! How could I? You are my dearest friend, after all!"
You look at him. You feel a sense of urge to wrap your hands around him. Why? You do not know this boy at all.
But seeing him makes you feel... kind of sad.
Whoever this Olivia is, she must have great feelings towards this boy.
"Why do you not speak at all? Have you gone utterly mute, my friend?"
You shake your head, not knowing what to say.
"You must feel sorry for me, I daresay," he whines. "I've been thinking about it. Perhaps, you were right after all. Yesterday when you confessed your indignation at my marriage with another woman, I felt mostly betrayed. Although it came to my realization that you might just miss my company, that's all! I believe you care a lot about me."
You nod, but you don't know why. It just feels like the right thing to do.
"Perhaps in another life, we might be husband and wife!" He jests. He laughs for a while until his smile slowly fades. For a moment, you think he means it.
In another life...
Before you could ask him more, suddenly, you wake up. The book has fallen from your bed. Before you could recover from the haze of the sleep, there's a noise coming from your window.
It's a boy, your new next-door neighbor. He's calling out your name. You two have been quite close since he came here.
For a brief moment, you feel strangely relieved. As though, you have always been waiting for this moment to come.

People give me weird looks when I say that I listen to music like this while I'm doing homework or I'm reading. You can't describe how easy it is to do homework with this music or how peaceful it is to read a book with
Same though I tell my friends that I listen to this music, and they gasp like they never expected it from me.
Everybody always focus on people who are either about to win or who are losing, ignore their hasty comments and focus on yourself and not them. Don't let their jealousy overtake you because they didn't make the effort to have a similar experience, put in the effort yourself but do remember to take breaks and rest, I wish you everlasting peace man 🫂❤️

It is popular it's just deep issues lying underneath this aesthetic.. What makes most of them rethink their likes.. we need some revolution in the DA.. One which can blend well with our real lives.. Though DA is defined as unattainable, unhealthy, suicidal, full of boundaries, Eurocentric, racist , rigid, aesthetic... I feel like new gen can bring some real enlightenment to this aesthetic. If not fallen into the trap of repeating the history

Sherlock Holmes stories are just brilliant - just to be able to pick up the book of the collection and read one every now and then, plus the way they are from Watson's perspective and are all interconnected, referencing one another!! oh god I want to read one now 🤣
Nothing beats Holmes! It's always like reading it for the first time and I've read Holmes since 1969. And I'm a night guy-I get tired when it gets light out.

You make sure it’s your best calligraphy, you make sure it’s neat because you know how they hate when something is messy, you put care and thought into each and every word hoping they were infront of you to hear you say it instead of having their eyes roam over the page every time you send a new letter. It’s funny how after each letter you regret the effort you always put in. They never respond, not once.

"I was once a hero too."
His voice hoarse as he speaks, his eyes captivating my soul.
I knew he was hurting and he wanted to just let out those tears that he's been holding back since God knows when. His eyes, they were as cold and intense as a snowstorm.
"I was delusional and wanted to save everyone. Just like you. But you know what?"
His palm grasped my face as the blade of the knife stayed against the skin of my neck.
"Life doesn't let you be a hero. It breaks you, it destroys you, it gets you on your knees until you give in."
He grits clasping the blade a little further as I let out a slight gasp, my wrists behind me cuffed.
"Maybe you didn't try hard enough."
I speak, my voice numb as the words leave my lips.
His eyes met mine when I felt the thrilling contact in my bones. Pure hate reflected in them as they had the burning desire just to slit my throat but the chains of fidelity towards the authority restrained him.
He leans forward, the tips of our noses brush against each other as I part my mouth a little to control my breathing.
"You think you're superior?"
A mirage of a scowl at the corner of his lips. His green eyes looked through mine.
"No. I might not be superior," I speak.
"But at least, I'm not a quitter."
Provoked, his eyes darken.
"You're playing a risky game, that too unaware of the consequences." He mutters.
"I can end you right here, right now."
I let out a small laugh, provoking him further as his grip tightens around the knife and I feel the slightest pinch against my neck.
"You can't end me, you don't own that kind of power."
I challenge.
"Go ahead then," His eyes flicker between mine as his features sharpen.
"Paint me as a villain in your story."
"Oh, I don't have to." I say, looking dead into his eyes.
"Because you already are."

