00:26:30 You're spot-on about how the AI works in these games. I've played a lot of them. The AI does not know how to play hands, combos, or decks. It only knows how to play individual cards.
The Toa bit was surreal. It was completely random and took me off guard, dragging me back into a time i could barely even remember like a fuzzy dream. 11/10
7:30 The save file problem is caused by having a save file from Yugi as the last one. The fix goes something like this (You can search this in the net for the fix) Grab the save file from Joey and Kaiba and put it away (like on desktop screen) Save a deck on Yugi (also play a duel then save the new cards for easier to detect if it worked) Copy and Replace the save files on Joey and Kaiba using the save file you put away Check Yugi's deck if it was saved I am not sure if I am missing something. There's a lot of glitches to abuse on Yugi, while there's barely any on Kaiba and Joey (Make Voice Volume Zero for Yugi to play faster duels) Turns out there's an easier way
I remember playing the hell out of Joey the Passion as a kid, specifically because I found a version that was modded to have 3 cards replaced to be the 3 Egyptian Gods. I think it was Muka Muka -> Slifer, Maju Garzett -> Ra and I can't for the life of me remember what was turned into Obelisk.
31:21 interesting conundrum. i did the mathematical analysis and found that, assuming you have an equal chance of either winning or losing a game, you would on average get the same number of cards per duel doing either single duel and match duel. single duel: 1/2 chance of winning: 1 card in 1 duel 1/2 chance of losing: 0 cards in 1 duel average: 0.5 cards per duel match duel: 1/4 chance of winning twice: 3 cards in 2 duels 1/8 chance of winning, losing, and winning: 3 cards in 3 duels 1/8 chance of winning, then losing twice: 0 cards in 3 duels 1/2 chance of losing and ragequitting: 0 cards in 1 duel average: 0.5 cards per duel of course, this doesn't take into account the skill disparity between the player and the opponent, or your ability to side-deck. in practice, a higher than 50% chance of winning makes match duel more favorable but i don't feel like doing the numbers on that one
