I recently found your channel and immediately subscribed. You've given out some really helpful advice. Would you consider doing a video where you break down your study process for a core exam? As in, the order of tasks you complete before exams (ie x weeks going through notes, x weeks doing questions, x weeks doing past papers etc)?
Thanks for the kind comment Olivia ❤️ It really meant a lot to me! Yes I am planning on doing a video in April after the coming exam on how I plan my exams. So in that video I will also talk a bit about how I plan ahead for my doing questions and past papers. Stay tuned ;)
i like your videos..im studying actuary in South Africa , i want to work in the uk, please make a video on the difficulty of going the uk to work there as an actuary from abroad
Hey Luvhani! Thanks for your comment! In terms of trying to get work in the UK, I am not quite sure, as I have applied directly from within the UK when I was in uni. But I have a friend who worked in my company in South Africa and later on got transferred internally to the UK. There are also a lot of people from South Africa in my office so it is definitely doable. Especially because most of the South African exams, especially the early ones follow exactly the same as the IFOA ones. I talked a bit about international mobility as an Actuary in this video so you can also check it out: ua-cam.com/video/OlCvAaNZFTU/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ArnoldHo Good luck! Hope its useful :)
In the UK, employers will usually cover all the exam related costs including material. So if you are not studying the actuarial degree in university, you wouldn't need to pay anything to get the qualification (technically, but you will still need a university degree normally in order to get employed).
How many papers have u cleared yet? Since u r studying for cm1, i assume u r in early stage of learning... Since cm1 is going to b my next sitting in September diet!
Hey Prerna, I have completed CS1, CS2, all the CB subjects and CP3. So hopefully (fingers crossed) if I pass CM1 this time I only have CM2 left until I've finished all the more 'mathsy' subjects. I have left the CMs to the last as I wanted to learn R at the beginning of my career and the CS subjects cover that aspect of it.
