Pertenece a ese tipo de personas que no deberían morir nunca y mantenerse siempre en el apogeo de su talento. ¿Mal actor, un físico desproporcionado? ¡QUÉ IMPORTAN TALES MINUCIAS! SU HERMOSÍSMA VOZ Y SU DECIR CANTANDO INCOMPARABLE Y CONMOVEDOR LLEGABA Y LLEGA AL FONDO DEL ALMA DE QUIEN LE ESCUCHA. La imagen, la luz no importan; aún en la más profunda de la oscuridad su voz hace brillar y vibrar las fibras y cuerdas más intimas del espíritu.
No lo considero mal actor, para mi es buenisimo.

Pava always said he was a "tenor buff", and one can tell by his smile and "playfulness" while performing with the pop stars; as well as, Domingo and Carreras, that he respected their individual talents and enjoyed immensely their company, never comparing their singing to his own. Many "colleagues" have said how gracious he was to encourage new talent and to "share" the audience adoration with them. A perfect man--no, but then no one is; however, we will not see his like again!
@65willows For me, it is all that and more. That God given, bell sound, open throat, voice can literally rip out my heart w/out even seeing his face. When the emotion of the aria is written on his face and etched into his voice--I weep! Also, I don't care how large he got, Pava exuded sensuality from every pore as evidenced by the throngs of women who followed his every move. Most of all, the knowledge that Pava would give every ounce of his being for his audience is what makes his magic.

This man was a vocal wizard or at least his technique gives that illusion because he manages to sing this whole aria without letting the viewer know he'd taken a breath. And that's before we even get on to the actual voice.
What an absolutely wonderful voice Pavarotti had. Miss him.

Che dire... Trasporto, enfasi, interpretazione.... Gustavo in tutto il suo rimpianto e la sua delusione... Meraviglioso. Ed il pubblico scaligero che allora non perdonava gliene rese merito come dovuto. Pavarotti... C'erano voci migliori ma a volte era insuperabile. Questo fu uno di quei casi..
Qui era a Vienna, non alla Scala
Vienna. Dove avevano un palato più raffinato e soprattutto meno livoroso di Milano.

This is not even one of my top 12 tenor arias and look what he did with it. This is not one of my top 6 operas and what he must have done with that. This is probably one of the operas I did not see at the Metropolitan Opera: 1) Un Ballo in Maschera, 2) Don Carlo, 3) Il Trovatore, 4) La Forza del Destino, and 5) Eugene Onegin. // I remember telling one of my manager's, when Pavarotti dies, I'm taking off from work.
