"Oh, this is really satisfying... I'm enjoying it a lot." I loved hearing you say that! Sometimes it's easy to forget that you are getting joy out of this as well. There are some content creators that just seem to be going through the motions in order to get another video out to their subscribers, and I'm sure it can become a pressure like that which could steal your joy. So it really warmed my heart to hear your own enjoyment of the process and outcomes. You are appreciated far more than you realize, and your efforts bring such joy to others, myself included. Thank you for all you do for us!!! You are truly a gem!!!
Wow that is so kind thank you. Yes I very much get lost in a painting each time so it’s such a pleasure to paint these for you. We really needed to hear that too as sometimes we do feel slaves to the algorithm!
What fun that was to even watch you paint this! I have koi in a pond and I love to paint them. They all have very different colors from each other, and even their faces have their own look. You gave me some great ideas to help me to get better at this. Thank you!
Harriet, I have watched several of your vides now and THIS, by far, is my favorite!!! Thank you for great help and enthusiasm. We appreciate you out here from across the pond!!!
Thank you Harriet! The skill of having enough wateron the paper when you add more pigment of another color to get the right "bleed" ! Loved this exercise! Painted two! :0) Practice!
I love the way this turned out! I have someone that just asked me to paint a crappie fish for him. I have watched this a few times. I’m not certain how much paint to water ratio is being used. I haven’t tried this yet but I can imagine me having trouble with the scales blending nicely like yours. My friend wants me to paint this fish on a piece of slate. I think by using watercolor grounds I may be able to do it. I really love the way your fish looks.
I really liked this. I love your enthusiasm and it makes me want to grab my paints and get going. Thank you for showing us something a little different...I think I might need to buy a book on fish.....LOL Thank you Harriet.
hello Harriet, I have successfully painted this fish following your tutorial(twice), but I added some metallic gold to the fins and silver metallic to the scales. I’ve turned it into a birthday card.Thank you. I also have your book which I’ve only begun to work thru.❤
That was fun! Unfortunately, I have an inexpensive Payne’s Grey, which is truly just drab grey, so I ended up adding some ultramarine, which gave me a nice, pretty fishy-blue/grey. Second fish was much better than the first. Many Thanks for your tutorial; your running commentary is so helpful!
Love the fish. 💙 The only fish I ever "painted" was japanese gyotaki style. Apply the paint on to the fish and then cover it with rice paper to make a print of it 😂🐠🐟🤦♀️
Thank you for the tutorial. My fish are always bland but with you showing how to include scales I'll try it again. If you were to put a background on this, what would you suggest?
What colors are in your "shadow mix"? Is it burnt umber and paynes grey? I'm experimenting with the closest colors I've got. I'd like to learn this to make a card for my dad, he's an avid fisherman.
We will be restocking paintbrushes in the shop on 1st March!

The splatters make a statement! Makes him bold. "I'm not to be caught, I'm just here to be painted, thank you!" M.
Absolutely!
It was a great tute. I must admit, at every stage, I thought “oh now she’s finished”!
Haha! I think a lot of people think that. I’m always looking for new bits to do

I think some of those watercolour bubbles that are very popular on UA-cam tutorials at the moment
Me with my 11$ Walmart brush and pallet
: how does she do that!
