  • Our first real adventure on our American Southwest road trip finds us at Carlsbad Caverns National Park, where we hike down through the natural entrance, dropping 750 feet to the bottom chambers on this self-guided exploration of the main cave system. Located in southeast New Mexico in the Guadalupe Mountains, Carlsbad Caverns is not to be missed if you love caves with lots of history and underground formations.

Amazing cave ❤ quite a hike down and very interesting to hear about Jim discovering it. That's awesome that there's an elevator you can take too. Amazing tour 😁

Wow, great video. It is a place that I have heard of several times, but I haven't watched a video on it.
    Thanks for this video.

It is hard to make videos of caves due to the low light, but I had to try! Thanks for watching.

Plan your trip when you can see the bats. I’ve been to caves 3 times but only saw bat flight 9/23 trip. Well worth staying to see!! I’ve been in many caves over the USA and Carlsbad is the BEST!!

Impressive descent! Awesome tour. I’m sure the gift shop workers are thankful for the elevator 😂

Haha, yeah. Apparently they installed that elevator back in the 1930s!

Carlsbad Cavern is my favorite cave that I have ever been to. Had no idea there was a natural entrance. We cheated and took the cave. That main cavern looks like you are inside a football Stadium. Happy New Year guys.

Of the many caves I've toured, this was probably my favorite! I loved going down the natural entrance, that was half the fun. BUT I wasn't doing it with younger kids, that would definitely make a difference. That main cavern was amazing, formations everywhere!!
