I know this video is old , but let me tell you how grateful I am. You did a fabulous job explaining everything and showed us how. Most of the other tutorials I watched trying to do this I was freaking lost. I went through so much paper and Time I was ready to just pack it all away, until I watched you. Thank you, Thank You, Thank You. I am 55 year old woman with a TBI so things take me a little bit to grasp but not with you showing me how to use my cricut. I can finally use my cricut to make labels and stickers. Your the best!...keep up the great tutorials.
I am so happy my video was helpful! Happy crafting!
Out of all the videos I watched (a LOT) you are the only one who specified MATTE. They just show you their paper without saying not to print on the glossy side. Thank you.
Thank you ☺️
Omg; I feel like an idiot, of course OFFSET! I’ve been getting soooo frustrated with Cricut trying to cut all letters. Thank you so much!!! 💜
You're welcome 😄
Thank you for the tutorial. I have been struggling with print and cur for a while and of course it would be the flatten part i would be missing... thank you, thank you... your the best please never stop making these video's for us....
Thank you 😊
Thank you for showing me this print and cut feature. Have had my explore for 4 years and never knew I could do this by sending to my printer LOL... new subscriber too 😀
You're welcome! Happy to have you here 😊
Thank you for this tutorial. The timing is perfect since I just finally bought/set-up a printer yesterday. I've had my cricut more than a year but no printer, so now I'm excited to be able to do so much more but didn't really know how to go about it.
That’s great!! Thank you
Thank youuuu sooo much I’ve been trying to figure out how to do print then cut without cutting the words and you’re video finallly helped after the many vids I watched 💓💓
Great video! I wish I had watched this yesterday. I wasted so much vinyl trying to get a print to cut to actually cut all the way through. I tried a ton of settings, but never thought of the adhesive cardstock setting! I was going to scrap the whole design and think of something else, but now I'm excited to go back and try your setting! 🥰
Thank you 😊
Thank you, Jessica, for taking the time to share this! ❤️
Thank you for this. I have been struggling with the cutting of printable vinyl. ❤

Hey Jessica! I have recently subscribed to your channel and love it!! Im new to crafting and just starting to dip my feet in the water with my cricut. I feel rather undereducated with my cricut and was wondering if you could make a beginners cricut tutorial. Thank you so much!!
Thank you for subscribing! I probably won’t be doing too many Cricut tutorials because my channel is primarily about tumbler making. There’s so many fantastic beginner Cricut tutorials on UA-cam and if you have any questions, I’m happy to help!
If you do a search via UA-cam for cricut design space you will get a ton of videos. I recommend watching a video first, find who you like and then follow along you can pause, fast forward and go back as many times as you need. Just remember on the older videos there have been some updates. It would be nice if they could go back and re edit or put out new instructional videos with the changes but there are so many up and coming cricuteers I'm sure they will get to them. Good luck. I started in 2006/2007 and never looked back. I own every cricut machine minus the maker 3 and you have so many great instructors on here.
I just set my printer up today! So I'm so happy I came to your page first! Do you happen to know if you're using clear printable vinyl how would you do the outline??
If it was clear printable vinyl, the process would be exactly the same.
@@FlynnSistersBoutique thank you so much! I could not for the life of me get this figured out.
THANK YOU!! Your machine is soooo quiet...and it cut so perfectly!! what was the blade you were using if you don't kind my asking? it looked different. Thank you sooo much for sharing!
Donna
Thank you 😊 this is a Cricut maker 3 with the blade it comes with. I haven’t put a different blade in it
I noticed how quiet is was as well. I have a Maker and it's pretty noisy.
Good afternoon and merry Christmas. No rush. I’m just starting out trying to make stuff. So far I made some ok tee shirts but I want to do more. I’m looking to put pictures and photos on shirts and coffee mugs. What’s a good printer and the right paper to use?
Merry Christmas! I dont make shirts and the printer for coffee mugs depends. Sounds like you maybe be thinking of sublimination. I dont do sublimination do unfortunately, i couldn't give you a proper recommendation.
