At first he said two (and looking at the picture on the instructions it looks like two) but after opening the egg trays he said three and put in two so I think everything got mixed up

I had a Creepy Crawlers back in the early 2000s as well as a Doctor Dreadful and a queasy bake oven which was the easy bake oven for boys if that wasn’t obvious. They were very clever.

It was seen as domestic work which should be reserved for women and little girls should be prepared to do it and yet master chefs were pretty much all men. Not to mention that cooks were needed in the military and on pretty much every boat. It was always one of the most awkward places to try to enforce gender roles. Even more than usual.
I had the oven one. The one that was supposed to stay locked until the thing had cooled down entirely. I remember my cousin and I forcing it open and burning each other with the hot metal plate. Because that was a thing, apparently.

I feel like a video on Kinetic Sand or Moon Sand would be rad... or Floam maybe? I had a bigass set of Kinetic Sand when I was a kid that came with this arctic scene and some cute little penguins. It even had a pool at the bottom, and if you put the sand in and take it out again, look, it doesn't get wet!!

I don't really remember a lot from the 2000s, but I vaguely remember those catalogs that would come in the mail around the holidays and would be filled with all kinds of activity sets (creepy crawlers, easy bake, etc.) And I remember always wanting to know if those "chemistry" sets actually worked (a la making slime)

I remember having one of these. It was the one with the giant yellow bug on the top, and boy they kinda stunk. And stuck to absolutely EVERYTHING. Horrible in the summer too, where they'd melt
I bought myself a Doctor Dreadful lab a few years back, to make the edible lolly/candy spiders etc. It did not taste good, and was kind of a pain to make. Especially the gross taste/texture of the earwax and snot recipes (I got the kit that was a skull head).
I probably would have tried to eat these if I had it as a kid.
FYI it would probably be better to just buy some insect food moulds and then fill them with a jelly (maybe add less water so it holds together better), chocolate or candy goop.
I was feeling stressed due to me being a senior in highschool and a heavy procrasinator so I decided to take a short break. This was my top recommended and I am super thankful. You helped me calm down and took my stress away. (cuz i love laughing at people but still thanks)

This glue gun version doesn't look nearly as fun as the hot oven tray version. At least with the bottles and trays, we were able to make the bugs polka dotted or striped or segmented, and glow in the dark too! They all turn out pretty useless after they're made, though lol.
I remember as a child I had one of these, and something called the Dr. Dreadful Zombie Lab. The zombie lab was really memorable for me because it made edible candy.
I desperately wanted this as a kid, and still do, this video changes nothing. In fact i want this more now.

I remember having one of these things as a kid, but it wasn't one of those microscope looking things Mac got.
Mine basically looked like a recolored easy bake oven and you'd put the goop into a mold yourself and let the lightbulb inside cook it lol
I remember 7-8 year old me arguing to my parents because I wanted this than the ballerina Barbie they were about to put in the cart.
Needless to say, I loved this lol

My mom got me a gummy candy bug maker as a kid, I'm pretty sure it was from the same brand. I don't remember it being so cool and fancy as this kit, but it basically had you mixing a gross liquid gel from gelatin powder and water into tiny bug mold trays and had you put it in the FREEZER. I remember the candy being soooooo gross🤢

Mac, the way you edit your videos creates a sound pallete not unlike that of a noise musician. I am a big fan of noise music! I also had one of these sets as a kid, and I definitely used to chew on the finished creepy crawlers after they were done. In retrospect, that might have something to do with why I enjoy noise music so much.

The oven one was actually pretty cool. My dad was obsessed with them just as much as my siblings and i, so he bought so many molds. Also we cooked them in the actual oven because we could do more plates at a time. They were so cool and you could get pretty good at putting different colors so you could have detailed ones or just fun color mixes. My dad was the goat at creepy crawlers.

I had a creepy crawlers thing and I loved the smell of the toxic fumes. I would straight up just sit there and smell it. I also desperately wanted to eat the plastic used to make the little bugs. It just looked so gummy and tasty

I had one of these 😭 I loved bugs since I was like 2, and my momma got me one when I was little, probably 6? She sat with me to help me make bugs for my bug collection (plastic bug toys in a Barbie suitcase 😅). I definitely feel like I need to buy this beautiful machine again!
