it would be interesting to see your episode with Weine (ol 2Stroker).. do your best to convince him I think it would be beneficial for your you tube channels.
Ol 2stroker he is pretty good with them Detroit's. Would be great to see him come down and y'all talk shop
"150 pounds and awkward"... describes me when I was a teenager! 🤣
Not bad for a one man show! 👍 Love the 2 strokes! They're what turned me on to trucks when I was a young pup. Tacking out while grabbing gears and rolling coal! That's the greatest music to this OG's ears! Can't wait til you test drive her!
We’ll see we’ll see , we’ll we as subscribers have been seeing the best truck content on the tube since you started James !! Variety is the spice of life and you have variety!! Always something different! That was awesome as always now let’s get the arm on low two stroker to get down there and do a colab !! Keep it rolling James and Jess !! Down east Canada 🇨🇦 thinks your the best!
😎👍
Hey James my friend Terry own 3 trucks he had a 1960 IH BC 180 Tandem axle gravel truck. It was the first dump truck i rode in! it ran rough burn oil like crazy! I got to ride in a 1985 Western Star 4900 dump truck with a 15 speed eaton fuller & a 250 small cam cummins. & the 3rd truck i rode in was a 2002 Western Star 4900x w/sleeper it had a 550 hp Cat 3406 18 speed. I found a Rare 60's Canadian Kenworth kw 923 (i think that the model number dump truck.) it had a also a 250 small cam cummins & a 5+4 Twin Stick Trans. Keep trucking Cheers
Nice one Mr P, great to see some Marla love again. Not long until the road test 👌Some long threaded bar will help you keep your fingers safe when you refit the flywheel, and line up the gearbox as you put it back in👍🏻
Hard to find the correct thread for the flywheel but ya I should get some for the bell housing
James Pretty Hope you Can get That Transmission in Marla replaced Keep Up the good work Billy Lizza Uniontown pa I've Had to replace Transmission I Know What it's like
Great video James glad you got Marla's trany and clutch and flywheel out. Looking forward to your next video on Marlas trany and new clutch and driveline stay safe James.
Lots of heavy work. Careful there with your back. Wish i was more careful when i was younger.
That would be cool if ol2stroker Wayne could come down and give you a hand he certainly likes working on old junk
@@jasonbrown7705 Johnny went back to his old job but we might see him again soon
Marla reminds me of when I worked for carpet transport in Calhoun Georgia. I drove one of the aerodyne cabovers he had
It takes a bad man to wrestle a clutch like that mr James but I wouldn't put it back in that way brother go get you a clutch jack, don't mess up your back it won't go away. I love the channel don't hurt yourself.
Yes its a must to preselect I agree. And your like me, ADD with the power washer, oh look I can wash that and this needs it no I better wash the driveway etc... good video. Wish I was closer I'd help you out.
Good show brother you’re get this beautiful truck back into shape ❤ that’s a good looking machine. Cheers
Wow beautiful she is right up there with Krystal 😁 and a 13 is a all around good transmission. I my self love my 18 like having them in-between gears lol
I don't know how I have noticed your channel but after watching tim gentry on a live I have now subbed to your channel.
Hi James Glad to see you're working on the ol girl. So I heard she came from Arkansas That's were my wife and I currently live. We live in North little Rock love it out here an Thank you for all the awesome content
Marla, My favorite . JP Wayno drinks Natural Light. He's the Guru of 2 strokes for sure. I hope he helps you fix Marla. Hammer down Cappy!
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 I didn’t realize that Marla was in such bad shape. I love the Centennial KW cabovers!🥰 Sharp & stunning!🤩 BJ & the Bear got me so hooked on those! Hey, where are your steel toed shoes on this one? Love the air assist on the cab jack. I’ve never seen one like that in person. So cool! Does your safety latch on the cab work? I like the 4x4 catcher. I’ve been there a few times! The back of the motor looked like a Galactic Cruiser. When your Milwaukee driver won’t work, the air tool will get the job done! LOL! This is some cool stuff. It took me a while to get through this, but I learned quite a bit! THANKS! Should be quite a runner when you’re done. So this is gonna be your work truck? Go get a ice cold lemonade or coke now. Blessings my friend. Happy July 4th!🥰💥✌️
Thanks brother. Marla has been on the edge of ready to work. Just needed to push her over ;)
It's never simple James but I'm definitely looking forward to the possibility of video with you and ol2stroker👌👌👌
Good job getting the transmission out tough man there brother picking up the clutch and Motor flywheel keep up the hard work bro and I would like to see two stroke on your channel safe travels on the airplane Captain have a good night
Good afternoon James you working on Marla I need to work on mine Miss Myra cab lock and new fuel sending unit and new radio and two tires went flat have a blessed day Happy 4th of July ✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Put some 50 weight synthetic oil in it with 2wuarts of mineral oil it might save we have done up before and it worked
My Ole Dad drove International Eagle 86 model with a 15 speed, had to be 65 mph to get it in the big hole. 3 digit Truck, well built BC Cummins. I think they gear down the rears and use they deep reduction to get moving. 500 hp Detriot and 15 spd with some 3.55s or 3.73s i would think would roll bug time.
ya the speedo is very slow on marla I need to find out how to calibrate it seems like a 3 digit ride
Good afternoon James. Maybe you can get with Tim Gentry to alot of parts you need like Transmission engines any of parts you may need...just a thought my Brother Trucker Friend...
Run the one you just took out up to the re-builders. Save a load of "petty" hassles.
