When people ask why is Chris is considered one of the best Rock singers ever, show them this live performance. What a voice! I'll always say he was the best ever!
He was the best there was. End of story👏🏻, Suzanne is my blood relative my great cousin, which makes Chris Cornell my great cousin, Divorce doesn’t matter. I cook for a living. Find me to think Chris Cornell is a chef of culinary arts as well as a the beast legendary musician of all time, vocalist, songwriter, Also he donates $15-$20,000 per show to the children in the dark that are victims of sexual trauma. How he isn’t at billboard permanent top blows my mind, he visited me when I was younger and I was abused locked in a room saturated in feces, Chris Cornell had The ultimate gift of being able to teleport anywhere in the world but keeping his physical body in one spot
This performance is a testament to how strong and resilient Soundgarden was as a band. They stood the test of time and this shows that so well. I'm so glad they came back this strong. Happy for Chris Cornell and Soundgarden. I refuse to let his tragic death ultimately define him or them. I choose to appreciate and savor the art that they all gave us. Thank you CC and Soundgarden. I love you guys.
I remember when this song came out, I thought to myself, this is like pre-Badmotorfinger Soundgarden. How the hell is Chris going to pull this off live??? Well, here you go. RIP brother. There will never be another voice like yours. It was a fucking force of nature at its peak...
Most rock vocalists would not even attempt to sing a tune this high ..in fear of destroying it...Well, we all know who pulled it off ,dont we ? .Wow,Im always in awe ..
This performance gives me chills every time I watch it. As much music as I listen to, there isn't a band that I am in as much awe of as Soundgarden. Absolute magic.
So magical! Reminds me of some of the members newer stuff too, Have you heard Hiro featured on Down by the Water by Maki Mae? Won't regret! :) ua-cam.com/video/IDvzd7xv_qw/v-deo.html
I became a fan of this type of music later in life as a mom with a teen that loved all the old grunge bands and metal bands. I am now well versed in all things Soundgarden and Chris Cornell. This is one of my favorites!! He was truly mesmerizing!
On NYE in 2009, I remember seeing "The Knights of the Soundtable Ride Again!" - I can't tell you how awesome it was to be a fan of SG in 2010. Following them and Cornell all through my teenage years in the 2000s, it was like the ultimate build-up seeing him perform more SG throughout Audioslave and his solo career. His voice kept getting better and better as his hair got longer and longer lol. Then... that first show at The Showbox in 2010, all of us 'soundtablers' were THRILLED listening to the bootlegs of that night. "He's back!" And I wish he never left.
Right here proves Chris Cornell ALWAYS had control of that nuclear octive range that made "Soundgarden " famous. That sound, like no other, so damn SEXY and amazing beautiful. So sexy here, still and forever.
Yeah, no shit. And it wasn't just his ability to hit the high end of his remarkable range, it was the range of musical genres he could perform (both his own original work and his covers) so beautifully. There isn't anyone else with such talent and genius.
That is absolutely the one of the best I've seen.Chris will never be forgotten.I think ppl that shine so brightly aren't meant to be in this ugly world.
He was such a great vocalist!! Those notes he is hitting are in such a high register. Truly one of the best singer/songwriters of our time. We really lost a special one. He is a LEGEND and they never die. Thank you for enriching our lives over the years. RIH Chris Cornell- You are greatly missed and will Always be in our hearts ❤️
Ever since I heard this song a few years ago I probably (attempt to) sing it or scat this riff once a week minimum. Greatest rock vocalist ever. Unbelievable. One of the best bands of all time! RIP Chris!
I was a fan of SG since 1994 just after Superunkown came out. I was heart broken when they split up. I saw this video by chance when they just reformed. I was almost in tears of joy to see them back, and this performance blew me away. I got to see SG in 2013. And it was the best concert of my life
Los que ponen 4 puños hacia abajo creo que no entienden de música.Tienes a 4 de los mejores músicos de la historia interpretando. No sé qué están buscando...
Soundgarden. What a band.Chris Cornell. Matt Cameron. Ben Shepard. Kim Thayil. Super musicians musicians. No one sings like Chris any more. I double dog dare you to play like Kim. You cannot. And Matt Cameron might not be Neil but he's close enough. Ben Shepard. He's just the crazy bass player that writes and makes music for Soundgarden.
