How To Crochet Simple Mesh (Two Ways)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- Hi! I remade this video to show how to make a crochet simple mesh stitch two ways. The first way requires blocking for it to lay flat, but it makes a pretty open stitch pattern. The second way is a really nice mesh as well and will lay flat naturally. I hope that you enjoy it! Feel free to subscribe if you enjoy it! Thanks so much!

Thanks for the tutorial. I have a recommendation, though. Have the background (table) and yarn be more different in color to see the stitches better.
This is a brilliant video for someone who really doesn't crochet too much - and I have now purchased and downloaded the Driftwood Poncho pattern from you, to make my daughter something special! I love your work!!
This is gorgeous! A question: what should one do to increase or decrease stitches going further?
Great stitch. How would one go about decreasing/increasing?
Im doing the 3chain mesh with Bernat Blanket yarn for a scarf and it does not need blocking...laying nice and flat. Thanks for tutorial!
I love this pattern. I was wondering if you could let me know how I could make it into a triangle since I make a lot of Prayer Shawls.
What I’m doing is on alternating rows just adding extra chains to the end to expand the stitch count so it’ll end up in a alternating pattern of this mesh and regular sc
Do you think it can both be made in round? Thanks for this beautiful video
This is gorgeous. I cannot wait to try this ! Thank you for sharing it 🌞
How do you do the end of the pattern to have a straight edge just like when you started the pattern?
Thanks for an easy version of this stitch. I found another version a couple of years ago but it wasn't as simple as yours...I like yours more and it's prettier than the other one I found.
Very pretty! I really like how this looks made up into your simple mesh blanket.
I'm so glad that you like it. Thanks for letting me know!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful work.
Your voice is so relaxing and your hands so pretty. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you for the tutorial of this.really easy beautiful and textured stitch.
You're welcome! I'm so happy that you enjoyed it!
Hi Jessica, how would you end the pattern for a nice edge? Could I single crochet as the last row? And if so you I go into each stitch??
Thanks! (I am planning on crocheting a scarf )
Casey Burnett hi! Yes, make a row of single crochet stitches. For the wide mesh that I demonstrate first, place two single crochet stitches into each space across. Hope this helps!
Awesome! Thanks for the help! I am planning on do the two chain mesh - so maybe just one single into each space? I can play around with it to see what works best
Could you use this pattern for a shaggy rug and would you use 2 strands to do it? thanks
Thanks great instructions I am making a blanket love the stitch I am new at crocheting ❤️
Does anyone have any tips on how to count the rows??? I've gotten myself completely lost 😂
Is there a way to decrease this stitch? Love the way this looks for my project just need to figure out a way to decrease
ok so amazing, but the counting out loud.... that is the worst thing you could have possibly done to someone new because miss I'm slow and I can not be dealing with 1 1 2 3 2 4 3 5 6 4 7. like it doesn't work in my brain, please.
I am a knitter but I did crochet years ago, I am going to try this your tutorial is great! Thanks 😊
Great video, new at this, how do you end the scarf to make it look like the beginning ?, I see someone else has the same question 😀
I love this stich. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I'm still new to crocheting, what do you mean by blocking it in?
Hi Andrea! Blocking is a way to make your crochet piece fit the measurements or shape that you're looking for. It also gives the work a polished look and can improve the look of the stitches. You would simply make the piece damp, lay it out flat and secure it (some people use pins). I just lay a few towels on the ground, make my piece damp, lay it flat and secure the edges. This way it dries with a nice flat shape. There's a lot of information about blocking if you do a quick google search! Have a great day!
Me again Mz. Mama, I make small blankets for babies in NICU units for hospitals, and am looking for the best ways to make simple & fast blankets for those very needy babes. From your experience, what might you suggest?
Thanks so much for your time and consideration.
I have started and love the stitch, thank you for a clear presentation!
Me too, your guidance for finishing the edge, so it looks like the beginning edge, would be very helpful.
This is really helpful but can you consider offering a slower version and describe what the stitches are that you are doing to make it a bit more intermediate friendly! Looks really good tho
Love your tutorial! It just goes to show that a stitch so simple can be so pretty. I’ve already started a scarf for my sister. Thank you! I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching more of your tutorials. ❤
Good Day Mz. Mama in a stitch, I love your channel... I have a question. Has any one every used the shell stitch commonly used to make baby blankets in an in the round format like a granny square is created? I am not looking for something like the beautiful shells blanket - I'm hoping you may be familiar with this popular pattern. ... Have you ever seen anything like this?
That is a very nice ditch however do you have the pattern to do it without the edging or that border that you started with because I put an engine in border on all my blankets after I'm done so how would I do it without that border but it is a very nice pattern
I made it longer... why is it bending inwards towards the first single crochet row? Its as though the single crochet line is too tight or smth😢 did i do something wrong?
What size hook and what kind of yarn are you using here, it's really beautiful!
Hi! I'm using a US size H and Lion Brand Heartland yarn in Acadia. I think it's so pretty too!
thank you for the best sample, watching from Bhutan
This smaller mesh stitch pattern seems it would be good for a scrubbie using the scrubbie yarn.
You didn't say after the chain where to put your single crochet in as in how many from the hook so this pattern is useless
That"s just great! Beautifully simple!
Thank you it perfect just what I was looking for. 😊🤗
what stictch did u use before doing the mesh. saw it towards the end of the video. its hard to explain, looks lile u did a sl st all the way across the bottom.. but also looks like a front post.
The foundation row is a chain with an odd number, then single crochet in every chain stitch to give the work a nice border.

