Bethany, I have watched all of your videos. I purchased the Baby Lock Alliance after you started posting your videos. I am just making my first project. PLEASE make more detailed embroidery and applique videos, I love the way you teach!
A high preasure heat press helps tender touch stay.
Unfortunately, I switched to using my high pressure heat press for tender touch and it still falls off... I must just not have great luck with it because I have had several failed attempts even trying different methods!
I smile every time you say”Do as I say not as I Do”. 1 of my moms favorite quotes when I was a child. 😂

What a project, and it came out beautifully. I have mostly only embroidered directly on the shirt or bag. I love how you have added fabric to it as well.

Could you use a heat press for the heat & bond?

Pre-shrink your fabric or garment thoroughly before embroidering. If the fabric shrinks afterward, it will appear puckered around the embroidery. To pre-shrink, wash and dry the fabric the way you will after the item is completed.
I’ve used Duckbill scissors
They are some of best scissors for trimming applique because the bill allows for better visibility when the fabric stands out.
I’ve had some duckbill scissors in my cart for awhile now, but have shown preference to my current curved set for the intricate corners. I’ll probably test out some duckbills someday, though so far I’m liking my set!

I’ve studied the Baby Lock Alliance and I’m really wanting to purchase one since I was thinking about adding embroidery to my crafts. I wish I had little girls to embroidery for, but I know there are a ton of different uses. Did you get the hat/cap attachment? I’m really close to pulling the trigger on this machine because I’ve been researching and studying it for the past 6 months. It was like a sign from God that I should buy it when you got one. : )

Hi, these were exquisitely beautiful appliqués! I subscribed to your channel a while ago because I had purchase a Cricut machine and I love how thorough you are in your tutorials, but I have been embroidering for over 10 years and I am so happy you have ventured into this hobby as well. Appliques are everyone's favorites for kids. As someone said before me, I only use water soluble stabilizer for Terry fabrics, like towels and some flannels, to avoid the thread sinking into the Terry and altering the design. But most IMPORTANTLY, some appliqués are really intricate to cut (a real pain in the neck)... however, you can cut those shapes in a Cricut maker. I also have a Scan n Cut and is easier for me to scan the design and cut it there. But since you are an expert with the Cricut you may want to give it a try. Of course, like the crayon one, you would have to separate the shapes in Cricut Design, then I apply the heat n bond to a piece of fabric and then cut it in the machine.... then I would place my perfectly cut fabric inside the placement stitch (like a puzzle piece), and will iron it with my little mini easy press (I do not use parchment paper when ironing the appliqué, after all, is just thread and fabric that you iron after the wash anyways... I do use parchment paper at the end when pressing, since the temperature and pressure is different than that of ironing), and eliminate the cutting on the hoop. Of course, easy cuttings I do it directly in the hoop, but not so easy shapes I do pre-cut in the maker. Anyways, excellent tutorial, and pretty shirts.

I’ve always wanted an embroidery machine but now that my boys are a little older (4 &6) I’m thinking I’d be better off with a heat press. Which would you recommend?
Sue S. love your very thorough tutorial. Duckbill scissors or curved embroidery scissors, I found are useful for trimming your appliqué. I’m sure your daughter will be very happy with her lovely shirt. Sue
Yes! The scissors I used are curved embroidery scissors, it may have just been hard to tell in the video. I really like them. :)
Stunning! I tend to run out and purchase everything you craft with because you are amazing and I love everything you do. This is a hobby that I sadly have to pass on but I will watch all your videos and who knows, maybe someday I will purchase an embroidery machine. So beautiful.

Bethany you did such a beautiful job! Your a pro and could sell all your gorgeous creations! You make it look so easy! You have such talent and creativity! I didn't, but soon after I did get some Mighty Hoops and Durkee EZ frames. :)

What are the dimensions of the machine? I can’t find it anywhere online and I need to know if it will fit my space before purchasing.
