We will always make chakra pongal in vengala panaii on pongal day. Then we put sweet potato, karunai kizhangu, sepankizhangu, urula kizhangu, mochai, parangika podi pota sambar. Tomato parupu rasam, aviyal ( Vazha kai added ), We make ulundhu vada. Idhu engathu vazhakam

Happy pongal to you and your family. Excellent. We make chakarapongal in vengala panaii. People who r in foreign country can follow this method on Pongal day. We all can do this on all normal days. Naanga pacha karpooram, elachi powder serpom. In ghee we fry , mundiri, draksha, jadhika .

I love the menu so much. I have a question. I see that you use hing in most of your dishes. Please tell the benefit of hing in the cooking. Please tell me when we can use aajwain in the cooking and for what type of dishes we can use. Appreciate your advice on this.
Yes we do, hing is a good digestive and helps specially when we use dals.. Ajwain can be used in parathas

Hello Gita Ma ' am. Should we not use soya or sunflower or groundnut oil when making naivyadam. Someone told me not to use soya or sunflower oil. So which oil should be used

Have tried ur sambhar, rasam & vadai earlier. Turned out to be too good. Recently, a week back tried the vada. Only thing i cdnt manage was the shape, taste was exactly the way we used to hv in bangalore.

We do it in jackfruit leaves without the seasoning.just salt and some ra jeera.and there is a way to make those jackfruit leaves dronas with toothpicklike sticks.there is a special technic to it.if you have any GSB saraswat friend and learn from her.we call those idlies as khotte .we do naivedyam to ganapatibappa during ganesh chaturthy.

Hello gita didi.I appreciate combination rasam goes well with thick plain toor dal.sambhar and two dry vegetables one small suggestion from my side Adding fresh pudina and coriander leaves with small pieces of ginger will enhance taste of urad dal vada.

Gitas msm very good plants and preparation for pongsl. Wow very good indeed. Thank you. Can we ususl sambar powdet for festivals. Generally in our home we use fresh sambar and rasam powders for festivals. By the way i prepared your sambar powdet last month for my daughter and it came out well and it has fine to Florida. Now next i will try your rasam powders. You have used a steel.pressure pan for pongsl is prestige brand how many liters. I noticed you have got new hats for powders very cutr.. A very very Happy Pongsl to Msma and you. Shanranthi Shuashaya!
We use the home made sambar powder ,except for Shradh where we prepare fresh powders and make.The pressure pan is Butterfly brand
