Throwback to 1983 when I was on the road with Debby Boone and she would allow me to feature a few songs of my own. One of the ones I often sang was 'A Jew Born Anew' - a testimony song I'd written to tell my own story as a Jew who came to know Yeshua, Jesus, as his Messiah!

The ‘Coronavirus Pandemic’ of 2020…
afforded us something we would not have otherwise had: LOTS of time at home. With the help of our daughter, Misha, we were able to go through boxes of video tapes, cassettes and ‘reel to reel’ recordings that had been sitting in our storage room for decades. The result is an album of songs entitled 'Singin' in the Reign (Scrapbook)'; some songs never released, others in their original piano/vocal form, along with selections from our very first cassette recording, ‘More Than The Watchman’.

I had a Bar Mitzvah when I was thirteen
Greatest Bar Mitzvah that you’ve ever seen.
The temple on the corner of Mayfield and Lee
Was filled with my friends and my family

With catering far as the eye could see,

That Yeshua is God’s only son

So Hallelujah to Yeshua from a Jew who never knew ya,
Could come to die for a schmo like I was,
Just so I could win the prize
and be with my Messiah in the skies!
They say on Bar Mitzvah day I became a man,
I’ve tried to live that way, done the best that I can,
But I’ve been worried since way back when
‘Cause I’ve never done anything great since then,
And though I could live ‘til a hundred and ten
And never have need of a fountain pen,
I might never succeed in the sight of men,
And they won’t let me get Bar Mitzvahed again!

That Yeshua is God’s only son

Who wants to do to ya what He did to me!
He came to live in a schlep like I was
Yep, it’s true on Christmas morn,
The truest Jew that ever was, was born!
