Hey👋🏾👋🏾 I just wanted to say thank you for your content. I failed on my first attempt some time ago before I ran into your videos and I feel so blessed that I did because I took my LMSW today and passed. The way you explained things in your previous videos helped me understand how to answer the questions accurately and I have watched every last video you’ve made. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Big thanks to you for being apart of my success.🎉🎉 Ya girl is officially a licensed social worker
Hello, I passed my LMSW exam last week!!! All thanks to God and Savvy Social Worker. I kept hearing your voice say," What is the priority problem". The way you break down the questions made it so much clearer. Keep doing what you are doing". I refer all my MSW peers to your videos. Thank you!!!
Savvy, I'm confused by marriage counseling question. We are in beginning process, we need to engage and gather information. If each partner identifies strengths and weaknesses of relationship, doesn't that help to gather information? We also don't know (at beginning stage) if both partners WANT to continue relationship, they may be seeking therapy just to gain insight. Choice B feels like an assumption early in the helping process that they WANT to restore relationship. Answer B is providing intervention when at beginning. You mentioned "we don't want to assume anything like divorce" but we also can't assume they want to stay together. What am I missing?
Answers A & B are interventions. This is a BEST question-- we meet the client's where they are and do what's MOST BENEFICIAL for their PRIMARY problem. We can only choose the BEST answer from the options presented. The ONLY choice that will benefit/ HELP their issue is B. We are not "assuming" they want to stay together, but we do know that they are live in the moment choosing/ SEEKING THERAPY to address their issue. That's what we have to go off of. Our job is to address their primary problem. The wife is feeling disappointed & the husband feels that they've been growing apart. Identifying strengths & weaknesses doesn't address or resolve that.
I appreciate your vast knowledge. I am also gaining a wealth of insight as to how to break the questions down. Thank you for taking the time to create this content. It is definitely supporting me as I prepare for my exam.
I am taking my first (and hopefully only!🤞🏻) attempt at the LMSW Exam in 9 days and your strategy of breaking down these extra complex questions is just 100% clicking for me and I can't say thank you enough. I feel so much more prepared and it feels really within reach. Thank you Savvy Queen!! 👑 🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻
Blessings!! Your videos have been very helpful along my journey to pass this exam!! (Approaching my 4th attempt) Thank you so much!! 🙌🏽✨️🙏🏾 BUT!! lol That last one about the gay therapist feels big time tricky. I chose C rather than D, because ethically, its recommended that we consult with more experienced colleagues IF they are more experienced than we are in a particular area. This would allow us to make the BEST approach in dealing with a potentially sensitive matter. (2.05) *My primary issue with the exam... tomato tomahto.
I had the same question not too long ago, but not with the option to discuss the issue with the supervisor or colleague, but with the other 3 options. What would be the answer then?
The question around the 26 minute mark regarding the family and religion. Would the answer be different if they asked "how would you BEST help this situation?"
Question Last question Lesbian couple who are under the impression that social worker is gay. Q is What should you do ? Answer is Clarify and explore what they want. Clarify ??? I get explore part. But not Clarify part. Even the couple think Social worker is gay. How it will affect to therapy ?? It is only impression. Even the social worker is really gay. No need to disclose Social worker's personal info.
I remember a question like this was once treated here in a group session. And she said a social worker doesn’t need to clarify his/her orientation, identity, status or qualification to treat a client. So now I’m confused 🤔🤔
Hi Savvy, the work that you are doing is wonderful, however, I am a bit confused about question Q about a female SW and a gay couple, isn't it good to proceed with the session and seek guidance from a colleague who specializes in working with gay clients. I am realizing the issue hasn't posed any problem yet but she has an ethical responsibility to practice in areas that she is more competent in and to do that she has to consult experts which in this question is a colleague. I stand to be corrected.

Question
Last question
Lesbian couple who are under the impression that social worker is gay.
Q is What should you do ?
Answer is
Clarify and explore what they want.
Clarify ???
I get explore part.
But not Clarify part.
Even the couple think
Social worker is gay.
How it will affect to therapy ??
It is only impression.
Even the social worker is really gay.
No need to disclose
Social worker's personal info.
I agree and was very confused on this question.
I am also confused how this answer was brought about.
Integrity. Allowing someone to assume something without clarifying could be detrimental to the therapeutic relationship down the road.
Thanks a lot !

1st question: I thought OCD and fixation can begin at the oral fixation stage
why is the correct answer anal? OCD is both thoughts and behavior - each state someone could potential have OCD
