So lads, I made a mistake. Saw the landmarks and got excited to see they at least added landmarks, because i didn't remember the landmarks used to be the same. The reality is, the region is not worth rushing, it has been heavily nerfed with no real incentive apart from removing the massive debuff for Belegar which is like removing a brace to be able to walk properly. So yea massively nerfed cause no space to build shit. When I make a mistake ill own it. No buff just Nerf!

@@Linksi It IS much worse at least for dwarfs now that it's two settlement city, Underway Junction doesn't give passive income like it does for Skaven and it just scales income from other buildings in the province, with 2 cities it's much worse for dwarfs ( Underway Junction is available for all dwarf factions ). As for unique building for belegar, I suspect it will get even less play now, useful mostly for Control and Corruption.
Never understood CAs less is more approach to things. Dumbing down and removing mechanics and making things less intricate .... Gotta say it's something that I've always let get to me more than I probably should. Almost seems intentional to get the players to start buzz online talking about it and then sell the fix later in a patch/dlc

@@Linksi It's more infuriating given Queek doesn't have a negative modifier for NOT having eight peaks, and if you look at Skarsnik, he's a goblin leader so I consider eight peaks to be a straight buff if he gets to recruit orks from there. Belegar is the only one who gets nerfed when he doesn't control eight peaks. Furthermore, both Skarsnik and Queek are really cool characters regardless, whereas Belegar and his entire faction are entirely, 100% about Eight Peaks and nothing more. It not only makes no sense for Dwarves to have the weakest Karak Eight Peaks but it's drastically imbalanced when Dwarves also have a nerf when they don't control it. I hope some serious changes are made to fix Belegar rather than having two less important characters to Eight Peaks have the most important bonuses regarding it.

The fact that Eight Peaks is more valuable to the Skaven and Greenskins than the dwarves is the greatest of insults. Disregarding the removal of the continuously insane 50 % upkeep debuff for Belegar's faction, 10 % trade tariffs and 5 % ironbreaker upkeep is worth less than a gold mine, and the local bonuses to defense doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. The insult is doubly grievous by virtue of Belegar being much further away from Eight Peaks and with a much higher penalty for not having owning the settlement than Queek and Skarsnik.
The buildings didn't get changed that much. And Karak height peaks is still really lackluster for Clan Amgrund to take. The ancestral tombs building chain should have at least some global bonuses, but instead the only major bonus is the loss of the +50% upkeep. Clan Amgrund should be more powerfull than your average dwarf faction after they take the height peaks but they are not

Current Eight Peaks is... Surprisingly lackluster Magical weapons at t5 sounds nice... But when you get this to t5, you're likely gonna control the adjacent regions anyway The buff broke with the grudge system rework. RIP Belegar

Creative Assembly has looked at the data and found that most players do not leave the regions surrounding the starting area (conquering wise), it is only a smaller percentage that actually ends up conquering half or most of the world.

And does that data indicate that people don't conquer the entire world or does it indicate that few finishes their conquest campaigns? I'm pretty sure it's the latter moreso than the first. Either way, Clan Angrund in particular is a very stretched out campaign with lots of fights far away from Eight Peaks, they don't get much value at all from magical weaponry. The best targets for that kind of weapons is also generally speaking the undead or demons, neither of which will be found near Eight Peaks so it's largely wasted.

Major benefit, for the dwarfs specifically, is just getting normal upkeep again, 50% increase until you capture K8P is annoying, but thematic if nothing else. Skarsnik got shafted though, he gets orcs, but by the time you get to K8Ps you have so many benefits for gobbos the orcs won't really help you, imo at least.
Like many have said losing many slots (from both 8 peaks itself but two smaller cities is a lot to lose. A lot less ability to build and something miner but I always enjoyed is having wood at one of the settlements. It was mostly good for Belegar cuz it increases the level of rangers recruited in that province but that was enough for me to always build it

@@Asraeks Black Crag and Karaz-a-Karak were significantly better than 8 Peaks. Only major advantage 8 Peaks had was growth rates due to having 4 settlements for growth + a pasture building chain for yet more growth so you could hit T5 quickly (for dwarfs at least).

Belegar is my favorite legendary Lord and campaign, and at first glance I'm 90% sure literally nothing changed in either landmark buildings. If so, it's meagre at best. They heavily nerfed Eight Peaks but especially Belegar. If nothing changes, at least lower the crippling upkeep debuff to 25%.
Literally, almost all of it is worthless for Dorfs. Lucky Queek I guess, even though they have zero debuffs for not having eight peaks... and they have a perfectly good campaign and thicc lore without Eight Peaks being involved! Makes no sense 🙃
Why is there no more environmental architecture anymore?? In ME there were pyres, and walkways and other things in the mountains around the city, now it's just another generic dwarf hold
I had some Really good runs, but then I had some nightmare ones. (Rushed it around 10 times with all of them combined) but not sure if the region feels weaker or stronger.
The magical damage buff is kind of meh, since it only affects the local province and the armies in the near vicinity. Also, magical resistance is very easy to get for practically any faction, so it might actually be a detriment.

