How can you make a Disney racing game without Lightning Mcqueen? He should literally be the first character to come to mind besides Mickey.
What you say makes no sens, if McQueen was a racer then they would not be able to sell the racer that should be in it since McQueen is just a Car alone

Also, for those saying this is the release, it's not. Buying the Founder's Pass is basically going to grant you early access to the game as well as characters you would otherwise have to pay money or grind for in the game.

$60-70 and you only get 6 out of the 10 or so characters, lol. It’s like companies are so against launching a game at not full price, they’d rather launch it for “free” and ruin the experience with MTX baked into the experience. “Fine, we’ll have a cheaper option… but you basically get nothing and it’s only available for a few months”.

Sounds like they’re not confident it’ll do well, if their free-to-play game has to ask for money (up to full price) upfront. You might get some people paying to get it early, but it’s also the worst time. Who wants to invest (up to) full price in something that barely has content? You don’t even get all the characters if you do, only 6 of them, lol. That’s ridiculous. I guess the fear could be if they wait too long to add some kind of bundles like these, people may have earned all they wanted or not feel interested in paying. To me though, they should wait a few months until they have more content and then launch as FTP with these bundles. Because people are nervous a FTP game will die at any point, which typically have little content to begin with, so why invest without trying it out?
Seems like Toy Story and Lilo & Stitch are forthcoming; probably Woody, Buzz, Lilo and Stitch I say (unless they throw in wild cards like Bo, Jessie, Jumba, Pleakley...)
I'm getting this but reading if we wait we can get it for free? None of those packs pique my interest. I hope Aladdin or Jafar gets in!

It is. They are advertising the Founder's Pass, which is basically if you buy the pass, you are granted early access to the game and get some unlocks and exclusive content for buying said pass.

@@jeremyriley1238 I think you guys are forgetting that there was never any mention of an early access period. Dreamlight Valley and this game got announced around the same time and we knew well in advance that DLV was gonna have a paid early access. These people probably saw how successful that route was and decided to change it. Let's not forget that this game was supposed to have been out a while ago so that confirms my suspicion even more that they did this.
@P A plus DLV was on Gamepass like day one. If you had that you could play *with* the founder's pack stuff
That game was glitchy and buggy AF at first so I'm glad they used the early access to iron out kinks and slowly roll out stuff

I'm looking forward to this because I love kart racers, but with what happened to Chocobo GP live service/season pass model, I'm a little weary.
I mean, Disney characters have a wider appeal than Chocobos, so I’d be surprised if it doesn’t last longer (in terms of audience interest). Although that depends on what Disney considers a success or failure, and if they pull the plug early.

Looks okay graphics-wise, but how's the actual driving? That's a deal breaker in these games, although the hard push for premium season passes is also concerning - just look at how fast Chocobo GP died. If there was a playable demo then I'd be able to decide if I wanted to pay for cosmetics or not.
I never really seen people's issue with free live service games or live service models that only involve cosmetics?
Maybe I'm the the minority here but I personally love destroying people with only a default skin

The fact the outfits are just racing suits is so lame. Combining all these universes is wacky, and even the racers themselves, so why are their costumes so bland? I mean, I know the answer, it’s easier to make colour swaps than actual outfits/models, but artistically it’s lame. Makes even less sense when this is going to be a free to play game where they get money from cosmetics. Who wants to pay for a recolour? Waste of money.

The gameplay looks like it could be ok. But it's clearly littered with free to play junk which is just off putting. As soon as a game has a in-game currency system which is tied to real money, I'm out.

The top tier “ultimate” founder’s pass or whatever it’s called is SEVENTY bucks? Who would want to pay more than a regular game for some micro transactions for a free-to-play game?

The Pokemon DLC is a one time fee and adds enough content to extend our play and I much prefer it over them releasing a "second version" for another $60 like they used to. Much different than paying $70 ($10 more than a normal game) to then pay for a battle pass even 1 1/2 months.
