Yeah same. I think SV looks fun so far, but I don't want to get my hopes /too/ high for the wild pokemon mechanics. Especially since GF hasn't mentioned it in any of their advertising this far. I feel like it'd be an aspect of the gameplay that they'd do more to advertise if it were the case. THAT BEING SAID. The idea of certain pokemon being available in relation to other pokemon or various landmarks of the overworld is def something I can see. Like scatterbug being available in the same areas as Grafaiai. That's something has sorta tried before.
This is an interesting theory because if that it ends up being true it could mean grafaiai could have a move with a similar affect to Honey trees and in battle depending on what kind of Berry the Pokemon ate before hand the move could have a different effect maybe change the moves typing or the status effect that is put on the opponent Pokemon
I'd really love this, personally. Sun and Moon kinda did something a little bit like this with Grubbin in Route 1 - The dex says Grubbin hang out around Electric mons to scare away Flying mons; you find Grubbin only in the same patches of grass where Pichu can spawn, which also has a reduced chance to spawn Pikipek. Something else to wonder is now that Auto Battles have ben announced, I wonder if wild mons can battle eachother. We know Seviper and Zangoose are in the game, would be very fitting to see the two of them fighting in the wild.
This is very interesting and it's not just Paldean Wooper and Grafaiai! They have been mentioning things like this in other Pokémon - Lechonk radiates an aroma that Bug Pokémon dislike (Bug Pokémon Repel?) and Smoliv used to say that when startled, it would shoot a bitter oil that paralyses you, but now says "its opponent", still it might something that affects the player and why we see the trainer slowly approaching one. Oh! And we can't forget that in XY, during Horde Battles, Seviper would attack Zangoose and vice-versa, same with Mareanie attacking Corsola, so it's something they have had as a possibility in-game for a while! I have high hopes for this game, honestly, and this video just pumped them up a bit higher!
This gen and game series is already from the previews the best Pokemon game hands down, and the mix of legends overworld but massively expanded just makes this the literal Pokemon world in real life.
When I was a kid playing Gen II, I would wait until night to use the headbutt trees, because Pokemon that clearly were "daytime" Pokemon (eg. Aipom) would already be asleep when they fell from the tree.
I wonder if this means the camera function will be used to take photos of Pokémon for the Pokédex. There’s literally a book for each Pokémon in the dex shelf, right? There has to be more to ‘filling out the book’ than just capturing one of the species.
I kinda feel like this won't come this gen, and if they implement a mechanic with grafaiai it would be closer to how honey works on trees. It's just that I feel like they would have advertised it much more if they truly developed and in-depth AI for the pokemons on the overworld. But maybe I will be surprised, and that's all I am asking for 😆
I'm still under the impression they're holding a lot back. Under promise, over deliver. Maybe I'm wrong but I can only the share the thoughts I have on the footage we've seen
Im happy to see that pokemon is going back to their roots like gen 1. Pokemon had incredible pokedex entries especially in the lost pokedex about how Pokemon interacted with each other and there was a pokemon food chain
I'd say Gen 7 did an absolutely fantastic job at giving Pokémon this sort of biological point of view through dex entries. Lots of stuff there mentions how they interact with eachother or how they hunt
Pokemon seem like they have wanted to do what you're describing for a long time, a couple examples are zangoose and sirviper hord battles or sudowodo hanging out with trevenants. There's also Cubone in sun and moon calling for kangeskhan
This would be really cool and based on trailers and what the website says it seems Game Freak have really made the Pokemon feel a lot more alive in this region! Which is great to see!
... It's certainly a possibility. It could have been something they were working on and we got a "beta test" version in PLA. I wouldn't hold on to too much hope though.
I hope your idea about wild Pokemon being already poisoned when you encounter them because a Paldean Wooper is nearby is not a real thing in the games because imagine a shiny being already poisoned and fainting through no fault of your own.
So there are slowbros in the game, IMAGINE if shellders would evolve slowpokes (I guess that would delete shiny shellder from reality, but it would be cool)
Really interesting thoughts. Unfortunately, I don’t think they’ll think that far into it as far as wild Pokémon being paralysed and poisoned… then again, in gen 2 head butting Pokémon out of trees at night would lead to you encountering them while they’re asleep. So what do I know 🤷🏼♂️😂
God I hope you are right, but after the latest trailer, I feel like it'll be more like the mindless wandering around that we see in PLA for the most part. God I hope I'm wrong though.
This makes me glad I didn't stumble upon this video when the lead up to the game was happening. Thinking about the potential for making the world feel more alive while waiting expectantly, then getting what we have now would have made me feel rather disappointed. I'm not saying the games are in an acceptable state, but I do enjoy Scarlet and now wonder how different my perspective would have been...
I don't really believe it will be implemented well in this, at best it will be a small-scale test. The recent games have been too rushed and had too many features cut to make me believe they will willingly add a huge amount of new mechanics, but hey, hope i'm wrong.
Can't wait to watch in horror as Grafaiai drags away a shiny Scatterbug
I'm hesitant to get my hopes up for anything too specific but love where you're mind is going with this

I've been thinking about this since Grafaiai was revealed - I'm glad I wasn't the only one.

Your animation style and the way you make your avatar/character is one of the best I have seen
I agree 10000%, I would love a Pokemon game like that.
as a MASSIVE documentary fan....we NEED this feature in SV!
This is a really introspective video. I've got to say, one of the better videos I've seen. 7/10, only issue is that there's no e-acute in Pokémon.

Nice job on the narration. I'm also looking forward to seeing what Grafaiai will be capable of.

Literally if that happens it’ll be the end of my career
Recent leaks have shown that encounters you run away from will stay in the overworld, giving you infinite chances
@@hondaaccord1399 you just watched aDrive's video too? lol

Yyup!
Time to work on my David Attenborough impression xD
We all know about zangoose and seviper im still waiting for the day we see them brawl in a mainline game
So there are slowbros in the game, IMAGINE if shellders would evolve slowpokes (I guess that would delete shiny shellder from reality, but it would be cool)
Your my new favourite pokemon UA-cam

I really hope so too
