Glad it’s you & not me! Spent my time behind the wheel! Truckin is all I know, turned 60 in February! Iam done! Your channel, covers huge emotions! Thanks for you had work, so we can enjoy!
4.5.6 rears and a 4 speed behind the 18 that gives a obver drive, most common set up. some of our trucks have 4.3.0 rears. no problem getting 140 kph plus with moderate rpms. im governed so im used to foot floor, the odd one isn't and i found out why im passing so dam fast
man i love your vids! im a pipeliner and me and the boys sit watching your vids on downtime (been waiting 6 hours for some new pipe sections to be delivered)
i only worry about height when going down hwy 2 is the freeway of alberta, loaded like this if you get the sweet spot so not too much is overhanging you can just make 5.2M tall, same on a highboy too. really only need to worry when your 5.3 and up. but as i hauled a ton of service rigs back in the day most very tall 5.5m 5.6m with tno issues as long as you know your high load routes to get places
a bed is less work then a picker, having a radio so your on the same page as the bed, we used yelling as communication. trudging in the mud all day is tiring but it was always fun, tire chains every day, digging ears out of frozen mud to put on the sling........ 18hr days all payed off on payday. early mornings cause your in the slowest truck. first in last to leave. but there's also easy days to, when its dry or frozen.
I just drove through Casper Wyoming the other day that's a big oilfield town saw a lot of winch trucks and oilfield trailers hauling oil field stuff but the new thing is wind turbines there's like 20 new wind turbines being built outside of Casper so the oilfield haulers are now hauling wind turbine parts but at least they're hauling something
there was a lot of turbine activity in the south, theres a laydown yard i go by time to time full of em. and us ab boarder i always used to see activity of trucks hauling turbines and fins. been awhile since ive been in the area. diversification i say is the answer to any trucking company
I always slapped my chains on starting from the middle to inside then pull all the slack to the outside with a snipe bar. Typically never have to tighten them unless they are stretched out.
minus bar to tighten yes this is typical of how its done, unless if you watch ice road truckers 🤣 i want to yell at the screen, they lay them down on the ground and drive onto them...... im sure its just for show cause thats how they like to create drama
I have hauled Cat 395 excavators in sloop and goat paths like you, driving on a 12 percent grade strap, a d-11 on the front, and go for the ride all 125 feet of me
there's a bit yes, to bad i didn't have a mechanical truck to play with, there's a lot more going on in there with 3 leavers to run a winch, maybe someday there will be a hobby rig
Cool show; been watching for a bit. Gotta ask you when you load or unload do you dump air bags or not ? Love the saga intros & a&w 15min water cooler chats sweet👍
dump to unload yup, so when the weight comes off it doesn't stretch out your shocks, most suspensions are chained or strapped so they dont go past max, but dumping also give a slight down hill so stuff falls off, and thanks for watching too
@@TimelapseTruckerRTOT After they shut down the powerplant in Jasper and myself and 11 other people lost our jobs, it was a way to extend the axe, still live there, was lucky not to lose my home, so many of my friends and neighbours weren't as fortunate!
😪 i dont live in there, its not that bad. there were days it was across the seats with no sleeper with 3 sticks coming out of the floor. a bigger sleeper would be nice but its not really a issue
Nope, nothing less than a 72-inch sleeper, frig, microwave, smart TV Starlink sat; that's my type of ruffing it. Spent my time in a coffin box sleeper never again

slave lake is where the most beat on 7.3 idi on youtube came from
I copy, figured so since it’s called slave lake on zip
Looks like you don't have to worry about how tall you are. You loaded that shack and didn't miss a beat!

I swamped on that k&c floater. She was a unit
how is it to be swamper. just curious
If you don’t drag your ass and listen to what your told it’s great lol
ive worked around it a few times over the years and its always a show stopper for me. hands down best floater ive seen, always rolling heavy coal

There used to be a restaurant at that Petrocan in Fawcett that served the best pie.
That was my grandmas pie she’s long gone now but restaurant is still there
That's awesome. We used to plan trips so that we could stop in there for lunch or dinner. Even if we were late we stopped.
yeah still there i showed up at 9 and they closed at 9, but had dinner the next night and breakfast the following morn. was decent
@@rcjackscx10. so you have the recipe and still make? that would be great
I was working for them when they first bought that sow . It had a huge over slung deck on it for houling pipe .
it was missing in action for a long time after K&C went under or sold out. its such a cool unit, good to see it back doing its purpose
Great stuff, JC.
thanks

When it rains it pours, hell you can't win for losing lolol
looks slick as all hell

Thank you for showing the controls for winching that was sweeet! Looks like theres quite a bit going on inside that cab to make things happen

I’ve did reclamation for Cnrl around Gift lake and ya it gets pretty greasy when it rains there, had some geese land on site once it was that bad lol
it seems pretty wet always

Gotta love the mud😡😡👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻
most days its fun
in my western star got a big ass stratosphere bunk.
ive never been in one but maybe for a glance. they look massive
they are massive. but the fucking cabinets keep rattling. got cardboard jammed everywhere
Reclamation, did a couple months in Jasper after they put in the powerline.
yeah that word...... jasper must have been sweet, did a lot of swamp mats there when they were doing the pipeline upgrades thru there.
