Not everything is auto-tuned if the singer can stay in tune. Auto-tune effect is very noticeable in most cases so it was kinda obvious that it wasn't used in this because you can clearly hear proper singing technique.

Auto-tune is noticeable, so we use tools like Melodyne, which are not noticeable if the vocalist isn't tragic :> But we tune by hand and ear then.
That voice is just too beautiful. It's one reason why i fell in love with this game and their songs.
I know this is late but I agree but I think I might love the game a little too much because I olayed it at least 14 times or more in a row...and I'm currently on my 15th playthrough
The moment Ashley started singing, my heart just stopped. I've never fallen in love with a woman's voice so quickly.

Ashley isn't a actress, of course she would do the sountrack but other actress should take the role and dubbed in musics.

Why have I seen so many people bashing Darren's singing and/or guitar playing abilities? Seriously, guys... this is good stuff. What do you expect him to be doing that this was so disappointing?
Also, at 8:05 they pulled off that sweet, sweet harmony quite well. If he wasn't good at singing that would have sounded awful.
Darren is an amazingly talented composer, and a very good singer. For this performance, however, he appeared to try to overwhelm Ashley Barrett - for what purpose, i cannot tell.

Shes been in Bastion, Transistor and Hades. I always say to myself. "Gosh this voice is amazing" Until recently didn't think much else of it besides just loving the soundtracks. Until I found myself playing Hades today and found Eurydice for the first time and just let it repeat that solo for 30 minutes.
Now I am here.

+Josip Jelavic Actually, the reason why she did that is because even with the transistor's godly powers, it can't revive the dead. Red rebuilding a city with no one that's going to live in it would be an empty gesture. Though, I have to admit, the writing was very off and bad at the ending.

I read the comments first... And expected to hear a dying cat at 7:55 ish. Instead I hear a beautiful (well maybe slightly off at that first note) harmony from a guy that can sing great, and creates the best video game music (aww screw it, music in general!) that I've heard in a long time...
The moral of this story? UA-cam comments are tone deaf and like to vastly over exaggerate things they can't hear/or sing. =.= thank you for listening. (hue. hue. I'm sorry..)
He seems much flatter in the lower registers than the highers, its obviously just something he needs to work on. Nothing that isn't salvageable here.
Yup, overall a good job. Live performance is hard to nail 100 percent. Takes lots of practice for blend, intonation, balance. They kept it together and I enjoyed the hell out of it.
Sam Y.B He got too close to the mic is all. On accident. You seem him move his head back like "whoa that was too loud". I think he got the note right, it was just too loud, he was trying to be back up and his voice got louder than her's for a second. Also, he's playing guitar AND singing, which, as a lot of people can relate with, will screw you up when you start singing, especially if you were only playing guitar for a while and just jumping in like that. Not a big deal, people are just stupid.
The first note was awfully loud and almost ruined it, but if you give it a chance their voices synergize beautifully. It was probably a combination of being too close to the mic and accidentally "lurching" into song while attempting to play the guitar at the same time.
Despite that it is still my favourite version of them performing this song
Can they just make an album? Like, we don’t even need another Supergiant game to justify it.

Dan Carrigan It really wasn't at all. They did have some great harmony together, but the one spot, he totally screwed it. Sounded like someone stepped on a cat.
uglymages I disagree. I have listened to this many times now both through my computer speakers, and studio headphones, and it is a fine chord / harmony. However, I will say he could have come in a bit more precise, but that is the nature of live performances.
Am I the ONLY one who thinks other than that voice crack in We All Become, Darren sounded fine?
He came in a tad flat at the end, but it was fine. He has a great voice. Might have just been nerves, since it was a new song at the time.
Without a doubt the best soundtrack of a game in a long while.