This is so dumb for dwarfs. The Skaven get a -10% upkeep reduction for most of there key units, the Dwarfs get a -5% for one of there units. The Skaven get a extra 1000 gold per turn though the buildings the Dwarfs get do nothing for income. The Skaven get a extra 15 to sacking any settlement the dwarfs get magic weapons for the units in the province. Its dumb how much the dwarfs got shat on in this. Not to mention the dwarfs start the furthest away and are the only one whos entire faction is hurt from it.
although i hate the less construction slots, it actually forces the player to sacrifice a building for the other, in immortal empires i build the same buildings and layout everywhere which got boring real fast construction became a hassle but now you gotta think for a bit before throwing down any building, in terms of 8 peaks it should gotten the ancient forest treatment seems fair since in the lore its all greatest hold for the dwarves, special buildings, units, and bonuses for the dwarves are must at 8 peaks
Why not go even further? Lets have max 1 slot per settlement, each will be super unique and we get to sacrifice even more! Yay! I mean, wtf is that logic? Why not implement mechanics that allows you to specialize your provinces like advanced edicts, instean of just deleting player's agency on what and how to build? Why players are defending their lazy ways?
Karak 8peaks sure wasn't worth to rush for assuming you are not the big 3 fighting for it, but even if you are someone else and you take it, the consequences are pitiful because the dwarf king of couches still field armies with units that should break him financially.
EDit: Ok I realized I end this comment to shortly, I meant to say that what if you are Kroq gar and you take the mountains and thus goblin Sun tzu and King of couches are forced to pound sand or go to war with you.
So my Belegar campaign is already Ruined. And because they also changed from 4 to 2 settlements even less fun. So in general even for other Dwarfs this is absolute garbage. Literally Dwarfs recieving nerfs after nerfs or enemy factions recieve such buffs that simply make any Dwarf advantage worthless.
Dwarf one is really weak, what are you talking about? Very weak global bonuses and bonus to defense in local province. Its unchanged from wh2. And dwarves has the highest penalty. And 8 peaks was downgraded in size.

I think the Landmarks were always there as well. Certainly were in Warhammer 2, at least for Belegar and Skarsnik.

The Grand Underway Junction is identical to how it was in WH2. So for dwarves, losing 2 slots and 2 regions it's just a nerf. Pretty salty about that.

Doesn't work like that anymore magic resist in now spell resist. Magic attacks are not effected and are only beneficial

The Skaven get a extra 15 to sacking any settlement the dwarfs get magic weapons for the units in the province.
Its dumb how much the dwarfs got shat on in this. Not to mention the dwarfs start the furthest away and are the only one whos entire faction is hurt from it.
I have hopes, and a lot of copium that this might change
although i hate the less construction slots, it actually forces the player to sacrifice a building for the other, in immortal empires i build the same buildings and layout everywhere which got boring real fast construction became a hassle but now you gotta think for a bit before throwing down any building, in terms of 8 peaks it should gotten the ancient forest treatment seems fair since in the lore its all greatest hold for the dwarves, special buildings, units, and bonuses for the dwarves are must at 8 peaks

Why not go even further? Lets have max 1 slot per settlement, each will be super unique and we get to sacrifice even more! Yay!
I mean, wtf is that logic? Why not implement mechanics that allows you to specialize your provinces like advanced edicts, instean of just deleting player's agency on what and how to build? Why players are defending their lazy ways?

Karak 8peaks sure wasn't worth to rush for assuming you are not the big 3 fighting for it, but even if you are someone else and you take it, the consequences are pitiful because the dwarf king of couches still field armies with units that should break him financially.
EDit: Ok I realized I end this comment to shortly, I meant to say that what if you are Kroq gar and you take the mountains and thus goblin Sun tzu and King of couches are forced to pound sand or go to war with you.
Definently gonna need a mod to make belegar playable or to buff 8 peaks for him

So my Belegar campaign is already Ruined. And because they also changed from 4 to 2 settlements even less fun.
So in general even for other Dwarfs this is absolute garbage.
Literally Dwarfs recieving nerfs after nerfs or enemy factions recieve such buffs that simply make any Dwarf advantage worthless.

Dwarf one is really weak, what are you talking about? Very weak global bonuses and bonus to defense in local province. Its unchanged from wh2. And dwarves has the highest penalty. And 8 peaks was downgraded in size.