The warmth of the wonderful fire gave you joy while its snowing outside, the silky beautiful white snow on the ground
The fire crackles and you smile warmly, you then finished writing the letter and wore your coat and went outside to give the mailman your letter. You come back home and went upstairs to go to your bedroom, and lay down on your bed staring at the ceiling thinking what you should do next. You thought of reading a book, You then stood up and chose a book to read. You found a book, that looked old. It looked like a vintage one, that book caught your attention and your now interested in it, "the night of the Dancing Flowers", you then sat down near the fire that gave you light and warmth. You then started to read and after 1 hour of reading, you were asleep. By the fire, sleeping like a lost royal who ran away from the kingdom and has found shelter and made a fire.

This playlist was needed. I used to be a very good reader . I was so happy to receive books in my birthday and I wrote very poetically and very beautifully. As I kid I was always told this was a good character of mine then I grew up and it became antisocial and disrespect which so strange. I got into reading paper books again lately . I imagine all scenarios in my head . As an artist it's so inspiring! Today I went out with my friend, it was amazing . We chatted, we ate, we walked , we exchanged opinions and plans ... and we went to the library, I got 2 books . It was so fun . I hope to go out with her again . And I hope to keep on reading and buying books.

I'm reading a book from my childhood called The Wish Stealers by Tracy Trivas
“You know, we never had that final dance?” He says.
She stares back at him, “I suppose not.”
She takes his hand and they circle around the stone walkway. The music begins from far away.
“Do you ever wonder what it could’ve been like?” She asks, looking up at him.
He shrugs his shoulders, “Sometimes. Why? Do you?”
“I guess.”
“You must if you’re asking me.”
She smiles and shakes her head. He hides his own and looks away.
“I just wish it had ended differently, that’s all.” She confesses.
“But what we had was good, while it lasted. I don’t regret it.”
“Neither do I.”
He takes ahold of her hand and spins her away from him, and then pulls her back again.
The music from that far away distance begins to die.
“Do you think we’ll forget all of this? And everything before?” She asks.
“One day, I’m sure.” He replied.
She sighs deeply and holds him, “And what we had; it was good?”
“The best.” He replies, smiling.
She pauses, “And if we forget it all?”
He stares down at her, smiling again, this time, a heavy weight hidden in his eyes, as if there were something there both spoken and unspoken, heard and unheard. She knows everything then, and yet nothing at all. And it is beautiful.
He sighs, “Well, then, we’ll dance to things that never were.”
And so, they dance.

This playlist reminds me that I have to practice piano, my passion, but responsibilities school, stress, and anxiety leave me no time for it. All these responsibilities are slowly turning practicing and playing the piano into a task or homework rather than an actually enjoyable and relaxing thing to do. I wish time didn't exist, that music was eternal and I could wander my hands through that wonderful black and white blur of sound for eternity. I wish I didn't have to rely on material things to live, I wish I was capable of simply existing in a realm of beauty, color, and sound, without having to worry about the impending dread of work and stress. I wish I was a musical note, played by a piano, release into thin air, to simply exist and form part of greater beauty. To last forever while only existing for a couple of seconds, from the time it takes me to be played to the hundreds of years I would spend written on a piece of sheet music, waiting, for someone to play me again.

thank you for those old memories ❤ that book was my absolute favorite as a kid
I loved all of Eric Carl's books, especially The Very Hungry Caterpillar. His books taught me how to read. One in particular, I can't remember the name it's been so long, named different zoo animals, and when you flipped the page the animal described the preceding page was vividly colored. Since I could identify the animals, I could study the names of the animals. The book taught me some of my first words, and even though Mr. Carle has passed, he and his books are forever imprinted in my heart.

