The new harsher reffing has got these great players doing their best to play the ball when at all possible. So much better to watch.
Better to watch? By no means? but I guess you can have your opinion. Paul sure got a few cheap points there with his blocking.
@@dweeder1453 you call it chocking, but I bet each instance you're referring to, makin has played a poor shot and coll is just playing his shot.
Two great players ... Great stuff from both Joel and Paul ...
What a monster of a match, well done Coll in the end.
These guys totally destroy. What a match.
Notice Coll grinning at the appeal having just been clipped. He knew what the call would be. We normals do it all the time... play a shot then realise we should have asked for a Let but by then its too late.
Coll is a Superman in true sense. Unbelievable physical and mental toughness displayed by him. Kudos to him.
A real thriller! 🤩👍❤
i love coll and makin, disciplined, honest and consistent players. would love to see them in a final. elias' temper and asal's dirty stray foot make me want to root for coll and makin more. farag is ofc up there as well no doubt
7:00 the sound 😂
Woah
Glad to see Makin、James and Subramaniam, these non-Egyptian players shine on the court
Makin with a perfect 1st game
Great performance from Makin
great match
Why was the no let a surprise? Racquet didn't touch coll before makin made contact with the ball. Surprised makin even asked.
Well done coll, good comeback from the first game
A few things. First, why wouldn't you ask for a let on match ball? Also, the appeal to the video ref was done by the ref, not Makin. Second, it was a close call. The correct call was made, but it was very close to a stroke.
Makin *may* have altered his swing because he could see Coll clearing into his followthrough as he went to hit it, the premise of the no let is that he took a regular swing and simply missed or framed the ball completely--how often does that happen at this level? (Makin is also known for not asking for soft lets.)
@@stevebachiu6843I gotta disagree, I didn't think it was close to a stroke seeing as though makin had already (mistakenly) played the ball. If he'd paused without swinging it would've been a close decision.
One thing about these two is they are both so fit that the attritional element doesn’t ever come into play, I’m not sure how I feel about it, it’s like they’ve both trained a key tactical aspect of the game out of it. This game was won and lost entirely just on shots and positioning. When makin walked off he looked fresh as a daisy lol
I'm sure it still does come into play - even these guys will get winded of their control is off and they have to go hardcore defence mode. Plus given they're playing each other if anything it comes the element of fitness comes back into play!
On the two contacts with the racket, the decisions were absurd. A stroke even though the racket contact was after the racket hit the ball and then a no let when the racket hit the opponent before the ball.
Before hitting, he hit Coll on the shoulder while preparing the bat.
Look a bit closer dude.
1st call you mention makin hit cool before contact with the ball: stroke.
2nd call you mention makin didn't make any contact with coll before hitting the ball, he just messed his shot up
Makin deserved to win
Nah, that's why he lost
Does anyone know what happened at 5:27?Slight contact, ball went up, so why a stroke?
Makin made contact with Coll on his back swing. Racquet contact. That's a stroke.
@@tascolino538 Right, so whether the ball goes up or not only matters if the contact happened during the swing, not backswing?
@@josefruzek4462 If there's contact on the back swing on a shot you can always ask for a stroke.
embryonic?
An interesting way of saying the first game was very small/short compared to how long their games usually go haha.
Borja Golan is an absolute legend, but for sake of commentary, I would kindly ask for someone else 😅
100% agree
Last Ball was "let"....Makin couldn't hit...😏
I’m tired just watching this 😮
We need better commentators
Horrible commentary from the other guy spoke way to quickly. Please can we have clear English.
"The other guy" is the great Borja Golán and he is a squash legend, so think a bit before speaking
@estercarrascoso7900 It doesn't really bother me who they are. You have to speak clearly in commentary. Otherwise, it just ruines the whole video. I may be a legend at other sports, but that doesn't mean I am going to be great at commentary.
@@estercarrascoso7900what does that have to do with the fact his English is terrible so shouldn’t be used in an English commentary?
More rubbish decisions from the referees.
