Fun fact. The whole part where Michael is looking up Geena's dress with the stick, Michael improvised the line "oh yeah". Also in the script his character was not meant to use a stick to lift up her dress, but was supposed to blow her dress up with air to have a look. Using a stick was Michaels idea. A line that was in the script at the graveyard that he did not say in the film was, "She got good legs? God I love a young leg". Air then blows up Barbara's dress, exposing her legs. He leers. HAHA That's what it said in the script. They were going to use something to blow Geena's dress up, but they were short on time, so to save time, Tim told Michael that he should just pick up Geena's dress himself. Michael suggested that he lift her dress with a stick as he thought it would be funny. which is what he done in the scene at 28:00. And like i said when he lifted her dress up, the line "oh yeah" was improvised by Michael, not scripted.
She got him a special oil for his miniature town and he got her the wallpaper because those are the things that would mean something to them. They enjoyed fixing their home up
Also Betelgeuse is named after the star Betelgeuse in the constellation Orion. But they changed the spelling to Beetlejuice for marketing because they thought people woukd havr a hard time pronouncing Betelgeuse if they left it spelled like the star.
Tim Burton has currently got an Addams Family style series called Wednesday and starring Jenna Ortega as the lead role, season 2 will be released next year. Funny when you said Michael Keaton’s character is so much like the Joker in this, he actually played Batman a year later, and… you probably guessed…. it was directed by Tim Burton lol. Johnny Depp has worked with the director a lot, there’s a dark musical called Sweeney Todd and he starred in Edward Scissorhands with Winona
@@cally1941 funny you say that, I actually bring up the Wednesday thing in my Beetlejuice 2 reaction. Plus I talk about the fact that Keaton played Batman in this Beetlejuice 1 reaction. Sweeney Todd is awesome. Also, Danny Devito was in Beetlejuice 2 and he played the penguin in Batman returns which was also directed by Tim Burton
The actor who plays Charles Deetz is Jeffrey Jones. He took some inappropriate pictures of a 14 year-old boy in 2001 or so, and he's now a registered sex offender. You can look it up if you want the details, but that's essentially why his acting career ground to a halt.
Bridges are covered to protect the bridge's structural timbers and deck from the elements, which would cause them to rot and deteriorate without the covering: Extend the bridge's lifespan: A covered bridge can last 100 or more years, while an uncovered wooden bridge may only last 15 to 20 years. Strengthen the bridge: The cover reinforces the bridge's truss, making it stronger and allowing for the construction of longer bridges. Provide shelter: The cover provides shelter for travelers and livestock. Most of America's covered bridges were built between 1825 and 1875. Some covered bridges in North America still stand today, dating back to the early 19th century.
You should absolutely watch the classics .... The Exorcist, Night of the Living Dead, House on Haunted Hill (the original with Vincent Price), Evil Dead, The Wicker Man, Hellraiser ... and please share your reactions. Hahaha! What a fun reaction!
Great reaction video! Can you do one for The Hunchback of Notre Dame one of these days? If you are into animated films particularly old school animated Disney. It’s such an underrated movie!❤
In Equator and Peru there were tribes that would shrink the heads of enemies. They would skin the head, then use a cooking process that shrinks it down. Then they would sew it up filling it with sand and hair. They thought it let them keep the spiritual power of a defeated enemy. I'm assuming the guy in the waiting room was a South American explorer from a century ago.
The actor of the dad was charged with horrific sex crimes! So yeah he deservedly got cancelled. In the second film they did use his likeness which was annoying because I think he would have been paid for using his likeness.
@@WatchMitchWatch I know! The fact that he featured in the film and not Alec and Geena is such a crime! 😂😅🥲 but I still love the rest of the cast! Michael and Catherine will always be my favs! But I also love Winona too!
@@WatchMitchWatch Holy guacamole my guy! I was in grad school already! Ouch! Tim Burton is a hit or miss for me. This one has its moments. I DO recommend "Edward Scissor Hands" if you haven't got to it yet. The whacky story telling, Winona Ryder, the production design are all well worth the 90 minute run time.
Smart directorial decision by Tim Burton. You have a character like Betelgeuse, and you have Michael Keaton? The wisest thing to do is just let him off both the leash and the hinges, and enjoy the results. It is rather funny that Keaton was really considering not taking the role, but what a regret that might have been, since it turned out to be his favorite. Where you have to be measured is with his screen time, otherwise, he could easily overwhelm the rest of even this talented cast.

I love the bit when Michael lifts Geena's dress up with the stick and he has a look up her dress.
28:00 to 28:06. LOL
@@frogdogcat22 hahaha yeah so funny! Not sure they’d be able to get away with that in a movie these days
This movie is a true classic. You’ll enjoy!
It really is! Have you seen the 2nd?
@@WatchMitchWatch I saw the 2nd one in theaters! It was fun, but nothing beats the original! You should check it out !
The "dropped a house on her sister" was a Wizard of Oz reference. He was calling her The Wicked Witch of the West

Makes sense to be honest. Much more memorable if you actually know what it says
I watched this film for the first time this year! I loved it and so wish I saw it as a kid because I know it would have been my thing as a child
It would've been a lot of fun as a kid, unfortunately I didn't have the privilege of seeing it then
