It wasn't Citroen that conceived it, it was designed and the prototype built by one of Citroen's supplier Roland de Poype a WWII fighter ace who headed Société d'Etudes et d'Applications des Brevets. 1:08 Body rollllll! 😂
Probably not amazing on a track day.
If he went back to conventional ICE - that would scrub 25k off the price - and he would sell a thousand ICEs for every 1 electric.
And by the way, where in France are you testing the little Mehari? But it’s a very attractive little car for driving in Greater London!!
Cassis
When I was young we lived in the south of Spain - and my Mum had an orange Mehari! I'm sure at the time it was one of the cheapest new cars available. I can't recall whether we had the fabric doors - I think we might have.
Just realised that's what Technic 8845 is inspired by
Another great video, thanks Jonny. Must be a nice relaxing life style once you have one of these. Nice to see you with a colour coordinated watch strap…taking the job seriously 😂
About a couple years ago my local car dealer started selling the new version of the Mini Moke, I was excited to be able to by a cheap fun second car for the summers until I noticed the price. 28 k for the most basic mechanical car you can find, absolutely bonkers.
How many memories of one of these in greeny yellow colour when I was a kid
Love it, but I loved my Dyane as well. I'd have one without hesitation if I lived in a climate like Jonny was in.
Last time I went on holiday with my dad, Ibiza circa 1980, we hired an orange one of those.. I was 13!
Memories!
At 10:17, I have decided I file this cute little run about putt putt. It’s whimsical and entertaining. It looks like a real car verses the electric moke which looks and feels a little too much like a golf cart.
The Mehari also stars in a film in which Charlton Heston is one of the last people on earth, think it was called Omega Man
Watching this in Alicante airport waiting for a flight where I’ve spent a week Mehari spotting with my girlfriends dad, he’ll be happy when I tell him about this
Can you take it to that 2CV ice race I vaguely remember you doing?
You absolutely can. Pack a coat and gloves.
The wobble on the passenger side front tire/rim is incredible.
The "oh shit" handle! 🤣🤣
Funny..
The wive of my doctor (herself also a doctor) drove one daily also for visits to patients.
The thing was ALWAYS parked outside and looked unloved..in green it blended in with the surroundings.
NOT in a sunny dry country but in the Netherlands below see level.
Otherwise she was a real lady…that contrasted awesome.
