- As the Spitfire Factory team gets its newly built fuselage off to the paint shop, we find out how wings can be either restored or built from scratch. Owner Peter Monk gears up for a family holiday like no other, as he and his boys travel in World War 2 jeeps to the beaches of Normandy to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Spitfire Factory historian Robin organises a special veterans’ day at the hangar, and restoration guru Steve Vizard gets to work rebuilding a long-forgotten cousin of the Spitfire: the Hawker Typhoon.

would love to know if one of my my grandfather's old spits, based out of Burma, is still flying, or under restoration somewhere. Heavily involved in the air battles of Imphal, he was part of Churchills own. JG379 and MA368 of County of Durham 607 sqdn. Would be the impressive mark Viii's
Did they cut up and butcher and original spit and make it dual control ? Holy shit i WOULD OF NEVER DONE THAT
Cool vid. How do they get away with no overspray when painting? Especially with the corporate jet next to it?
The music is unnecessary, intrusive, too loud, and shows reprehensible ignorance, and very often the commentary is drowned out by other audio. The whole job is a pig's ear. Delete the music and reset the relative volumes.
Very moving
Whoever directed and did the sound on these documentaries should go back to audio kindergarten and start again.
Audio in this sucks. Someone likes music more that the narrator telling watchers the info. Well at least the music was faded for hearing the workers say their piece. But for me Audio makes or breaks these videos, and this one is broken. Imagine that without the music, I could have more clearly made as much sense of the narration, as I did the workers statements.
the sound is unbearable !
Constant music was irritating, unnecessary and frightfully annoying.
Just a repeat of another post .. give me a break.
