I'm not rich, married, good looking, I'm about to be laid off, I'm old, I have health issues, and I don't have a lot to be proud of, but i can say I saw Carter Beauford in concert twice and I'm very proud of that!
DMB is either loved or hated....but one can't deny the reality of sheer talent in Carter's playing. What a joy to watch.

Honestly, most everyone on that stage is insanely talented. They play off each other better than most any band in history. If you have never been to a live show, I highly recommend that you go at least once.

I don't get why it has to be a debate over who the best drummer is. Carter has fun every time he plays and is a joy to watch. That's enough for me, as someone who is a massive fan of all the guys listed in below.
That's right, he looks like he always having fun. As a drummer I look at all of the greats with equal respect, I mean they do it for a living, that in itself is good enough.
Every time he plays this song he does them, and yet those cymbal-tom-snare-snare hertas he does just before the end never fail to floor me big time. What a drummer.

Every time I've seen them live, and every video like this... it always makes me smile. Watching any musician like Carter play is watching a big kid remembering when they were young and falling in love with their chosen instrument. The guy just loves playing... and he's damned good too.
As a Blues, Country and Rock drummer playing for over 30 years and being on stage for thousands, I may say That Carter Beaufort is by far one of the best drummers ever, his style of playing is unmatched. His friendly smiling face and having a great time attitude behind the kit, his joy he gets from always challenging himself, and his drum fills and solos are incredible, One of the Best Drummers Ever
Mr. Carter Beauford...better than Portnoy, Peart, Rich, Mangini, Moon, Bonham, Gadd, Copeland, Weckl, Silveria, Luzier, Ulrich, Williams, Jordinson, Lombardo, Mullen...At 58 years old, this guy is THE BEST DRUMMER IN THE WORLD. YES, I SAID IT. He loves what he does and he never gives less than his best. He has progressively gotten better with age and if you watch some of their live performances, you can definitely tell. He has so much soul, ambidexterity, groove, feel, technique, style, technicality, speed, versatility...every performance, he gives it his all and he mixes it up all the time. He makes a 4/4 time signature sound impossible. And he does it all with a SMILE on his face. God, I love this guy so much. He puts the music and the fans before himself.

I never liked Dave Matthews band, however I always respected the talent. In a would of autotune and laptop djs these guys are still shredding

So many comparisons, can we not just agree many musicians have unique sounds? One isn't always better than the other. There are tons of super talented musicians who can melt faces any time, getting 6 to 8 on the same stage is the real magic.

ive heard grip, and blisters. when you are playing every night, the gloves can help with not blistering up too much. i used to play with them and would go back and try it again for sure. they are just footjoy golf gloves.
