CATIA V5 - How to create an Exploded View

This is a demo that shows how to produce an exploded view in assembly design then bring it into the drafting workbench.

I know. CATIA is not the best when it comes to exploded views. it even more challenging if
you have sub assemblies. you can use the compass to pull apart the parts. but that takes forever. Did you tried the "constrained" option in the drop down menu? It's a better choice than 3D explode.

At 0:00, where did the "Scenes" toolbar come from?

+Thad Larson it's in assembly mode. it has to be checked in your toolbar menu. after that, it might still be hiding in the bottom right corner of your screen.

@@mtmCADI actually got it. I just had to transition to assembly design. I just didnt know where you got all thoose functions from. Thx for help. Now i can actually finish my school work.

Guys. I needed to add more parts (after made a scene) in my product. But when You go to scene. those ones are missed on the scene. Is it possible to show those parts?? Or Will I need to make/do the scene again?

You need to make another scene. Cause the 1st one was a snap shop of what u had at the time.

This pretty much sucks no trace lines nog hierarchy. It's like taking it apart and dumping all parts in a box shaking it a bit and then say here this is the assembly in exploded view.
Dragging products isn't even possible without selecting then in the tree, so if you got a lot of products your screwed too.
And there is more. If you add something new or replace a part it gets reset to the 0,0,0. Even if it is in a assembly that is moved. This feature has so much fail.

Worst EXPLODE VIEW in the History of CAD.
I'm fighting with CATIA like 4 hours just to get a nice looking view.
The default explode looks like a bomb exploded inside my product..