You mentioned that you don’t recommend sealing the paper first- just straight epoxy…is that just for the StarCraft brand you have or all printable vinyl? Thank you. Love your videos!!
All printable vinyl is good to go without sealing 😊 thank you!
Hi, just found this video. Question about printable vinyl…do they make some specifically for laser jet printers?
Yes, they do.
Thank you!!!!
Thank YOU!
oh wow! Tell me,..I don't have epoxy but I bought Crystalac Bright tone...will I have the same result at the end? I bought this one cause it's non toxic for animals, etc.
❤love you more xx
Can you use printable vinyl sticker paper to do a full tumbler wrap?
Yes, you can
Thank you so much for this video very very helpful…do you like the CRICUT MAKER I was thinking about getting one I have the AIR 2
If you’re not planning on cutting thicker materials I wouldn’t. It’s slower than my air 2 and it has connectivity issues
Do you just use a regular ink jet printer, seperate from a sublimation printer?
I use an inkjet
Great video. How do I get it on the mug?
You remove the backing, and place it on.
I'm new and have an explore air 2 my question is can you print and cut on permanent vinyl? I don't have apoxy or anything like that like a mug press or the tumbler kit do I have to have those things ?
You cannot print on permanent vinyl. You can print and cut on printable vinyl but it isn't permanent. You have to epoxy over it.
Thank you for this video!! Just wondering where you got your printer from? Thanks is advance!
I bought it on QVC years ago
What do you recommend as a beginner crafter the kind of printer to use for print and cut
I'm trying to print a logo that has multiple layers to put on a glass cup. How would I do that?
The printer i use is in the amazon link in my description box
I have a question. I am printing a photo to put on a plate and I had to slice it because of the size. You mentioned a size that cricut will print and cut. Will it cut a half circle up to 8 inches long?
The maximum print area size for print then cut projects is 9.25" x 6.75.
Wish this was silhouette, still watching lol
😁
Such a great tutorial!! You do such a nice job 🥰
Great tutorial!! I was struggling with print then cut using printable vinyl 😒 What if I want a colored offset in Design Space? Is it the same process? Also, should I print it using my sublimation printer or my regular printer like I've been doing? I just bought a sublimation printer because my business is really taking off quicker than I expected. Someone please help me with these 2 questions? I spend more time trying to figure out Design Space with my images than on the product itself😢
Yes, if the same, you just color the offset. You can just use your regular printer.
@@FlynnSistersBoutique how do you color the offset if you’re using printable vinyl?
So say you used this printable vinyl but your offset was green then what? 🤔
@@mrcox429 highlight the offset and go up to the left side of your screen and choose your color
I just wanna drink from that cup!!!
😆
i have the siser easyweed printable adhesive vinyl & my ink is running it's a glossy finish so I chose glossy any tips PLEASE!!?
You're best bet is to contact customer support from your printer company
Thank you it was very helpful for me. Like to see more. Love your site.
Thank you Donna! I'm glad this was helpful.
Do you have to epoxy over the print and cut vinyl? I have a cup I want to make and I can't get the SVG apart to do the 4 different colors in order to cut them and layer the vinyl.
Yes
Thank you....any suggestions then for a turner that will accommodate a 40oz water bottle? 😬
When I print on glossy paper I have to turn off the bleed feature.
Do you need a specific ink or printer for these?
You do not. There is printable vinyl made for both inkjet and laser printers. Just be sure to buy the paper for the type of printer you have.
Thank you so much
Will matte sticker paper work the same way? If so, would I need to seal that in?
I can’t confirm because I haven’t used it I’m sorry
I have a question For a white waterslide do u need to have ur bleed on or off
Off
Thank you
Can these be used as car decals?
No, printable vinyl is more like sticker paper. The vinyl has to be sealed to be permanent, otherwise, the image will scratch, bleed and fade.
Does the printer needs to hage specific ink or just the regular ink the printer used?