Preparing for my maths exam not the best thing but yet..............
I love how in the society we live in listening to classical music is considered stupid and ridiculous, but when you find the right people this is just the right thing to listen to, and the way you can feel transported to another world is just so magical to me and it means so much. Sometimes, when I feel anxious, I just need a candle, a warm beverage, and a good and simple symphony to feel like everything is all right and that nothing is actually that important.
it's like reading in a library at night, when the sun is down, and the lights are warm and dim, and you have a cup of tea in your hands as you flip through your book once more

And it will always be. Find a new love, and live your new life happy and free. Explore the endless possibilities. Look to the stars every night, and remember that my love will be with you forever. Because my love, will surely be with you, forever and ever." He smiled weakly and shut the door of the pod, locking its door.
She banged on the glass, begging him to change his mind. She wanted so badly for him to change his mind. She wanted so badly for him t-
"CUT!" The director yelled, and the cast finally broke character letting their true selves show. "That's a wrap for today guys, good work." He yelled before giving everyone a smile. The two actors looked at each other, before giving each other a look of pure hatred. She stepped out of the pod, and held out her hand to him. "Good work Ace." She smiled bitterly, and he shook her hand. "Not too bad yourself weirdo." He said, a small grin tugging at his lips. He turned and walked away, leaving his words to soak into her skin. She scoffed and held her hand to her chest. "I hate that man." She lied.

my mom got me into classical music when i was a little younger and i sort of fell out of listening to it till i found this playlist. it just launched memories of my childhood, and only the good ones.
She was gazing outside at the moon and its hidden beauty , at the night and how softly the breeze moved past her skin , the satisfaction she felt m af e her remember the night of the ball , her beautiful gown and his elegant bow that he added to his suit which she chose , how they made out just before the dance and how her red lipstick stains were never really erased from his white shirt , how he wore it regardless of them , showing their love to everyone he met ,
How she danced with him in front of a thousand people but her eyes were fixated on him , and his on her ,
How everyone was just nonexistent at that moment , how they were the only ones alive , only ones who committed a crime called love,
How strongly and gently he held her in his arms m how good he looked despite his fresh scars , oh how happy she was to see him after so long ,
Only to loose him sometime soon , she knew their love won't last in a time when even survival was scarce ,

the light dances through the open windows, the flowers swaying as the wind tickles their dainty petals. glancing at the large pile of work in front of you, all you wish to do is to be free. free from responsibilities. but, alas, that will never happen, so you will sit here, in this stuffy old room, in front of the window sneezing very often from the dust bunnies and the pollen coming from the corners of the room and the flowers on the outside of the room, working on that endless pile of work that seems to eternally pile up, a never ending mess. just like the author who’s writing this’ life.

Reading makes my eyes dry and leads my eyes to serious problems specially at night but it’s my favorite thing to do when it’s dark and raining outside.. it makes living worth it sometimes

So, its dec 25. I wanted to visit my parents for christmas but got covid. Even though I'm usually not very excited to visit them, christmas alone without presents in a small college dorm room is sad af. So I'm laying in bed at night and reading while listening to this playlist.
Listening to something like that at night and reading my favorite book at the same time feels like I'm in the world of the book.

You walked this path thousands of times in your lifetime. It lead to the castle's library. Dimly lit and every step echoed back to you. Some may have found it scary, not because of the lack of light or humans, but because it echoed back your thoughts and your fears. You are left alone with yourself until...
Until you open the big wooden door. The scent of the books welcomes you in. You can feel Jane wait for you to take her back to Mr.Rochester. and Belle dance with the Beast, a dance of pure love. This room may be the smallest room in the castle but for you it was your whole world. You lit up the fireplace and the door creaks open just a tiny bit, to let your dog come in. It follows you suit to the red velvet couch that smells like tea. It takes its place on the other end of the couch, cuddling up against your feet. The mahogany floors, walls and shelves make you feel protected, like an armour from the harsh world. You take the book from yesterday night that's left on the small wooden side table.
"Dear reader..."
3 or perhaps even 4 hours have passed...
At some point you fell asleep but now, a hand that caressed your cheek woke you up.
"You're so beautiful when you sleep. I could watch you forever."
"How-How did you find me here ?
"Does it matter ? Like a moth to a flame you lure me in, like a siren. I can sense your presence from miles away.
I was reading a few passages from your book. This Mr. Rochester is ... interesting."
"You don't like reading." you say dumbfounded.
"If it makes me feel closer to you. I can get a glimpse of your mind that way. Any way I can. It makes that bond stronger, that thread tighten around my ribs." His eyes lingered on your lips.
You straighten yourself up from the couch and he comes closer.
"It tightens so much that I have to be as close as I can, or else I'm afraid it would break." He whispers his lips closer to yours.
"You impress me. That's the most romantic scene of the book."
"What scene? I don't know what you're talking about." He raises his brow and his arms trap you against the couch. "Perhaps, a kiss could remind me."
"Or it could make you forget completely." You reply cheekily.
"Yes, you make me forget sometimes. They say, a kiss can be deadly if you mean it. I don't mind dying from your kiss."
This is a scene from a book I'm currently writing. I've written it fro the reader's POV. Hope you liked it !