I love the color on this truck
Me too it's beautiful...I think that's the best looking truck james has in the whole fleet..and black Betty is probably 2 ND because of how her sleeper is made
Each truck has it's own unique needs and attention, but it's all part of the adventure, right?
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 I’ve heard several of the old drivers say that you could drive 5 of the same trucks & each one would have their own personality & quirks. I didn’t understand it until years later I was able to drive 2 exactly same new trucks & each was different. This may not be what you were talking about, but it’s how I took it. This is some cool stuff. Blessings my friend. Happy July 4th!🥰💥✌️
Damn. JP. Nice job on the transmission removal. Not for nothing. But if just the back half is trash. Why don't you have your gear man build you a double overdrive rear half. If not. That 15spd is a good choice. Back in the Day. One of my best friends bought an 84 Aerodyne just like Marla. Except that it was powered by a KTA 600 Cummins. We drove it all over the country. All a 15spd is is a glorified heavy duty 10sp. Overdrive. With 5 sp. Deep Reduction. A of the ones that we had were..073 overdrive. I had 4 trucks with that transmission. All had really big power. Still. You only had to drive them as a 10sp. The one's we had had 9 and 10 gear turned around so tenth gear was where nineth was supposed to be. There again. Like JG Wentworth says. It's your money. Spend it like you want. ! Good Luck. Will be waiting to see what you do. ! STAY SAFE OUT THERE 🇺🇸 🤔👍
its expensive to rebuild these old obsolete trans.. I would prefer something more modern
I hear you. I guess I'm still in the Good old Days. All that stuff was WICKED Cheap to Do. Good Luck. Stay Safe. 🇺🇸👍
When removing the clutch use studs in the top holes, then slide the clutch off the studs.
Boy that’s a dilemma fix the 13 or just put the 15 in. The yoke you might be able to use the one off the 13 if the splines are the same and the depth is the same. That was really clean inside the bell housing. I think gear ratio wise the final drive ratio is the same so the top speed and power wise it should work fine. It’s too bad the length is different. You definitely should replace rear seal while you’ve got it apart. I myself would get the the flywheel resurfaced and replace rear engine mounts also. You’ve got some work to do on the rerouting of those wires so they don’t get caught up in the linkage again. That went great tho that clutch pack is a heavy bugger but you got it out. Can’t wait to see how it goes. Stay safe
thanks Darren. I appreciate ya being here.. turns out I did get to use the Yoke off the 13. and my driveshaft guy is still in business so I got the shaft settled too more videos to come.
@@JamesPretty That’s good news so you don’t have to change u joints immediately. They’ll be okay for now. Be great to see it back together and useable.
Hi James truck is looking great if I lived in the great U.S. I would help ya out take care stay safe G.Whyte
DAMN Marla is a sexy looking truck...I'm not a fan of the 8-v or 12- or 6-v 92. Too damn loud...but I am a fan of the 60 series and the big cat engines I drive a Cummings x15 it's about 435 or 450 h.p. I have the 2nd generation in my truck. It's a really good engine lots of torque
Great video as usual. On a personal note I’ve always liked a 15 speed better than a 13 speed simply because hauling heavy loads in coal country that deep reduction really helps out when you’re pulling out in a tough spot. Just my two cents lol.
After I got covid twice I get dizzy when I lay down. Makes it hard for me to work on my truck. It sucks
I went with a RTLO-16713A when I changed trans. Yeah, I know. Probably not the most ideal. Looks like this went pretty smooth. Should clean up good on the inside too.
Just one more thing ..... Input shaft length and pilot bearing size.... SAME ? Longer ? Shorter ? Great video Thanks
Hi James I’m curious the guy that tried to sell you a locked up motor how do you know if he’s sold you a transmission that’s got issues I’d feel bad for you if after you get it bolted in pay to make the driveshaft shorter and it won’t move. There’s scammers out there and they don’t have any problems selling junk to anybody so I wish you good luck with the transmission.
I hade a 15 double over in my 82 359 Pete love that trans 5 under 5 mid 5 high range have to shift it reverse horse shoe best transmission i ever had
Question ❓ any updates on truck # 11
Ok the reason why I asked I cause I'm a Ford Guy Also I learned something new I didn't know that Ford made semi trucks
Hey probably know a guy that could ol 2 stroke a cheap plane ticket is that guy still around? Lol
🖐️👏👍🥰
Why pray, when you can pry i thought you would fall asleep under the truck.
What is the point to it all not even one of them are on the road
On the road as in trucking? Because three of my trucks have been to shows and four more run and drive and are close to roadworthy. I’m a one man band this stuff takes time
🇺🇸O-H-I-O Porter greetings. I’m with ya! Each has been A Work In Progress! Dude, I’m thrilled that I get to learn a great bit from ya & get inspired even by the number of trucks you have. Hey, your driveway isn’t completely packed yet & your wife isn’t complaining about your trucks. This is something personal, but I did tell my wife this… I would love to have about 6 trucks, all in my garage, so I can drive 1 truck each of the 6 days & then drive a special car on Sundays. If I were a rich man! She laughs all the time at me on that one! Happy July 4th!🥰💥✌️
I love that truck it’s so nice, can I ask , what do you do with your trucks when you’ve built them? Are they for sale or do they go out to work for you? Cheers great channel
Yo James what kind of pilot are you ????? I've seen several comments that you're a pilot
I love Wayne's videos too I watched him yesterday...I love how he talks...he sounds like one of the guys that grew up in the 1950's..lol
nice .. ya Wayne is a great guy