I just have a regular printer and generic ink in mine
Can you PLEASE do a video on how to print and cut something with a black background? When I have a black spray painted cup and print and cut something with a black background my printed black background is always lighter than my spray painted cup. I NEED HELP!?
Yeah I can eventually do a video on something like that. Typically for a project like that I spray paint a small white section similar to the size of my image and then clear spray paint, then clear waterslide since clear waterslide is easier to blend than adhesive vinyl. Also make sure you’ve optimized your print settings for the darkest blacks
@@FlynnSistersBoutique I will try those recommendations. 🤞🏼 Thank you so much.
Is there a way to get around the size of print then cut. It seems so waistful?
You could always fill the sheet instead of just printing one image. I just did it this way for demonstration purposes
@@FlynnSistersBoutique i thought print then cut only went 6.75 by 9.25
can you print on reg white matte vinyl or does it have to be printable vinyl I am new to doing this and just want to make sure I do things right ty in advance
The printer ink would smear on regular vinyl.
Evening Jessica i not sure which step i over looked but the image printed out some bold some not and when i went to cut it was cutting each letter i listened a few times but i guess i not getting it i did not do the offset steps correct
i think
Yes, it sounds like your image wasn’t offset and then flattened to the offset layer
I see some people use the offset, attach and flatten then others just print and cut with none of that why
Depends on the image and what you want the final look to be. This image had letters that wouldn’t have looked very good against that dark glitter if they were cut out clear to the edge, that’s why we added an offset
@@FlynnSistersBoutique thank you so much
3rd question, do I flatten every print and cut using printable vinyl if it's words and some details or images?? And help would be highly appreciated.
Yes, everything that will be print and cut needs to be flattened.
Do you have to use an ink jet printer?
You can use a laser printer but you have to make sure the paper is compatible
Can you do this on the app on phone or just computer??
It should work on the app as well
If did this and wanted it to be a sticker and have a shiny surface like with laminate, and it doesn't cut. What would be the reasoning for this ?? Sorry I've been looking for a video like this from you for a minute lol, TIA
Cricut can't read off a shiny surface. It has the be white matter paper.
@@FlynnSistersBoutique so if I did anything that wasn't shiny I would be good then right??
I would cut the laminate to fit the dimensions inside of the registration marks and adhere it without covering the registration marks so that the machine can read it properly
@@laurawhittaker7217 thank you I'll try that!
Hi Jessica!
So I have a text only design that I am trying to print then cut. I created the white background using a rectangle and changing the color and every time I go to print it there is no black box to cut it out. I’ve ensured that both of the pieces have been flattened together too. Instead, it keeps cutting out the letters individually and that is not what I want. Any tips on how to resolve this? I haven’t had any luck researching myself.
Did you attach it to the square before flattening the 2?
@@FlynnSistersBoutique yes I attach and then I flatten. No box appears around the image when I preview the image or send it to the computer which then makes the letters cut individually.
You might have solved this by now. It sounds like you have the wording on the cut setting at the top drop-down box and not print then cut selected
Hi can u please send me link to get the paper
All my materials are always linked for you in the description box of each tutorial.
And you need a photo printer for this?
A regular inkjet printer is great
Wheres your sweatshirt from?
A shop in Leavenworth, wa
What do you do if your cricut won't register the cut lines?????
That’s usually because you’re using a shiny material or they didn’t print dark enough. You might also need to calibrate your machine. Put matte scotch tape over your registration lines if you’re cutting shiny materials
What printer do you use
It says in the video at the 6:03 mark. Canon Pixma mx922 inkjet
Hello, just saw your video, what is the difference between printable vinyl and sticker paper? For the print then cut
Sticker paper is clear so if theyre not placed against a white background they love their vibrancy.
Can you teach us to do this on a silhouette??? Bahahaha just kidding! 🤣
😆
Very helpful thank you
Thank you so much! This truly helped me!!
You are so welcome! thanks for watching
Thank you 😊
Thank you for watching Angie!
