This man has a rare talent ever seen in any contemporary architect. In 3 minutes he explains a complex idea with simple diagrams and a straight forward narrative. This is a complete professional that makes zero effort when he produces architecture. We need masters like this showing up his skills. Barry Berkus, we will never forget your humble and profound teachings.
I am saddened to hear that Barry Berkus has died, I am young and fascinated by architecture and I wanted to learn more from this great man. Rest in peace, Barry Berkus
its really incredible to see how a simple diagram in the beginning, whether it be a parti or block diagram, can turn out into such an incredible project!
Oh,dear Master.R.I.P. Honestly, you're not really famaous architecture in my country i saw you at TV for a few times.I'm sooo respectfull that guys are like you.Doing good things for the world is always makes you best human being !! Rest in Peace , lots of love !
Most people don't want to share their ideas with everyone, but Architect Berkus did through this simple and accessible tutorial, that he and his architecture, also his ideas and way of thinking, will live forever. I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching this, before studying architecture to start learning as an architectural beginner.
Thank you for sharing with us your years of intelligent, family life focused, design processes. Your awareness of the natural surroundings and how the home compliments it, is refreshing. Thanks again Mr Berkus. The Europeans who own it have great taste too. ;) Finally, what are the markers you use called. Brand/model etc.
I just learned that Barry Berkus died. I was looking forward to sharing this message. However, this message is for everyone: I am delighted to get back into architecture. It was a field that I studied and continue to practice in some form or another. One factor I find interesting in architecture is the fact that someone is actively designing a space uniquely for another person. This is wonderful because I pertain it to teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, who spoke to his disciples saying, I go to prepare a place for you, and Where my Father is, there are many mansions. The man, Jesus, gave his life, crucified on the cross, taking in the sins of the world. He died, was buried, and resurrected on the third day. He returned to his disciples with a new body, one where he was able to pass through spaces and reveal himself in various situations, sharing time, meals, and His peace with his disciples. He then ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of Power. He is going to return in the flesh. In the meantime, He sent out His Spirit, a free gift to those who repent and determine their lives to His sovereignty and grace. He went to prepare a place for His chosen, those that call out to the Lord in faith, and cry out to the Father, Abba, making it possible to speak and receive from the Father anything that we would ask for. Jesus was a carpenter. I believe He still is, only now we wait until He reveals to us the place He has been making for us. He is an architect. I've thought it wonderful, in addition, that when he said, Those who believe in me, the works that I do, they will be able to do and greater. If He goes to prepare a place for us, then how much would we be able to prepare a place for others? It already appears so in the videos of this man, Barry Berkus through the sharing of his discipline. Only God knows what everybody will leave behind...and what everyone is building on top of His foundation for the future. I challenge you, reader, to read your life: What are you living for? What are you dying for? Is love something you practice, the fruits of the Spirit of God?: Peace, Love, Joy, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control? Now is the time to repent, turn your hearts to the Living God. Repent of your sin, for every man falls short of the glory of God and we certainly need Him to overcome temptations and our shortcomings. Peace and joy to the reader. May you find peace and fulfilment in Christ Jesus.