Ben is not "just" anything. He is an epic bassist and songwriter. His bass slaps hard in every SG song. SG wouldnt be SG without that lineup. Full stop. He was probably the most affected by the loss of Chris. He disappeared for years. He only posted again on his Insta recently. I love Ben, he doesnt take any shit. At the unveiling of the grotesque statue his succubus wife had which is outside the MOPOP in Seattle none of the band interacted with her and Ben threw the rock signal above Chris' statue and smirked at the crowd. They all knew what he wanted and how badly he wanted out of his financially draining loveless marriage where he was just the cash cow work horse funding a lavish lifestyle for the greek gold diggers.
Cornell was period that you can be rich, very handsome, have a great voice and be a great songwriter and all around decent human being, have a loving family and still find life not worth living.. Once you've figured out all out there is no point in continuing- you cannot live only for others. I'm sure his medication played a role in his demise but the notion was always there. People / fans like to say that they wish the departed knew how much they were loved.. The thing is this: do you care what strangers think about you? Nobody really knows you off stage besides your family and close friends.
They said that he committed suicide by hanging and that he had Ativan and barbiturates, no-doz and decongestant in his blood but that it did not contribute to his death. His death was so heartbreaking and tragic.
I Love U MTW could ever express&Miss U terribly, you wonderfully talented sweet, loving, wonderful, beautiful man...I'll ALWAYS BLAST YER MUSIC FROM THE ROOFTOPS ALONE,ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD,whom truly loves&misses U as much as I do...U WERE TRULY ONE OF A KIND U BEAUTIFUL MAN!!!although that U may B gone from us here N physical sense, you'll FOREVER remain N MY HEART,SOUL&MIND,ALWAYS&FOREVER!!!U WILL NEVER TRULY B GONE FROM ME&ALL OTHERS WHOM TRULY LOVE,HONOR,RESPECT&MISS U MTE!!!SLEEP TIGHT U WONDERFUL AMAZING,PHENOMENAL BEAUTIFUL MAN,FOR YOUR JOURNEY'S OVER!!!I PRAY THAT YOU'RE OUTTA YOUR HELLISH PAIN THAT U HAD TO ENDURE HERE ON THIS SAD&COLD EARTH!!!RIP U TRULY BEAUTIFUL SOUL,I WILL ALWAYS&FOREVER LOVE,MISS,HONOR&CHERISH U,JOHN CHRISTOPHER BOYLE"AKA" ***CHRIS CORNELL*** 😍❤️💔❤️💞💙🎶📀📲📱💻🖥🎶🎤🎸🔊🔉🔊💯💯💯
Love Chris but I've seen him live 3 times & it's been hit or miss. This was perfect & he managed to rival early 90s/late 80s with this performance. I wish I had seen them early 2010s when they first got back together because when I saw SG in 2017 his voice want this strong.
I saw him a few times. Generally amazing, but the truth is that he didn't look after his voice as well as he could have, and even when taught new, better vocal habits he went back to the old, vocal stripping ones. At times during performances his vocal chords seemed strained at the years of doing his belting technique. But the fact that he could even do it in the first place is amazing, and that he kept coming back after his voice seemed ruined, is testament to his greatness. He did not duck those crazy power sings, even when he was not at the top of his game. Add the looks, the riff writing and guitar playing, and very deep and introspective creative lyrics writing, and this guy is the absolute real deal. One of the very best ever, spanning different genres and genuinely interested in many different forms of music, and not afraid to experiment. And he is the only rock star that hurt me deeply when he passed, and the truth is that many people, myself included, never really got over it.
When people ask why is Chris is considered one of the best Rock singers ever, show them this live performance. What a voice! I'll always say he was the best ever!
Absolutely! The best ever and forever!
He was a lyrical genius.
He was the best there was. End of story👏🏻, Suzanne is my blood relative my great cousin, which makes Chris Cornell my great cousin, Divorce doesn’t matter. I cook for a living. No doubt. Chris is the best!
And Me. *The Best* 💯🤘🏼🇬🇧
#NoOneSingsLikeYouAnymore CC 💞
This song has every element I love about Soundgarden in it. Fat riff, strange drums, skitzo lead, high wailing vocals, double guitars, it's all there.
Perfectly stated.
+100
My favorite Soundgarden songs are the odd ones. Perfection 🥇
This performance is a testament to how strong and resilient Soundgarden was as a band. They stood the test of time and this shows that so well. I'm so glad they came back this strong. greeenpro Well said. Thank you for voicing my own feelings so eloquently.
Always the Greatest!!! Just Kick Ass!!! ❤️🤘🎶