iF YOU HAVE SIZE 10 cOTTON. CAN YOU USE MULTIPLE THREADS? IF SO ABOUT HOW MANY THREADS?
Can I make A washcloth with this stitch ???? Thanks in advance
how do you end it? would you just single crochet into each V?
My mesh is puckering up as expected but i was curious how its supposed to look before blocking? I am fairly new to crocheting and im not completly consistent with my tension as i would like. So sometimes when i work on other patterns they come out to ruffled or to puckered then they should be. Im working on this one but im not sure if i need to start over or if this is acceptable amount of pucker for this pattern before i block it.
Thankyou, lovely stitches and really easy to follow x
Hi!!! Lovely! I’m working it now! If I’m doing the two stitch, I started exactly like you did at the beginning, how do I do the nice border when I’m done? You basically have an arch so the stitches are in a straight line so I wondered if just doing SC is all that is needed??
I’m planning on making some small curtains and I think this may be a great stitch for such a project. Thank you for the tutorial ❤😊
New subscriber here. Thank you for that beautiful stitch pattern! Cute name for your channel, "Mama In A Stitch":)
I’ll give this a go, thanks for your tutorial 😊
Can someone please put a timestamp for each method?
Thank you for this very simple stitch and information about blocking. I’m going to use this stitch a lot.
How do you make a 4 or 5 x size and how much yarn would it use. Thank you.
Could you do a single crochet instead of a slip stitch
Is there directions for us newbies thamks
Very good explained 👌🏼🙌🏼💯
What a beautiful video thanks a million for sharing!!
You're welcome! I'm so glad that you liked it!
Hi.
Thanks. Great tutorial. I believe your first version is called the double mesh stitch. 😃
Can I ask what size hook you are using
🤔 if I'm marking a blanket what are the increments 3+1?
Hi! It will make a gorgeous blanket!I actually just used an odd stitch count to start the foundation row. I'm not sure which mesh you wanted to use, but I suggest the second one in the video so that it lays flat without having to block it. Enjoy!
Awesome! Thank you
You're welcome!
How much give is there in it if it's worked up into a sweater? Seems like quite a lot?
Hi! There is a lot of give with this stitch. It definitely creates a very "stretchy" fabric. Thanks for asking!
Mama In A Stitch
Mama In A Stitch Thanks!
You're welcome! No problem at all!
Does this look good in a baby blanket? Thanks
Did you skip a chain then single crochet on the first row?
That was 11 stiches in the base/ firstchain, then you suddenly only have crochet 10 in the single crochet row.... That is confusing.
Can i use this stitch for a men vest ?
What size hook f or the ch2 mesh stich
Like this want to use it for a shrug
Could the chain three mesh be used for a slouch hat?I love your tutorials. You make crocheting look so easy!🔆🔆🔆
Thank you!! This is a wonderful texture - and I appreciate your video!!!
Nicole Patterson you're welcome! It is such a great texture, isn't it?! Thanks for taking the time to let me know that you enjoyed the video. 🙂
When you are making a mesh net blanket to fit a double bed do you chain 2, dc into 2nd chain, ch1 skip 1dc into next ch
hi I am using your stitch to make a large afghan but I have a question.
I started my second boll and because of the sc line my whole work is bulging and bends around the sc edge. I know blocking is needed but I am scared that this kind of bend is not going to be fixed by that. (first time I ever need to block)
could you help me out?
Next time try making the chain with a larger hook than is used for the rest of the project
Amazing stitch! 😊 Thank you!
Hi. What size needle did you use.
I love the look and I tried the 3 chains and it would not lay flat as you said. I did try skipping 2 stitches and 4 chains and it worked very well. It did lay flat. It gave a bigger blocks and was faster to make a top.
Thanks for the idea. I'm trying the same for making a top. Can you suggest how to keep the edges straight mine are getting bit outward and maybe increasing one mesh after few rows.
Hello how do you end the stiches?
I just found your channel i seen you on Pinterest
Thank you and have a nice day!
Very nice many thanks
How do you block the other end?
Very cute thank you
Thank you for sharing. Love this stich for dishcloths and for a farmer’s market bag that I am crocheting with cotton yarn.

What does it mean to block it?
Sometimes, finished crochet projects like curves at the edges. To smoothes it out, you can stem it, etc. There are pins and mats to lay your crochet blanket; it makes it easy to stem. There're other ways to block also.
Sorry, meant to say, "steam"🙂
💕Beautiful
Loved it thank you.
Very nice
Very pretty, can't wait to try. Thank you