Ive decided to turn off the lights, light a candle and make a bubble bath and just relax for awhile. I feel like I have no more free time, but its really nice listening to this music in such a relaxing setting and reading all the little stories in the comments. I wish I had the time to do this more often.

I hear the violins starting up a Gavotte even from outside of the ballroom. Looking up at the ornate, ivory doors, I take in a deep breath. This is it. This is the night I say goodbye, forever. I nod at the herald, and he turns to the guests.
"Presenting Ms. Arabella Rosenfeld, escorted by the Duchess of Canven." As soon as I step through the doors, I'm immediately enveloped in music and chatter. People are staring at me outright, but I ignore their gossiping. I'm only here to explain something and then leave. And that's when I see him.
Him.
Thomas.
Standing by the refreshments, in conversation with a group of female chaperones. They see me and say something to him that makes him whip around to look at me. His appraising eyes follow along the length of my body, and I blush. A bit too late to try to preserve my modesty, now, anyways.
He excuses himself and heads toward me, clearly a man on a mission. The closer he gets, the more anxious I become. Perhaps this was a bad idea. If I bolted for the doors now, there's a chance that I could get away before he reaches me. It's too late for me to run away even if I wanted to, though, because he's already in front of me. He bows and extends his hand.
"May I have this dance?" And all of a sudden that wave of deja vu hits me and I see him doing the exact same motion three months ago.
And just like before, I answer "Only if you promise not to spin me, Mr. Langston," and he smiles and leads me to the floor.
The orchestra has started into a new dance now, a Boulanger, and as the pianoforte starts to play, I lift my eyes to his face.
He's looking at me with such a soft look that I almost trip over my own feet because of what it's doing to my heart. My traitorous, traitorous, heart- the source of all my troubles.
My feet move of their own accord, following along with the notes. My mind is elsewhere, preoccupied with thoughts of how to explain this to him without making it painful.
"What are you thinking about?" He asks, cocking his head.
"Something dreadful," I admit. He laughs, almost missing my hand when we dance the next step.
"Well you can't possibly think of dreadful things while dancing with such a ravishing partner like me. Feel free to ponder negative things after this dance. For now, just live in the moment, and think of nothing other than how good I am at dancing."
I roll my eyes but smile nevertheless, because it's such a Thomas thing to say.
"Alright," I say, clearing my thoughts. It can't hurt to enjoy one more dance with him, can it?
As we move along the dance floor, I take heed of his advice, letting the atmosphere roll over my shoulders and around me. The music seems louder now, the fabrics and diamonds brighter, and Thomas, oh Thomas, he seems more charismatic and graceful and handsome than ever before.
When I look into his eyes, it's just him and I, only the two of us dancing among the stars. His presence is almost overwhelming, but I give in to it, aware of every breath he takes, the proximity of his body, and the emotion in his eyes. I let the rest of the world fade away, instead, only focusing on him. Our bodies move perfectly in sync with each other and the music, creating one, beautiful, living creature.
However, I know it'll end soon, and when the music eventually draws to a stop, I look away from him. We step away from the dance floor and I feel almost dazed, still coming down from that glorious bliss I just felt.
Thomas bows and kisses my glove, the heat of his lips shocking me out of my state.
"Thank you for the wonderful dance," he says, still holding my hand.
"You're most welcome," I reply, gently tugging my hand out of his grasp.
"When will I see you again?" He asks, looking at me.
I sigh. This is the real reason I came tonight,
"You can't." We both know my father would never approve of this. He smiles sadly, his eyes wistful.
"I guessed as much. It was still worth trying, though."
"Goodbye, Thomas." I say, a heavy emotion building up in my throat.
"Goodbye, Ms. Rosenfeld." He says, letting go of my hand.
I guess some loves just aren't meant to be.
