- ALL MY VIDEOS ARE IN 1080p HI DEF so check that out
these hinges are for 68-72 GM a body cars, but many other years should be the same... they are off my 70 chevelle
Got the drivers side done, thanks to you! Note for other DIY guys out there, each "Kit" you purchase are for one hinge only unless it specifically states that it is designed and contains parts for both upper and lower hinges.... Found that out the hard way. Nice work, Chris!
I took original 71 Chevelle hinges soak them in de greaser then rust 911 ,no sandblasting needed and the zinc plating stays on ,did not have to replace the larger ring and best to use 2 long needle locking pliers to decompress the spring ! No Hassle
Nice video man. All good info plus safety hint and no extra bs. Me and my 68 Firebird thank you
Good job guy, except for the part of adding JB Weld to the bushings, DON'T DO THAT, the brass bushings were designed to be replaced and it will be a monster to get the old bushing out without removing the door.
+bikerdude225 I was talking about using j b weld when the hinge is bad .. Like when the bushing fits loose but not too loose...I would never do that but some people might have to
Thanks for the tip. I have bad hinges in my El Camino and I was wondering how to do it.
Can the detente roller pin be removed and installed while the hinge is on the body? If so, how. Great Video! Just starting on my 70 Elco. Thanks
Awesome! What i notice is any kit I can find doesn't have an extra bushing for the door stop pin. I wonder why. Do you remember what kit this is I see some on Amazon for 20.00, I see some with C clips, but haven't seen any with a screw maybe the screw is only on the roller/spring pin
I also notice the top hinge with the stopper on the driver side is upside down on both my car and here in the video I wonder why that is
Nice great job I like ask a question I purchase new hinges for my 69 nova with new finders so the genders are off so the doors I have the hinges are welded on the door part so the part that bolts to the body it’s there so the new hinges are already completed do you think if I take the new hinges apart and put new pins and bushings in them thanks
perfect tunes in the background.
Thanks bro for sharing
is the only way to clean up the hinges is sand blasting them? I already took mine apart and I'm trying to get him cleaned up so and then I can get them painted them back on.
it is so much better if you can... i use the $50 sand blaster from harbor freight and screen the play sand from home depot or lowes... you could just maroon scotch brite them if they werent all rusty
Chris Craft ok nice ty
Grease?! I have the same hinges and they're squeaky and stiff.
good video...
Tried watching but turn music off next time, irritating