Right on.
Quite the higher register isn't it.
I love when Kim does the lil prog riff . Deadly .
It's very Led Zepp with a twist of prog
@@musicmavenpublishing2265 sorry my last response was meant for you , forgot to tag you. I'm old . Just turned 43 lol
Man that fkn voice. To the downvoters lets see you or your favorite singer pull this song off.
John Lauer fuck yes, kind sir. That voice is not from this earthly realm.
@@AndySalinger33 Right on Andy. Still to this day I shake my head in disbelief that he is gone
I wish the sound engineers made It more loud
Your voice is sheer, raw, pure, fucking amazingness. Nothing compares. There will never be another you.
Never, Randi, never ever... :'((((((
Literally have a tear running down my cheek thinking about this fact
Most rock vocalists would not even attempt to sing a tune this high ..in fear of destroying it...Well, we all know who pulled it off ,dont we ? .Wow,Im always in awe ..

yes, rewatching this every now and then until the end. beautiful

The notes he was able to hit at nearly 50, crazy! Us fans miss you every day Chris!
Yes I agree 💯 Chris Cornell was a awesome singer,a powerful voice, and could hit the notes good.Miss him

You may be cool, but you'll never be "Ben Shepard casually playing bass in Soundgarden" cool.
What about "John Entwistle casually playing bass in The Who cool"?
What happened to Ben Sheppard?
I love it when dude acts like the base has blown out his legs... bass is so heavy cuz it really is
@@jasoncloherty Exactly my first thought!!! John is Mr. ICE

@@hugoluizdossantos5709 I'm not gay honestly 😂
Whos back here today (again) lol
Really, "no one sings like you anymore"
Only Chris Cornell's voice could power through that bass and guitar heaviness.
Yes I agree 💯 Chris Cornell awesome Singer,a powerful voice
are you fucking kidding me ! how could a human poses such a vocal range ! this is just incredible
wow this was really good.....Kim and Chris...Matt and Ben....solid as f***...we love you Chris, and miss you

same, my heart is bleeding :'(
Same
same
I cry about him all the time..
Cornell off the chain here, amazing
3:43 One of his highest notes ever? And at that age, pushing 50.
That's a G5 i think, really impressive!
And in 2:45
IIRC same as highest note in Smokestack Lightning and Say Hello 2 Heaven, among others.
Yeah, no shit. And it wasn't just his ability to hit the high end of his remarkable range, it was the range of musical genres he could perform (both his own original work and his covers) so beautifully. There isn't anyone else with such talent and genius.

Here to make their mark on humanity and we soak it up while we can. CC you a Badmotorfinger...
Best voice
Best drum
Best guitar
Best bass
Ever
I miss you so much
🖤
That may be the best live performance I've heard them play on that tune. Vocals were flawless, drums were sick, bass and guitars were very tight. Wow
he's too damn handsome
He will always be !
This guy had a fucking amazing voice out there with robert plant and roger daltrey.
Wonderful singer not to mention one hell of a solid ass guitar player too.
Kim really doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

Too bad the sound engineer didn't balanced the vocals to the music properly.
I fking LOVE THIS SONG ! So tight so heavy and that voice . Dayam ! Everyone of these guys are virtuosos.
Holy shit, look at these guys. Everyone plays an instrument, and fucking really good too. No sweat, its Soundgarden. A finely tuned machine does work.

That’s what I think. I wish he has just gone to bed and woke up the next day and felt better.
