  • Folks, sorry for the long video but maybe if you start to doze off, you can save it and watch the rest at a later time.

Great video. Here in Western NC winter is the time to do tree work, grading the roads, trail work and other projects when its cool and no bugs or poison ivy to deal with. We might even get a late cut of hay. If the weather is right the helper tractor will be out. Summer is basically mow mow mow. Equipment doesn't see much down time for this weekend warrior.

Great job on this episode Mike. Learned good stuff. Will avoid more (but not all) of the stupid stuff!

Hi Larry I use peppermint spray as a rodent deterrent and it works well. I will soak some cotton balls with peppermint spray and put in various areas as well... Thanks

Gary, you have my full attention! I will try it. I would prefer not having poisoned dead mice all over the place.

@@LSE_TRACTOR +1 I also use Peppermint Oil (they sell the stuff on Amazon in spray bottles). I also use it on my regular vehicles.

Just a suggestion, very course steel wool (If your wealthy -Stainless steel wool) in openings keeps them out, my understanding is that they don't like trying to dig through the wool, I assume it gets in their noses and probably hurts the paws. I surround my Harley tires with it for winter storage, and plug the two exhaust pipes just in case, how in the heck they can climb on chrome pipes, etc., and take up residence I have no idea.

Copper wool is a thing too. Almost like a dish scrunchy for scrubbing.

+1 on losing door(s) during transit. I lost the left door on NX5510 (because doors weren’t locked or strapped bringing it home on first day) and was quoted over $1000 for a new door assembly but no idea on lead time. So I DIY’ed one from Plexiglass and seal from the lost door. Maybe after I buy all the attachments I want I will get a new door.

CJK, it’s good of you to share that with us. I think that sometimes people might not believe me when I say something like this, but you have proof. Sh!t happens. We all need to try to mitigate the potential losses.

@@usmarshall336 unfortunately not my home owners (I have USAA which has been good). The flat bed towing company promised to give me $200 but never did (and not worth my time arguing and driving to collect). Other than not having a nice curve or a outside door handle/latch (flew off with glass door) my DIY plexiglass door is actually pretty good.
